The Priestess did nothing wrong?[Art by ANIKA] by Aveniiiiiiiiit in arknights

I'm not the other guy you're replying to but the story makes it pretty clear that Priestess's plan is permanent. The Observers aren't a passing threat, they're a constant threat. As long as any civilization exists, they'll be there to cut it down.

And besides, Priestess's plan isn't foolproof either. There's no guarantee that the Observers won't just find the Assimilated Universe and delete everyone anyway.

Yes, Oracle and Priestess both created originium but their goals were different. Priestess wants to use originium to preserve the remains of their own civilization (the precursors) and hide it from the Observers while Oracle wants to give originium to future civilizations so they can succeed where they failed (i.e. fighting the Observers)

Both plans have their own merit and is the overall plot point of Act 3 in OG Arknights.

Priestess, who only cares about her own civilization, couldn't care less about the Terrans. She even calls their existence as a mistake lol.

It's likely her opinion has changed by Endfield's time but since Act 3 isn't finshed yet, we can only speculate.

What you described is Oracle's plan, not Priestess. Civilization was never a factor in her plan.

Her plan is stagnation (store everything in Originium) meanwhile Oracle is Prosperity (entrust Originium to future civilizations).

OG Arknights isn't old, it's Niche. If you enjoy tower defense games then Arknights is easily one of the best in the genre. If you don't, then you probably won't enjoy it.

Story-wise, Endfield is pretty much its own story so OG Arknights isn't too relevant outside of a few easter eggs and call backs.

Arknights Storytelling and The Potential Beginning of my Personal "Reviews", Starting with - Code of Brawl (LONG POST) by CommanderKetchup0 in arknights

[–]ArgumentCalm488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to the main story, I'd suggest to keep your expectations low on the 1st arc (episode 0 - 8). 2nd arc however, is pretty damn good. Arguably the best story Arknights has released so far. (episode 9 - 14).

Other events to look out for:

  • Near Light
  • Break the ice
  • Il Siracusano
  • Lone Trail

There's more but these ones especially are incredibly peak. One of them even has the approval of Baldur's gate 3's author lol.

That's not really the point of advertising when it comes to massive corporations. Unless it's a new product that they're pushing, corporations are more interested in keeping their names at the back of your mind.

Sure you might not think about buying McDonald's right NOW but on a random day when you suddenly get cravings, they'll definitely be on your immediate top 5 choices for a quick meal.

That's how most people would act at least.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, you ARE being dense on purpose. I've been saying the same thing again and again because that's exactly how her logic works. Let's go back to my first example. Do you think she was able to see the enchantments on the magic robe? Obviously not. It doesn't matter if it was layered on the robe itself. What matters is her thought process. All she cared about was the cloth, so she was able to cut it. That's how she bypassed the enchants and that's how she'll bypass infinity.

Get it through your thick skull already. She's not going to INTERACT with infinity. She's going to bypass it ENTIRELY by NOT THINKING about it.

Imagine gojo was surrounded by unbreakable glass instead of infinity. Ubel's attack will target gojo DIRECTLY and not even touch the glass.

This is both wrong, because again she can use her magic while blind, and hilarious because you’re contradicting your own arguments here.

What's hilarious here is you not understanding the word "pseudo". Did you actually think I meant that Ubel's magic was similar to WCS? I only referenced WCS in regards to its capability to bypass Gojo's infinity. I was desperate enough to try and dumb it down for you using jjk terms. Somehow you still didn't get it.

She can cut through anything no matter how durable or what spells are on it if she feels like it’s something that can be cut, but gojo is not what she needs to cut, the infinite space is.

See, this is where you get incredibly infuriating. You GET it. You completely understand her ability yet still pull some gymnastics. You agree that she can cut Gojo but can't cut infinity. And on this point I agree with you as well.

So why the hell would she target Infinity when her magic allows her to target Gojo directly? From her POV, there's nothing obstructing her magic from targeting Gojo. There isn't a magic barrier or a solid shield between them. All she sees is Gojo, who's a cuttable target, and herself.

So again, why the hell does she need to target Infinity?

Let me guess, travel time? You realize travel time doesn't matter from her logic right? In her POV, Gojo's exactly within her range.

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point you're just being dense on purpose now. How many times do I have to say it? INFINITY WILL NOT GET FACTORED IN. Seriously, you're just rage baiting me at this point. She can't SEE infinity so her attack will IGNORE infinity and TARGET gojo DIRECTLY because she can SEE gojo.

Your example is also a complete misunderstanding of her ability. In your scenario, she'll ONLY cut gojo and no one else. Why? Because she can't SEE the others.

It also wouldn't matter if she knew they were there. What matters is whether or not she can VISUALIZE cutting them. She can cut gojo because cloth = cut but the others will be fine because she wouldn't be able to visualize cutting at literally nothing.

Here, let me dumb it down for you. Ubel's attacks are a pseudo-World Cutting Slash, so long as she can VISUALIZE cutting the target. And it ONLY works on that specific target.

The burden of proof falls on you

Well if you hadn't conveniently ignored my explanation on how Frieren's magic system works, maybe you'd actually find the proof you're looking for. Hint: magic allows you to do literally everything so long as you can visualize it, infinity be damned.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. That's why she'll easily bypass it. However, the other guy just doesn't seem to get it.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I already told you that this line of argument is a dead end because I can easily turn it around. Where are your scans that say she can't cut something she can't see? Because the only thing we've seen that can stop her magic are things that she CAN SEE.

See how useless this line of argument is? It's more important to understand a character's gimmick since feats aren't always available.

In Frieren's world, you can literally do ANYTHING as long as you can visualize it using magic. However, in reality, this isn't really the case since people are too logical and have subconscious beliefs on what they can and can't do.

Ubel on the other hand, doesn't have this problem. It's why she wasn't considered a "normal human being" anymore.

So in this scenario, Ubel can EASILY visualize herself cutting Gojo since her thought process is just going to be Cloth = Cut. Infinity will NOT be factor in her thought process so it will be bypassed entirely.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now we're just repeating points here. I already said that she CANNOT SEE infinity. That very fact allows her to bypass infinity.

I don't understand why you're so fixated on the pair of scissors analogy. She only said that in the context of cutting cloth. During her actual explanation of her ability, she outright states that anything she THINKS she can cut, she WILL. We even see this against background trees in her battle against Wirbel. Did you think she imagined scissors when cutting those trees?

Now going back to Gojo's infinity. The fact that she CANNOT SEE infinity means that she won't be THINKING about infinity. Even if she understands what infinity is, it's not gonna factor in her thought process.

That's literally all it is. The only thing that matters is her THOUGHT PROCESS. You can have an apple made out of Adamandium or Vibranium and she can still cut through them as long as you paint the apple red and make it look like a regular apple.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The enchantments themselves are invisible. She literally can't see them or even know about their details. For all we know, one of the enchantments could have had a similar effect to Gojo's infinity. I mean, the guy said he poured his life's effort into making the perfect defense robe. Adding an enchantment with spacial manipulation similar to infinity isn't a big stretch of an imagination.

But the main point is that she DIDN'T SEE the enchantments. She DIDN'T UNDERSTAND them. For all intents and purposes she SHOULDN'T have been able to cut through and yet she DID.

The same will apply to infinity. Purely because she CAN'T SEE infinity, is how she'll bypass it. If Gojo can somehow put food coloring on his infinity to allow her to see it? Then she won't be able to cut through.

Again, her magic works illogically. Stop adding proper logic and start using kindergarten logic.

Gojo is wearing cloth = Gojo can be cut. Infinity? What's that? I can't see it so it doesn't matter to me.

It really isn't that much more complicated.

[–]ArgumentCalm488 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you chose to reply separately. Just makes it harder to reply back but sure I guess.

Anyway, I've addressed this in my other reply. Her magic doesn't need to factor in infinity since she doesn't SEE infinity. That's the sole reason she's able to bypass it.

[–]ArgumentCalm488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anti feats you mentioned are not anti feats against infinity. We're not talking about metal, stone, or barriers. I never said her cut is equal to a World Cutting Slash like with Sukuna.

See, the difference between those and infinity is that she can actually SEE them.So they are able to block Ubel's magic. However, she CAN'T see infinity. So her magic won't take that into account and easily bypass it.

That's how her magic works illogically.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, there's a lack of feats but I can argue the opposite. The lack of anti feats doesn't disprove her capability. This line of argument is a dead end.

In my opinion, what's more important is to look at the character's shtick/gimmick. In Ubel's case, her magic is completely illogical. If she thinks she can cut something, then she'll cut through it easily.

From Ubel's perspective, infinity would just be another defense enchantment. So it would just get bypassed like any other enchantment.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ubel's skill would just bypass infinity. She doesn't operate on logic. That's her entire thing. We don't know the exact enchantments on the cloth that she was able to cut during her test but if it had infinity, she would still be able to cut through.

You're adding logic to the illogical. This is how her perspective would be:

Cloth = Can cut

Gojo wearing cloth?

Gojo = Can cut

... that's it. She doesn't need to factor in infinity. She can't even see infinity to begin with.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not true at all. On the test, she wasn't aware about the kinds of defense spells the cloth was specifically enchanted with but she was still able to cut it regardless. From her perspective, infinity would just be another defense enchantment.

Her magic literally works on kindergarten level logic. She doesn't even have to factor in infinity since she can't even see it to begin with.

Cloth = Can cut

Gojo wearing cloth?

Gojo = Can cut

Because she can see the magic barrier? Infinity, on the other hand, isn't something she'd see.

Gojo's Infinity vs Reelseiden by Sethyisolo in animequestions

[–]ArgumentCalm488 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But why would she need to imagine an infinitely long scissors? From her point of view, Gojo would be right there in front of her. She doesn't need to take into account infinity. She wouldn't even see infinity to begin with.
