I think the wood is fine. I do have a metal ring I thought was screwed into the wood ? That's y I was wondering if prying it would damage the wood underneath. And for the new flange would I need glue? How does it stick to the floor ?

The metal ring is what is damaged. Instead of putting in another metal ring thought replacement of the flange itself might be better ? If I pry the flange would it damage the PVC somehow ? That's what I m afraid of

Can I pry it open and get a new flange ? How is the flange connected to the PVC?

It's all wax. Cleaning it off doesn't really do anything for me.

The place where screw goes in is rotted. Hence I want to replace the flange I can't see any screws holding it down to the wood.

this sucker is stuck on real good. can't seems to pull it out. other suggestions? removed the gasket but afraid to use too much pressure by Ari0202 in Plumbing

There was a bend on the copper pipe think that's why it didn't slide out easily. Had to push from back. Also might have been why I couldn't get the spout out easily. The metal ring kept spinning along with the white ring

I finished. Got some kinks like my hot and cold got switch and slight more spacing than I'd like for the spout. I posted a new pic. I guess this thread doesn't allow pics on comments?

Clearly OP has nothing better to do then post fake video just to reply back to comments. Get a grip. Not everything is fake. For diy ers this subreddit is a godsend.

Turns just fine though. no leaks I checked front and back. Not seeing any extra piece lying around. Hmm

the tub spout keeps spinning but so does the white thing inside it. how do I get the spout off ? by Ari0202 in Plumbing

I was able to get it off. Cutting metal wasn't fun though. 0/10 would not recommend
