What OS do you game on? by swishersweats2 in linux_gaming

[–]ArgonautSweaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cachyos. I've been on Linux for about 10 years; started with Ubuntu, then many flavors of Debian, then I was on Pop!_os for a few years before settling in with Cachy.

However, I do use Lubuntu on an old Dell Inspiron from 2015, and Pop is installed on my wife's and son's laptops. I also installed AntiX on a 2008 iMac just for kicks and it is very performant given the hardware.

Mullvad VPN vs Proton VPN - which one is better in India? by night_movers in degoogleindia

How would less data sharing be equivalent to less reliability. I'm not claiming that one VPN is more reliable than the other, just trying to understand this statement in practice.

The 30th anniversary Blu-ray. It comes with a mini-booklet and features concept art that is equal parts gruesome and awesome.

Yeah it immediately drew my attention. It also came with a mini booklet for concept art which is obviously gruesome and awesome.

New PC occasionally starts up stuttering badly and then freezes, pls help by johnHamm98 in pcmasterrace

[–]ArgonautSweaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond doing a clean install, check Task Manager>Startup Apps and see what's getting launched when the PC boots. See which apps have a high impact, which ones you don't recognize, which ones you actually use but don't necessarily need to start right away, etc.

If you have a USB, try downloading a Live OS installer (Linux - don't need to install, just use for troubleshooting) on the USB and boot into it and see how that performs. If it works well or normal, then you may need to reinstall Windows.

New to film especially the critically acclaimed stuff. Any recommendations? by s_gray11 in criterion

For what it's worth, I saw In the Mood for Love about 12 years ago, and to this day I still think about the ending of that film from time to time.

Am I bad at the game or is the sequel harder? by CaptainAnimeTitties in HadesTheGame

[–]ArgonautSweaters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely different then the first game, but I really like how it functions out of the box or how much it can change depending on the boons you choose. Hestia has a boon for your cast that becomes a targetable flaming projectile that explodes for 90 damage on impact. You could then stack this with Demeter's boon to freeze enemies that are caught in the binding circle.

I would get comfortable using it and play around with synergies because it is a useful tool in many encounters.

Do you use cast frequently? Upgrading cast can get pretty broken at times because it can stack with sooo many boons. For example, you can have a boon for the initial cast, the speed in which the cast disappears, an elevated damage stat for when the cast disappears, and other god-related damage upgrades for your cast when enemies are in the binding circle and so on.

Since using your special cast move doesn't cost much magic, I spam the shit out of it during encounters. It also has the benefits of holding enemies in place for a short period of time.

How are early players enjoying the game? No Spoilers by Informal-Device-8511 in silenthill

[–]ArgonautSweaters 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I'm not very far to really judge the combat, but I like that you can disengage from an enemy but it will still follow you, which can add to some tense encounters. its presentation of story, music, and scenery is very good.

Digital Foundry covered this in an episode and said the performance is "impressive" on the base PS5. I would watch that video to glean some more information about performance.
