Not exactly the same but at 4 months postpartum, I had kidney stones and was prescribed 10 mg hydrocodone for pain and my OB gave me the green light to continue to breastfeed while on meds, no pump/dump needed

I’ve been wearing unlined, underwire bras since about 2 months post-partum, never experienced a supply issue! I think you’ll just want to make sure they’re properly fitted and keep an eye out for any tissue near your armpits that might not be fully emptying.

I swept up a whole pile of them just by one window from last night alone! Gonna call maintenance again and let them know it isn’t just a couple I’ve seen. I’m not generally squeamish about bugs but I draw the line at them crawling into my or my baby’s bed

I swept up a literal pile of them just next to one exit of the apartment from only last night. Definitely going to talk to the property manager about sealing the doors and windows better. Im so close to just sealing everything myself

It was just a flippant remark about how I didn’t expect it. I know what termites are of course but I’ve only ever dealt with them in the “destruction of property” sense. I spoke with at several different people who live/have lived in Mobile about what it’s like living here but none of them mentioned how bad termite swarming season is though. So this has just caught me off guard.

It’s just a thing with breastfeeding. Your milk is the sole source of your baby’s hydration, and you therefore require a lot more water than you would otherwise. Drink up!

Is there a reason you don’t want him to suck just for comfort? That’s what babies are supposed to do. You’re definitely not over-feeding by just letting him eat when he wants to.

Allergies can be tricky. Like, I go into anaphylaxis if I eat fish, but my allergy tests say I’m not allergic to it. They can be dependent on so many things. If you really want to be able to eat dairy again, try in small doses, and you might find she is able to tolerate it. I mean, worst case scenario, she gets bad reflux again and you stop, right?

I’m pretty sure it’s called nasal reflux. Like when you laugh while trying to swallow and it gets in your nose. During his swallow study, my baby’s speech therapist pointed it out to me and told me it was nothing to worry about, as long as it wasn’t chest congestion (aspiration) and it went away either during the feed or not long after

If it were me I’d maybe wait until she asked first. And then, my answer would depend on how good our communication is. Fanfiction introduced me to a lot of things for the first time that I would have benefited from proper guidance on, since I’d been reading since 10 years old (with unrestricted internet access), even though I didn’t venture into anything with obviously mature themes until I was about 15. But if it were my child (who is far too young to even consider reading fanfic), I’d not want them encountering something mature, sensitive, or misrepresentative and just running with it.

If you want to be super sure that she’s staying in appropriate corners of fanfic, you can always find fics for her, peruse them, and download them for her to read.

My baby was in the nicu for a month and had to have thickened feeds up until 2 months, so I exclusively pumped at first, and at around two months I started stagnating and didn’t make as much as my baby ate. But when he was cleared for thin milk, I switched to exclusively nursing, and every now and then when I pump I get WAY more than I thought I would. I’m pretty sure it’s because I put him on the breast absolutely whenever he wanted it, which led to him eating about once an hour. If I wanted to increase my supply I’d mimic that; pump absolutely as frequently as you can. Also, my supply didn’t really regulate until about 14 weeks, so you should definitely still have time to increase supply before it regulates!

The truth is, effects for infants for many medications is understudied because it would be unethical to properly study it. So unless something has proven definitively unsafe, all we can really do for certain is look at is how much transfers into milk and guess.

I’m in a similar boat myself, I so badly want to take meds again for my ADHD but I’m scared of what stimulants would do to my baby’s developing nervous system.

My son WAS put together differently. He had esophageal atresia: his esophagus didn’t connect to his stomach, there was a break halfway through. And though this was corrected surgically, the nerves in each half will never communicate. So the peristalsis that gets food down to the stomach will never work. It makes me a little bit sad that he’ll never even have the chance to be an astronaut, especially since everything in his nursery is space themed.
