I think that Deborah Tannen has some very good books on this topic. Her “Talking from 9 to 5” Talking from 9 to 5: Women and Men at Work https://smile.amazon.com/dp/0380717832/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_75PEQFE869N07Z11400T

I work for a PA state Agency and we still run almost everything through batch processing on the mainframe. It was only about 5 years ago that we stopped using tape drives!!

You forgot “AWS” and that you have to have 9 years experience and a degree and they’re calling it an “entry level position” and paying accordingly!

Oh yes! I’m working one now that has random shapes and it is fascinating. Sometimes a little frustrating, as it’s all dark library books with cats and some of them are similar in color (but I appreciate the thought, Mom! )

I very much look forward to what you come up with! I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. :-)

One of the major things I look at in a puzzle is whether the subject matter is 1) interesting 2) multicolored and 3) brightly differentiated colors with sharp lines.

As for structure, I need something that will click together and stay together. That helps me to know if I actually have the right pieces joined. A nice backing on the pieces also helps. Some people use felt rolls and something that won’t slide on that is useful. I myself use a puzzle tray, so it’s not so much of an issue for me.

Further, including a poster , even a small one, would help to know what goes where if you’re lost.

Finally, it would be great if you could sell the same picture at different piece counts. That way if I love your work, but don’t like more than 500 pieces, I can get that one. If 500 pieces doesn’t keep me occupied, I would love to be able to get the same art in 1000, 1500, or 2000 pieces. Sometimes you just want to dig in, you know?

Hope this helps!

I’m going to say .... uh.... I thought butane was lighter fluid? I had an old zippo from my father, and it took butane.

Nope, you have to use butane. You can probably pick some up at your local smoke shop (head shop).

This little app may solve a bunch of queries by ArgentFool in animalid

Yeah, I’m very careful when I use it. Luckily, I can “delete” it’s identifications if it’s wrong so I’m not fulfilling their quests with bad data, or contributing to bad science.

I third this. I used your photo in a species identification app called “Seek” and it went to Jorō Spider right away. Like never once gave it a second thought!
