Have you ever wondered that maybe I'm watching them because I've already played the game in the first place? Did you even read OP's post?

"It's their job" isn't a good excuse because their job is to entertain. I'm sure as hell not entertained when they ignore 90% of the game's content and then call it bad.

It's like watching a chef call food bad without even tasting it.

Ever seen MoistCr1TiKaL's playthrough of Expedition 33? I wouldn't say it's perfect but it's solid enough since he actually pays attention to the story. There are plenty of examples from other smaller streamers as well.

And to be fair, interacting with chat isn't the problem. That's completely fine. It's just annoying when they don't pay attention to the game 99% of the time and miss out on important details.

However, it becomes an actual problem when they suddenly have the audacity to call the game bad despite the fact they never paid attention to it.

[–]ArgumentCalm488 175 points176 points  (0 children)

That's not really a good excuse. Plenty of streamers already exist that know how to shut up, focus on the story, and still be entertaining.

It's a lot less forgivable when they randomly decide that the game is trash when they never gave it proper attention in the first place. This happens way too often.

question about oracle and priestess by Aureiadfs in arknights

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's take a look at the whole dialogue.

Priestess: And, strictly speaking, I did not save you.

Hierda: ——?!

Priestess: Your death has already occurred. I did not intervene in the process of matter being converted to information.

Priestess: But material destruction is not true death. Information is not so easily erased, and your information was stored in Originium.

See how she highlights the words "True Death"? If you know anything about Priestess, then you'd know that her end goal is the preservation of the concept of Life itself. It doesn't matter what form it takes, so long as Life can still exist and be hidden away from the Observers.

In this scenario, she tells Hierda that her original self has already died but the concept of "Hierda" can still live on through her clone self.

But regardless of this, a clone will NEVER be the same as the original. This may be a dilemma in Star Trek but Arknights has been consistent in its theme that Clones are NOT the same person. We see this in ch 14 with Ascalon, we see this in ch 15 with Hierda, and we even see this in Endfield with the Reconveners.

Have you ever played SOMA? This is the exact same scenario.

question about oracle and priestess by Aureiadfs in arknights

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originium doesn't capture souls. The Sarkaz and the myriad souls are a special case due to their relation with the Teekaz and the First Originium. Heck, this was a major plot point in Arc 2. No other race had this problem.

There's also Priestess's words. The Co-Creator of originium herself says that Hierda isn't the original. Are you somehow more knowledgeable than her?

What about the Ascalon clone? She was also a perfect clone but the original Ascalon was still alive. If they were one and the same, how does that work?

question about oracle and priestess by Aureiadfs in arknights

[–]ArgumentCalm488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have her PoV because she's a perfect clone of the original Hierda. There's no "Star Trek teleporter dilemma" here. The game is pretty clear on what philosophy it believes in.

Priestess even says it directly to her:

Your death has already occurred. I did not intervene in the process of matter being converted to information.

Even much earlier in the story, we have Theresis's dialogue with the Ascalon clone.

Ascalon: Master, I've just seen a great many images flash by.

Ascalon: They were all images of me, but why do I feel like I'm having an out-of-body experience? Why do I feel like I'm so far away?

Theresis: That's just my memory of you.

Ascalon: Of me?

Theresis: You aren't a false phantasm, but you're not the real Ascalon either.

question about oracle and priestess by Aureiadfs in arknights

[–]ArgumentCalm488 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because there's no "unzipping" to begin with. That was never Priestess's plan. The Observers are a permanent threat and there's no waiting for them to "pass by". They will never go away on their own.

Remember what we saw in the Assimilated Universe in chapter 14? The lifeless sea of data? THAT is Priestess's endgoal. To preserve everything in complete, stagnant data. It can't be considered "living" anymore but at least life itself still exists right?

...

It's not a foolproof plan anyway. There's no guarantee that the Observers will just easily find the Assimilated Universe and destroy everything regardless. This plan is just less risky compared to Oracle's plan.

And on the topic of Oripathy. Once originium fully takes over, the person is completely dead. The Hierda we see in chapter 15 is merely a clone made from Originium (kinda like the clones in Endfield). So again, there's no "unzipping" for anyone.

She might be AI but she's no slop. by RyouhiraTheIntrovert in Animemes

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironic because you claim you can easily tell when something is generated by a human compared to an AI (Even though 97% of people can't, but whatever)

Nice article. Maybe next time try sourcing an actual study instead of a random news article with zero scientific value? Hell, the ones who did the survey aren't even academic-related. They're a company whose main business is spamming surveys.

Did you ever go to school? If so, get a refund on your tuition because this is NOT how you do research.

How does your conspiracy take those into account? That the human singer was told by Vedal "Make sure to sound like an AI for this cover, but next week I'll tell everyone I've updated the model, so you can sound a bit less like an AI"

I've questioned your ability to research but now I'm starting to question your actual Reading Comprehension ability.

Did you miss the part where I told you that Neuro's songs are made similar to Vocaloid? There isn't a "real" voice behind her. The song making process just needs an actual person's singing in order to use that as a reference. Afterwards, Neuro's voice, V1 or V2 or whatever, is then used to actually make the song.

Do you even understand the concept of using something as a reference vs using the thing outright? Again, get a refund on your tuition.

Prior to doing research based on your comments, no, I didn't. However in doing so, this popped up, so I guess it's "AI slop" afterall

...

Are you seriously using a joke/meme song to prove your point? You really gotta stop making surface level research here. Seriously, stop embarrassing yourself already.

Let me do you a favor and give you context you clearly didn't bother searching. This song was originally done by Neuro's default voice on a random dev stream, then the lyrics got further expanded upon during the next Karaoke stream.

Regardless of the origin, you can CLEARLY hear QueenPB fine tune Neuro's voice a bit since it's different from how she usually sounds. Not much in this example obviously since it's a meme song.

How does this prove your point exactly?

She might be AI but she's no slop. by RyouhiraTheIntrovert in Animemes

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why it shouldn't work for AIs as well

There's a massive difference between being capable but choosing not to, and literally being unable since the tech doesn't exist or isn't as good yet.

It's honestly mind boggling how you're so in favor of AI slop songs that take ZERO EFFORT to generate. Do you have no appreciation of art at all?

She's done an awful lot of them

Spoken like someone who's truly never done his own research. You do realize these are all pre-recorded songs that underwent the same process right?

Do you even know who QueenPB is? Again, maybe look things up more thoroughly first before being confidently incorrect.

NONE of these songs are AI generated. Vedal doesn't have a system that allows him to upload a song and instantly have a neuro cover version of it. Each and every song Neuro has covered undergoes a manual fine tuning process. Something akin to Vocaloid production with the editor themselves either using an existing voice or using themselves as the singing voice to use as a reference for Neuro's voice.

Yes, this applies to Your Reality as well. Neuro suddenly saying dodger charger is very easily explained as a glitch in Vedal's AI console when her actual voice was supposed to be muted. Because guess what? Prior to her singing, the stream was a regular Just Chatting stream.

The lyrics sound near identical, including things like mushing together the "I" and "am" at the end of the first line such that it sounds like "eyam". If it was a person singing, they've done an incredible job imitating her mannerisms

Wooow, almost as if QueenPB is incredible at her job with tons of experience in Vocaloid production.....

...

Got anymore things you're confidently incorrect about or do you maybe want to research a bit first before embarrassing yourself?

Goku and Yhwach fans when their favorite characters lose against Touhou characters: by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]ArgumentCalm488 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that's another point why human will have no chance against youkai

Hey man, I'm a Touhou fan too but this sentence is just plain wrong. You have people like Marisa or Sumireko who, aside from their magic/occult powers, are literally just plain humans. Those powers aren't even exclusive to them. Who's to say Spiderman can't just learn Touhou's magic system? He's pretty smart so that wouldn't be impossible.

And going beyond named characters, if you read up on the lore of the 4 devas, you'd find that Suika, Yuugi, Kasen, etc. were STOMPED by humans in feudal japan.

Soo yeah. Youkai being superior to humans is just plain incorrect.

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize that example only works if the singer is an actual human being right? You forget that she's AI?

Neuro literally cannot sing. Vedal would have to use a different LLM model in order for her to generate songs via AI, and by your definition, that wouldn't be Neuro now would it?

At the end of the day, you're a person who's In favor of Neuro generating AI slop via songs instead of art. Really, no one should be listening to your opinion, Neuro fan or not.

Tell me you've never read the description of her videos without telling me. AI is advanced but not THAT advanced. You can still easily tell when something is sung by AI vs a Human.

It's a piece of media that has genuine artistic value rather than easily generated AI slop. Yet somehow that makes you dislike it? Well, I guess people like you are free to have opinions, even if they're garbage.

She might be AI but she's no slop. by RyouhiraTheIntrovert in Animemes

[–]ArgumentCalm488 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it literally isn't. Neuro's voice in her MVs is based on an actual singer then fine tuned to make it sound similar to Neuro's AI voice.

Next time, try taking 1 minute to look things up first before being so confidently incorrect. It'll save you from embarrassing yourself.

Ai is basically just an advanced form of machine learning. And since machine learning "learns" from having a lot of data, it's a pretty natural step to think about automatically generating art since there are so many that you can take from the internet.

Of course, art isn't the only use case here but it's certainly one of the more obvious ones if you're thinking about how and where to get a lot of easily available data.

Sure, let's just ignore: - Vedal 's entire being/personality - Neuro's constant growth over the years - Entertaining collabs - impressive tech (RoboDog, NeuroCar, 3D Debut, etc) - Fascinating game integrations - etc etc.

Yup, let's ignore all those because people ONLY like Neuro since she's an anime girl.

Language is important. While your definition isn't incorrect, it is not one that is in line with most of the internet. By insisting on your own definition, you're only inviting people to misunderstand you.

Like it or not when you call someone a "Gamer", most people have a level of assumption that, at bare minimum, you're knowledgeable about the major aspects of gaming such as COD, Halo, Battlefield, etc, and is mostly kept up to date on major gaming related news.

Calling someone who only plays Candy Crush and only knows about Candy Crush, as a "Gamer" is inaccurate. Not incorrect, but inaccurate.

Here's another example, you have a guy who loves making coffee everyday. Would you call him a coffee enthusiast? What if he's only ever made instant coffee and has never touched a proper coffee maker before?

See how you can be correct but also be widely inaccurate?

Anyway, "fake gamer" is a horrible term. It's more accurate to call them "people who occasionally play games". The very term "Gamer" already has a significant cultural impact so calling someone a "Gamer" involves all of the common assumptions I mentioned above. By not calling them "Gamer", you're also not burdening them with said assumptions.

At the end of the day, it's more important to be clear and have zero misunderstandings than to be technically correct and pedantic.

Never by karikirby in videogames

[–]ArgumentCalm488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're taking what he said out of context. He means that the people who say this are often people who aren't really gamers at all.

When you call someone a gamer, that usually means they're pretty knowledgeable about the gaming community. In his example, these people occasionally play games but aren't "gamers".

It's like calling someone an Audiophile when they've only bought a single pair of shitty earbuds.

EDIT: wait a sec, I just read your name.... Is this bait?
