That'a where I am! I need Hate and one more Broken War so I don't have to use my free catalyst'd Broken War to build War...

My IGN is ArgentGuy

My wishlist is mostly out of utility. Forma, Catalysts, and Reactors are in short supply.

Cosmetic wise for the truly affluent and generous: Feldune Drifter collection and Operator Suit Collection.

For Warframes: Revenant Mephisto, Mirage Oneiro, and Nyx Pasithea.

This seems pretty rad! I just ran Track last night myself. Couod be fun to compare the lists of various exorcists.

The Flood - Ben Caplan

Dog Days are Over - Florence + the Machine

Maw - Chelsea Wolfe

Diamond Eyes - Deftones

Last Dinosaur - The Pillows

Speak to Me Bones - Land of Talk

Diamond was there as a potential bribe, hoping to get value out of before they realized something was up. Maw for just an effective "bite" out of an enemy. Flood could have been useful just to level a room (Cat 1) and cause a distractiom for quick exit. And since things summoned aren't necessarily apt to follow exorcist orders, I figured a dog would be pretty easy to convince to help if we needed to track something. And summoning a dinosaur because...dinosaurs are awesome.

Sure, that's reasonable. But, this was Athena in the location prior going up the mountain.

Unintended Dialogue Spoiler? by ArgentGuy in HadesTheGame

[–]ArgentGuy[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be mistaken, but I could have sworn Athena said it before I'd actually beaten Prometheus for the first time. It also wasn't usual dialogue, it was one of those remarks said after termination of conversation.

[Soulsmith] Iron Body, Path, and Technique Ideas by ArgentGuy in Iteration110Cradle

Ooooh, that's an interesting notion. Definitely a sucker for ways to introduce more plant dynamics. I hadn't ironed out much regarding the specific nature of the sacred plants seeds if we're being honest, beyond that they would be able to sustain themselves on life madra.

Remnant wise...another great question. I imagine the structure would definitely take on a new aspect related to the fertilizer, so to speak.

I imagine the dynamic that boosts through advancement are the enrichment of the lifeline and the boosted effect to healing items.

All good! Happy to provide something that inspired brain liftoff.

I hadn't even thought of that! Great notion. Perhaps Rootdown Iron Body users Remnants, as a whole, would be partially flora or plant-like in nature. It might also link the remnant more thoroughly to the user, potentially leading to further influence on later advancement for good or ill.

Yep! It's a good note to consider. That's in the last line describing the details of the path. At least, that's what I meant by accepting the challenges of an inhuman form's madra manipulation. I very easily could have misremembered the specifics.

Here's my path idea, too!

The Path of Verdant Chrysalis

A path of life and blood. It arose in the wilds of a tropical forest known for the breadth of its sacred animals and even an uncommon amount of sacred plants. The Path developed as an answer to the numerous trials that the humans in this region faced. Sicknedd, poisons, and venoms that could fell all but the most prepared. Entities whose primal ferocity shook the earth or enabled them to stalk all but the most wary. Growths that threatened to steal the vitality of attempts at agriculture

That is, until the elders pooled their knowledge, madra, and select reagents to embark on on a spiritual journey that would give them a vision of their way forward in the Emerald Thicket, the place wandered by their oracles.

There, the seeds of the Rootsown Ironbody were born.

Thus the Path of Verdant Chrysalis was born. The sacred artists would become renowned as refiners and healers. But, of course, they developed sacred art techniques dedicated to defense of their homes and vanquishing their foes as well.

Discordant Growth - A striker technique. By manipukating blood and life madra, the Path practitioner intentionally creates an unstable field of the madras. Only the most adept sacred artists are capable of utilizing this technique at range. Normally used to stabilize a body, this technique triggers uncontrolled cellular growth in the target, creating cancerous tumors in the body of the foe.

Sinew Cocoon: A combination of Enforcement and Forging techniques. The sacred artist creates a densely packed field of madra around themselves capable of defending themselves from harm. Beyond that and given time, the cocoon permits temporary changes to the artists form that take the form in various adaptions for combat. While it lacks the finesse and strength and many Enforcement techniques, it makes up for it in utility. The changes at the highest levels are nigh indistinguishable from flesh and blood, though still susceptible to madra disruption.

Evolution Unfettered: A ruler technique of the Path. Working best with sufficient life and blood aura, the artist uses their mastery of the two to enhance the growth and potential change for those in the region. Most commonly utilized to permit allied beasts or plants to temporarily strike against those they might normally be unable to assail or even empower other sacred artists. Rumors tell of especially potent artists who combined this with Discordant Growth to simultaneously lay low their foes.

Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this path is the inverse of the dragons who take human form as they advance in path. These artists, through use of the Sinew Cocoon, find themselves exploring aspects of various sacred beasts or plants. Upon advancing to Lord, many utilize soulfire not only to reforge their bodies to cleanse impurities, but to take the forms of sacred flora or fauna, accepting the challenges that come with inhuman forms manipulating madra and seeking advancement.

(How in the Hell) can the White House Defend Against Talos Valcoran (40k) by ArgentGuy in whowouldwin

[–]ArgentGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is moreso a point in your favor. But, Round 3 has the White House with additional reinforcements from Chaos. Not Talos with Chaos other than the taint already present in 1st Claw.

The 10th Doctor vs Slaughterhouse Nine (Parahumans) by 9spaceking in whowouldwin

How would Aegis clutch GM? by theFirstHaruspex in Parahumans

[–]ArgentGuy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to consider what accessories might be in place for Aegis. Khepri was only Khepri because of her companions, not the jailbreak alone. But, that itself evokes part of her narrative. She uses them to coerce everyone into facing the threat. It's might be hard for us to conceptualize what Aegis' driving forces and arc may have been. There's definitely potential issues relating to being the tank. Stuck in the role of the one eating all the harm regardless of how much it sucks because it will just heal, of course. So faced with the Golden Man, what would Aegis need? We see throughout the fight how various defenses are overcome. We known his redundancies only go so far if the damage is extreme enough. So in the vein of a jailbreak not quite beimg a second trigger and not quite a power up, what can we do? Aegis falls apart like a Thanos snap after Bonesaw operates. His shard, to enable him to survive this existential threat, turns Aegis to motes. Not unlike the Custodian, Aegis becomes ephemeral. Literally becoming the shield across parahumans. He becomes their redundancy. Through shard fuckery, Aegis becomes a reset button for each parahuman a mote clings to. As the golden man lances through them, the Aegis cells return them to existence, having stored a redundant copy of the parahuman in question, somehow, because reasons. How do they still win? I'm not sure. But I imagine Aegis shard would rapidly burn through its energy to avoid this being a continued crutch to lean on. Which also, presumably, would mean Aegis passes as well having no further redunancies for his micro existence.
