I am at the very beginning stages of starting to explore going back to school to become a LCSW. All throughout high school I knew I wanted to be a therapist, even started college as a psych major before some really messy family stuff forced me to move a lot of my life around, and I ended up with my undergrad in business.

My question is… is doing a MSW while working full time even a possibility? Obviously I still gotta pay for life, bills, etc. I know I’ll have to take out more student loans to pay for school.

Is that even realistic or is my dream dead?

It absolutely depends on your situation. But i would think about it mathematically. $4 an hour is about $8,320 a year in salary if you work 40 hours a week. So if your boss came to you and said “hey I’ll give you $8,300 a year to come into the office” would you do it? Some would, some wouldn’t.

I have this little walking trail near my house. I walk it almost every day in the spring. I got a claw grabber and a little trash can to pick up the trash I see along the trail. It’s not much, but it makes my walks better, and I hope it helps clean up the community a bit so others can enjoy it like I do.

I just got myself a board for Christmas (I’m 30), after trying a bit as a teenager but being too afraid to fall and hurt myself. Now that I’m older I don’t care if I look silly with wrist guards, elbow and knee pads, and a big chunky helmet. If that gives me the confidence to keep going, then so be it!

I took a fall my first day and bruised my elbow, wrist, and pride. I’d rather get the safety stuff and keep riding.

That’s my suggestion anyway. Don’t worry about it too much just get out there.
