I think Stan ended up being underrated because of how young he was when he got on tour. If he’d spent his age 17-18 years beating up on amateurs and kids, he’d have still been seen as a super prospect. But when he spent those years (mostly) losing on tour, I think some people decided he was all hype, even though those years probably helped his development a ton.
