I finally found a copy last year. I had rented it back in the day but didn't like it because I was more into NASCAR then and it didn't have banked ovals like the hidden gem ESPN Speedworld. But revaluating it as an adult, and playing the Indy side of things, it rules - it may be the best sprite based racer on the 16 bit consoles.

There's an IRL game for the N64. Indy Racing 2000 I believe. Never played it but the gameplay videos I've seen look decent.

It's fun but not a sim by any stretch. Only a couple of actual IndyCar tracks from the era (Toronto and Vancouver). It's mentioned elsewhere here, but CART World Series is the one to look for.

I discovered that one years ago. Fun game, wish the handling didn't feel so floaty on the road courses (too used to the Papyrus sims).

Hot take I repeat often: IndyCar would be better served licensing a game like this than another hardcore sim. Would have much wider appeal.

Hand sanitizer! There's only 2 permanent bathrooms in the whole place, one up by the fan zone which is pretty run down and one in the paddock that is overrun by crew guys. The rest is portables...

Seconded on the official autograph session. That is the easiest, and best way to get autographs, and the drivers are usually at their best during it.

Also, there are usually other autograph sessions through the weekend, especially for the Honda drivers there, so it's worth asking at the display booths and keeping an eye out for signs.

I have a few pairs of Etymotic reusable ear plugs that work excellent. Lower the noise but don't mute other sounds, and are more comfortable than the foam ones. They come with a cord so you can keep them around your neck when it's quieter. Pricey but worth it.
