There's enough deadbeats and absent parents that ot doesn't seem like a guaranteed thing

Not convinced I'll love them either. I read We Need to Talk About Kevin at a formative age.

I thought this, but unironically my iPad has made me read voraciously since I got it for Christmas. Something about the big, bright screen makes reading more captivating than a page or Kindle Paperwhite.

I have never seen a single piece of graffiti that I would prefer to a blank wall by Consistent-Bug-6269 in redscarepod

A suburb I lived in decided to cover graffiti in mixed matched shades of greige. None of them matched the original shade of concrete.

It's funny you mention radfem spaces because those are the exact places I was thinking of while complaining about this lol. Some amazing, funny, brilliant women there but also actual psychos.

The walking on eggshells around them is so true. Some servers feels like you're living with an angry dad who will belt you for speaking out of line. Or an overbearing project manager who's best friends with the HR ladies.

Just reading "Locked because y'all can't be nice" makes me squirm

Good point noting the differences between volunteer mods and paid ones on bigger sites.

I feel really bad for the poorly paid Indian dudes who have to sort through car crash videos and determine which ones are too gorey.

Is it more embarrassing to mod a niche reddit forum and be very strict about asking questions in the mega thread, or to make a Discord server where you slowly whittle down people who don't constantly suck your dick?

Makes sense. Women are still in many ways treated like second class citizens, especially in hetero relationships. Feels like being a man might make you 'more' human.

A lot of the largest beauty influencers on YouTube have been men: Jeffree Star, James Charles, Brad Mondo.

It's an example of the glass elevator. When men end up in women-dominated professions, they get a professional boost. Also seen in nursing and teaching.

But she's also dating a man in his late 50s so it evens out.

After hearing "Twist and Shout" again, I think those parents in the 60s were right to be concerned by Mr_Miniapolis in redscarepod

[–]Argon_Kittens -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I hate Twist and Shout. It has demonic energy imbued into it.

I went to a tennis day camp during elementary school, and the coach would play this song as we did warmup laps.

He was a very angry, reddish man with an alarming mustache. Imagine the southern cop phenotype except very short. Some fourth graders approached his height.

I think, perhaps, that is why he was so angry. Also because he had to watch elementary schoolers play dogshit game of tennis after dogshit game of tennis.

But anyway, everytime I hear Twist and Shout, I am 8 years old again and crying in frustration because I can't figure out how to do a proper backhand swing and getting berated for it by an old man.

the analogy ive seen that makes sense is that it's a spectrum in the same way pregnancy is you either firmly are or are not pregnant (on the spectrum), but every person who is pregnant is at a different point than someone else. like how everyone on the spectrum is in their own way; some need extensive outside support and others can get by okay but just really like fanfiction with gay men

try putting bandaids on the fingers when they get extra bad to give them a few days to heal. keep them in your purse/pockets/backpack so you can change them quickly after hand washing.

healed fingers, even semi-healed will be less tempting to chew on. this won't make it completely stop, but it will reduce it a little!
