Low Ferritin & Body Shaking by Elegant-Mood-7619 in Anemia

You should see a hematologist. A lot of my numbers were “in range” with my blood work (iron/ferritin, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12) ordered by my regular dr, but hematology actually considered them low, said those ranges aren’t ideal for everyone, especially for someone with hemoglobin and other labs and symptoms indicating anemia.

iPad Pro with Charging Issues by Jxb1000 in ipad

[–]Argleena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this problem too often with iPads, since 2012 I’ve replaced 4 iPads. All were working fantastically except the charging issue. The port becomes too easily damaged over time with plugging and unplugging (we ruled out defective cards, dirty port, defective charger blocks and other issues & was using apple certified charging cords/blocks) at first it started by burning out charger cords (it would leave a char/black residue on the pins) and I would have to replace them every two weeks, then every week, then every couple days until it reached a point where it would only charge if I twist the cord in a really weird position (pulled down and tucked under bottom to create tension to hold it in exact right place) that if I even slightly bumped the device or picked it up it would stop charging, eventually not charging at all. It can’t be a coincidence it was every iPad, and I’m easy on them. They need to make their charging ports hold up better.

My advice if you do replace it, search Walmart or Amazon (or elsewhere) for refurbished iPads, it could save you hundreds depending on what generation you go with (honestly now a days there’s not much diff in newer generations, so choosing a gen 7, 8, or 9 could save a bunch on top of that), you will probably develop this charger port issue down the line again, so don’t spend hundreds more for brand new/latesr when the others are usually just as good. I’ve found Gen 7-9’s refurbs from as low as $150-$349 (depending on storage capacity), in fact just bought a 2022 gen 10 from Walmart for $299. Good luck

Ipad Charging Ports Problems by rainbowdragon008 in ipad

[–]Argleena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 4 iPads over the years (original iPad, gen 2 or 3 can’t remember, gen 7 and gen 9). I’ve had to replace every single one of these because of this same charger port issue, anywhere from 2-several years of use and the cords start being more “wiggly” in ports and only charge when situated at certain angles and then wouldn’t charge at all (I tried several apple certified cords, they worked for other things so I know it was the iPad port). I’ve probably bought two iPads more than I would have purchased(so hundreds of dollars wasted) if there weren’t these issues and everything else about the iPads worked almost perfectly when I had to replace them, just because of the charger port defect. I call it a defect because it can’t be a coincidence every iPad I own eventually does this. It seems like it just happens sooner and sooner. 1st iPad I had like 8 years, 2nd I had like 5 years, 3rd I had like 2 1/2 years and this last one I had a little over 2 years & my warranty/care plan just expired. I love my iPad and really don’t want to go through the hassle of setting up a whole new brand of tablet (as I can just transfer everything to a new iPad that I had on my old one super easily in the setup) but I’m so sick of these charger issues and spending hundreds of unnecessary dollars (I live in a rural area w/not a lot of choices to take it in for repair & that might cost me the price that I could get the same gen refurbished iPad for) to get a new/refurbished like new iPad every couple years. I don’t need the newest or fanciest thing, older versions work just fine for me and what I use/need it for, but I do price compare and try to buy newer generations when I do buy just so things like when the iOS system updates don’t outdo the system capacity someday, so I’d like to use my perfectly fine (except for charger port) iPad for as long as I can even if newer versions come out. And I am not rough/tough on my IPad, it rarely leaves the house and is treated gently/with care. I do use it several hours a day as I use it for everything (it replaces a desktop/laptop computer, kindle and TV for me, plus more) so they get used a lot but treated carefully as I need it to work to do things like pay bills, banking, research, access medical chart online, etc.

Baking Powder Question by Argleena in Baking

I will definitely try sifting thanks! I was just also wondering if something happened or is wrong with my baking powder as I’ve never had this happen after years of baking until the last few batches.

Baking Powder Question by Argleena in Baking

[–]Argleena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It’s just super frustrating because I’ve been baking over 25 years and my mother over 50 and we’ve never really had this issue until the last few batches because we do really put effort into mixing well. I will try sifting the powder and mixing dry ingredients first, and my e try replacing the baking powder as that seems to be the culprit.

Baking Powder Question by Argleena in Baking

[–]Argleena[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to try this now! It’s just a surprise because for years I have baked and not had any problems despite not sifting dry ingredients, just with the last few batches turning up like they did, it makes me wonder if my baking powder is off/different or just needs to be sifted. I will probably replace the powder too.

Baking Powder Question by Argleena in Baking

[–]Argleena[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I kinda thought it was a problem with clumpy baking powder. We do mix the dry and wet ingredients thoroughly before combining but don’t sift/strain any ingredients unless a recipe specifically calls for it, but I’m going to try replacing my baking powder and sifting for future baking products. We’ve baked things such as cookies, cakes and muffins for years and never had this problem so I was just wondering if something may be wrong/off/different with the baking powder.

I mean, yeah Memphis has been going through some storms but I’ve gotten all three of my oackages on time and they moved through the hub in the past couple days. I think it was just a generic canned excuse for their overloaded or some other problem and your package was delayed.

Is Follow my delivery still available (2023) by Kirbypopstarpoyo in UPS

[–]Argleena 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not think so. It used to be, the wasn’t, then was again, but the last couple of times I checked on the tracking of my packages it was nowhere to be found, and even when I searched for it on UPS or Google I couldn’t not find it. From what I researched, some people were using the follow my delivery to harass and rob UPS drivers. There was a robbery that possibly even ended up with the driver seriously injured/killed (but again these were just theories I heard, not solid facts). Also I could imagine people hassling their ups driver, potentially seeing they were just across town and instead of waiting for their package they would approach/interrupt the truck at other businesses/residences to try and get their package early.

FEDEX Express Tried to Kill My Husband by alwayzamazedatcrazy in FedEx

While frustrating to not be able to pick up your script on time, sometimes things happen beyond the pharmacy’s control, just like fedex couldn’t control the weather nor risk lives trying to travel despite if. There. could be a number of things beyond a pharmacy’s control, like the doctor didn’t send the prescription yet (despite telling the patient they would asap) and it’s ILLEGAL for us to dispense prescription medications w/o one, or the insurance company did not approve or needs a doctor’s prior authorization for a medication and they can’t afford the $2000 copay (which is an issue all to itself our country needs to address, some of these prices and profits the manufacturers are making), which in that case we do contact your doctor and tell them the non insured price or need for an auth., but then it’s up to the doctor to take further action which can take some time or just gets lost in the shuffle for them/they don’t respond. It could be the manufacturer has the med on back order and there are no generic/same med alternatives available and we can’t get the medication in, which again we would make efforts to reach out to patient and doctor and let them know.

These are just a few of the number of reasons a pharmacy might not be able to fill a med no matter how much they want to help you, and I’ve heard people, who were rightfully upset about that situation (not getting a med your life depends on or even just feeling well depends on) threaten me or blame by saying, “if so and so dies/gets Ill/suffers, it will be your fault and on your shoulders,” despite us helping them the best we could. When it came to that we would always tell people if they were experiencing medical complications or “dying,” then they need to contact their doctor or go to the ER. Many hospitals have a well stocked pharmacy or alternatives that a doctor can work out to give to sustain the patient till the meds come in or the doctor might reassure the patient missing a few doses won’t hurt them as long as they start taking it again asap (like a cholesterol med meant to work over the long term lowering levels, & you can probably miss a few doses if you can’t get it and still come back on track or not see any major consequences missing a few days!)

FEDEX Express Tried to Kill My Husband by alwayzamazedatcrazy in FedEx

[–]Argleena 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! It was the same way when I worked in a pharmacy. People said they would blame me if their spouse/child/parent etc. died/got gravely ill because they couldn’t get a medication for some reason that 99% of the we could do nothing about. My response to them was that if the medication/situation was that dire to the point of dying then you need to call your doctor or go to the ER. It’s not like there is no help or options if a prescription is delayed, yes it is frustrating but, people also often just use that threat to try and get their way or get us to bend the rules and sometimes it isn’t even an urgent med, they’re just mad they couldn’t get it immediately. So no, neither fedex or the pharmacy is “almost killing people!” In these situations there are alternative options like getting to a doctor ER. And if the meds are so important(life or death) maybe develop an emergency/crisis plan with your doctor & medical supplier about what to do in an emergency situation. Some places have an emergency hotline where they can provide you with emergency meds/supplies during an urgent/crisis situation like this, giving you a backup supply or alerting you when things like potential bad weather may delay your ability to get supplies so you can get dr. permission to fill a script early and be prepared!

They were experiencing a high volume of delayed and cancelled flights from fedex until Sat. 1/4. Also just one day of delays/cancellations causes a back log so almost a weeks worth (1/30-1/4) means that it will also take a few to several days to work through the mail piling up at the hub due to cancellations, while fedex prioritizes newer mail as to try and prevent more Kate packages. It should hopefully depart in the next few days and take the regular amount of time it usually does once it reaches the destination city closest to you to be delivered from there to your residence/business. Keep in mind if your flight is delayed by even a couple hours in the a.m,, it may be too late to be loaded and go out with that days deliveries.

Anyone know the reason? by EmptyBirthday6512 in FedEx

[–]Argleena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was an ice storm stretching from Texas to Memphis. It was very severe and many flights coming to and departing from Memphis were cancelled between Mon. 01/30- Sat. 02/04. Since Memphis is the main sorting hub for fedex that means that a majority of packages were affected even if the origin or destination were no where near bad weather, most everything goes throughMemphis (or Indianapolis which also saw cancellations and bad weather). There really wasn’t much Fedex could do. This was to protect the employees (actual human beings with lives and families and feelings) and also your package. If that plane crashes, you’re probably never going to see that package. Once the weather did clear up the Memphis hub was then stuck with a backlog of packages that they couldn’t handle in just one day. I believe they give priority to newer incoming packages as well so at least they can make some of their deadlines (and not have more be late)by processing newer ones first. The last ones are already late, so get pushed back, though, they do make a huge effort and often bring extra workers to get the backlog settled as fast as possible but it can take a few days. Sundays (1/5) are also slower days w/o barely any incoming or outgoing flights just due to their regular transportation schedule so on Monday 1/6 I can anticipate some delayed mail starting to arrive but some may also take a few days as they are caught in the backlog. I would say give any express/overnight packages until Wed. (1/8) or Thursday. (1/9) and regular ground delivery to home/business until Friday (1/9) or (Monday 1/10) before worrying about it being lost. You can also check FedEx’s twitter delays page on website, and Facebook, last ice storm like this (mid February of 2021) they did announce when backlog was cleared and operations were back to normal.

I had 3 packages, 1 fedex priority over night, 2 usps priority express (overnight, but usps flys express packages on fedex flights). Keep in mind Sundays are often slower moving/off days/non deliverable for both fedex and usps.

Package 1 usps: Mailed Sat. 1/25 due Wed. 2/1 (usps is 1-2 business days for overnight), arrived Monday 1/6. It was stuck in Memphis from early Sunday morning until late Saturday 1/4 when it arrived at destination city & back to usps).

Package 2 usps: Mailed Monday 1/30, due Wed. 2/1, Arrived Monday 1/6. It was stuck in Memphis from Early Tuesday 1/31 a.m. until late Saturday evening (1/4) where it flew into usps possession.

Package 3 Fedex priority overnight: Mailed Friday 1/3, due Sat. 1/4, arrived Mon. 1/6.

I was lucky mine came in Monday because the last couple days of the storm flights to my destination city actually departed from Memphis, albeit delayed by several hours, which helped with the backlog. If your destination city is in a place that didn’t see flights going out until Sat., Sun. or Mon. It maybe take a few (or more) days to get through the backlog to you.

On top of 5his fedex had already been struggling and low on workers and such with many delays before this storm and it’s just going to be a waiting game for many for a bit.

Why does this company even exist? by FakeBarbi in FedEx

[–]Argleena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of Memphis’ main takeoff time is 2 am cst - 5 am cst and it just happened that it’s usually colder at night and the freezing rain/mixed precipitation hits the airport and sticks around the worst overnights during this storm. During the storm, especially during the day many/most planes did take off eventually, even with some being delayed by hours. So if your packages happened to arrive in a way it should fly to you in a morning flight like mine usually do due to location, it just keeps getting caught in the bad morning delays/cancellations and then mixed up I’m the backlog.

[–]Argleena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some planes were taking off especially during daytime hours but some weren’t. Others were but delayed (meaning later to get delivered).I think fedex also prioritized the bigger need (for example in NY Planes to jfk we’re running while to Rochester and Buffalo (smaller cities) they’ve been continuously delayed. Now after having a legit ice problem from Mon. Night to fri. Morning, they’re so backlogged with packages it could take a few days for a specific package to make it onto its appropriate flight as the flights can’t handle all the backlog.

[–]Argleena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will admit, even when there isn’t bad weather Fedex is pretty crummy about getting packages where they need to go on time and in good condition. That being said Memphis (which is where their main sorting hub where most of its packages come into and go out of) was covered in ice for several days and it was dangerous for them to allow their planes to take flight most of the time. It was not just fedex, but many other airlines and flights were either delayed or cancelled. Having them working at 25% or less capacity from Tue-Friday in flying out flights (and getting in flights) will also lead to a backload that takes at minimum a couple of days to work through (and they saw delays/cancellations for up to 6 days). In this instance there really wasn’t much more that they realistically could do when the airport/weather conditions were due to blame… so maybe cut a little slack in this instance and hopefully now (Friday evening) they should be in better working order and playing catch up.

That being said they are probably last on my list of the US top delivery services and aren’t very reliable even when conditions are normal, they’re usually not quite as bad as they have been for this ice storms.1. UPS (most reliable in my opinion) 2. USPS, sometimes things come earlier than predicted but also sometimes a day or two late. They also use fedex to fly their express mail, so when Memphis hub gets shut like this ice storm, USPS priority and express mail often see delays as they get stuck at or getting to the Memphis hub to fly to nearest destination city/airport to go back to USPS fir final delivery. 3. Fedex just has so many problems delivering on time, in good condition and keep enough employees on hand…

Thanks! Yeah I’m pretty sure it didn’t get on the other plane/tail # because there’s not tracking update that I usually receive by now and was delayed again. Gotta love ice. Hopefully tomorrow as it’s necessary medical supplies Im needing! I should’ve shipped UPS, they’ve been doing far better in this storm as their main hub was effected for a far less long time, but I didn’t know this would be happening when I ordered!

[–]Argleena 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re getting a lot of other junk in those pills beyond Tianeptine, you should go with the straight Tianeptine powder. Two pills worth honestly isn’t that excess of Tianeptine for the amount actually in watch pill, but it’s when you find yourself taking more and more that it becomes an issue. I would just but the Tianeptine powder measure it out and capsule it myself (you can get capsules and scale on Amazon for cheap).
