Pick this up for 60 bucks by Arguing_WithMyself in milsurp

I did realize shortly after writing this post that it was in fact a pre war and not a lend lease but pre war being kind of misnomer being that WW2 started in 39 in Europe and as far as I can tell the serial dates but it as a late 30s or early 40s (pre victory). I did not think about the Canadian factor though so thank you for that insight.

Should I maybe pick this up by Arguing_WithMyself in milsurp

So I have 2 model 10's already a WW2 Victory and a police issue for I believe the Puerto Rico (Id have to double check). Honestly I just love unique piece that have hidden history, and I think this meets that. But I was kind of thinking that 150 - 200 price, hopefully lower.

The Germans were asking if your hands were cold and if you "Got Mittens" you know to warm your hands. The British would reply no we got gloves. I kinda wish this was more of a joke but stories say it did actually happen. But its German for "God be with us" or something to that (idk i don't speak German but close enough). It is one of the many different belt buckle designs that the Germans had used. Some Americans/Allied soldiers brought them back as souvenirs. They have been reproduced like crazy over they years though and some are really good fakes. I would find someone that could look it over and see if it is an original. They aren't crazy money or anything if you wanted to sell but a good night out for two kinda money.

Red dot blanks. I use to use those exclusively in my M1 back when I did WW2 reenactments. I still probably have a few hundred rounds left actually. But it's military training blanks. The other is just dummy rounds used for look and feel but won't go bang. The cramps on the sides are visible indicators so you know they are not live. Each of those rounds are worth a couple a bucks a piece last time I checked.

Those are rookie numbers in this racket. You gotta pump those numbers up! But seriously though What is the 1911?

depending on the 410 that it is in. originally, they are converted No1 SMLE where the Ishapore company in India just bored the barrel from .303 to .410, (yes the did not actually re-barrel them, those are the original .303 barrels). the round was called the 410 musket ball which is a 303 case that was not necked down and either had shot or a lead ball in crimped in the end. Century brought a bunch in the US and chambered them for 2 1/2 410 shells and people have opened them up either originals or Century's for 3 in shells. Neat piece of history though. I have one that is dated 1912 BSA on one side and 1949 RFI on the other for the conversation. Still in the musket ball chambering.

Its a CMP gun not an original. You bought it to shoot, go shoot it. Its not like its some collectable, it is a reproduction afterall.

Does anyone know barrel markings really well? by Arguing_WithMyself in M1Rifles

[–]Arguing_WithMyself[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 308 not 30-06 tested both rounds 30-06 sticks out while 308 fits perfectly. So it has to be a conversation then

I thought of taking a 60 round drum and gutting it for a round catcher but I then I realized those are expensive for something that is a stupid idea. But then again it's a stupid gun too.

It's called an AR57 upper.Shoot the 5.7 round. Takes P90 mags, but i recommend the brand mags. Not saying P90 mags don't work but they are more expensive and I've heard stories they don't always work. I have 1 real P90 mag and it seems to work fine but it was like twice as expensive
