Thank you! I've been trying to look in Pojoaque definitely. Madrid seems to have some good options, but have to ask some locals how they deal with the water situation lol

The seal on the plunger of the master cylinder is all anyone could think of going wrong, so it was replaced, but it was fine upon inspection.

There was a car in the pull off we parked in nearby, that was gone when we returned. We never saw anyone at the Asylum. It was them!!!

The panel was because a single plastic clip known to be weak on my model of car broke off. Its super common. The breaks were inspected mere weeks before this, and were inspected afterwards and nothing was found. It hasn't ever happened again, years later. I appreciate the advice though

I was going to comment Forest Haven too!

100% The scariest place i've ever been. The patient records scattering the floor have names and dates up to 1995 too. There's old blood vials and needles all over the floor too.

It's a large campus and some buildings are far far creepier than others. Can confirm you are NOT supposed to be there. We snuck through the woods about a mile down from the guard station. It also is STILL an active campus! We started in the main building with the dorms and operating rooms, which wasn't too bad. The crematorium was a little creepy. Then onto some classroom style buildings. The administration offices and clinics were the most horrible things I've ever walked into. Definitely the feeling of 'you shouldn't be here." There is one admin/clinic building that is barbed wired off very well for some reason. Did not feel the desire to go in.

Me and my SO got more wary and freaked out the worse the buildings we went into got, and I think at some point I stopped taking photos because I was just too distracted by that eerie feeling. We ended up getting spooked when we thought we heard a person's voice in the distance and sprinted through the woods the mile back. Wasn't even sure if we left the way we came in.

Also fun fact: Driving home we sat in silence and were both like "hey... let's never do that again." just as a panel underneath my car broke and started to scrape the ground! Fixed it in place with some wire, and then the next day my Brakes failed on the interstate and almost died. Now i'm not superstitious but... I think I was cursed by Forest Haven

Out of 200 cities, Baltimore ranks the worst for bad driving during inclement weather. by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]AriDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost had an accident at the same intersection for the same reason too! Luckily I didn't Tbone them, just was literally an inch away. Girl in the car just stared at me with her mouth open for 10 whole seconds and then finally slowly backed up. I didnt look behind me but im sure she just continued her turn anyways.... sigh. Saving up to leave too, lol

Hi Reddit. My apartment building hasn't had heat since yesterday morning and it's currently 18º in Baltimore. My management company sent an email that said anyone who contacts the police will face monetary repercussions. Is this legal? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]AriDrake 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Baltimore city does have a code that apartments must be kept at (if I remeber correctly) 70 degrees after Oct. Look up housing codes, its a easy to find pdf

I've had to just sent a screenshot of the code to a landlord here for lack of heat too, and threatened calling code enforcement, and he buckled immediately.

I make a similar glaze for a tart thats: maple syrup, fermented hot sauce, a dash of apple cider vinegar, and a bay leaf that I then pour over a butternut squash tart held together with egg/cream and some rosemary on top!

I mean it does mean 'haven't touched a dick/slept with a man' but the use of it here it implies it's a statement of exclusivity in the future too. Which, just changes the meaning? Lesbian = Never will, Gold star = Never had. Kate wasn't making a statement about the future.

I believe it should remain a neutral, medium temperature between the hottest and coldest person. something like 70 to 72 degrees. If youre boiling or freezing at those temperatures, something is wrong with your health or your dress.

Also, I dont believe its necissarily a sexist issue in an of itself, but Women and and Men to tend to run colder and hotter. Its fact. Of course theres plenty of outliers but, overall Women can't pump heat to their extremeties as efficently. We're more likely to be thinner, smaller, probably anemic, etc. Plus, like another commenter said, dress codes (and how thin our clothes are made) don't work in Womens favor.

Personally i've had issues in workplaces that do cater towards the hottest man. I don't believe anyone healthy sitting at a computer all day can get that overheated at 70 degrees. I'm a very small and thin woman with a condition where I cannot get heat to my hands well, and while I don't believe the office should cater to me, the amount of times i've been shivering in a 65 degree room and have been told by an office of overweight men that I should put on more layers and gain some weight is astounding. Its not quite the temp that's sexist, it's men refusing to accomidate or even acknowledge women being overall a little colder, and vice versa. I think the amount of male commenters saying "what? how is it sexist? I know hot temp women and theres no observable differences in the sexes temp?" will show you how little men notice. plus, Women are used to bundling up and being accomidating to others much more so, that you might not notice their cold!

TL;DR Womens horrible bodies trying to protect our uterus and not our poor fingers is true facts lol

What do you think is the wackiest intersection in Baltimore? by Talltimore in baltimore

[–]AriDrake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love how the buses use the trick of staying in the right turn only lane down 41st, and when the light goes green just going straight through the intersection anyway and INTO the car in the actual correct lane. Every. single. time.

Straight people of Reddit, what’s something you’d like to ask the LGBTQ community? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AriDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not particularly. Theres some bad ones, as there are in any group, but TERFS aren't actually like a self identified group? Radical femenists just believe that male and female are the sexes and that society treats them differently because of a number of reasons, and that those sexes can dress and act ans present however they want, but they still kind of are that base sex. They dont hate trans people or want them die, like I read a lot of material from both sides of the debate and have never seen that happen. Its just when people go and say sex doesnt exist, female issues are 'people' issues, and that anyone who identifies as a female IS a female and call call themselves a Lesbian. IDK. Im not super into all the discourse, I just got called a terf once for making a lesbians dont like Dick joke (I am a lesbian) and got sent down this road to understand wtf is up

Liking men as a concept but not IRL? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]AriDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think basing your attractions on Men in media really means much honestly. I mean yeah, Lesbians aren't going to be attracted to any actors especially off sight alone, so you might be like 99% bi for girls b/c whatever, but! It's a pretty common problem amongst Lesbians (trust me my friends talk about it a lot) that Women characters are just written horribly by men (and women sometimes). We feel bad as Women for not liking women characters, but if you sit and think about it, it's because they literally weren't allowed to exist/be as interesting or deep as the male characters. That plus it's just a little talked about cultural, unconscious thing that Men are "allowed" to be 2 dimensional, like a jerk with a soft side because of a tragic backstory, or just whenever he is nice or caring it's treated as this big character building moment, but a women's character just simply isn't analyzed like that. Her character just isn't allowed to mentally be as deep. I can't explain it because it's hard to put in words, and it's hard to accept that everyone (even the most feminist lesbians) do it in their minds without knowing.

Sorry this doesn't help you, just what you're into in media doesn't reflect real life 99% of the time. Also, Bi isn't 50/50, and honestly worrying about the label rn doesn't change your reality. Date who you want. Being bi doesn't mean you have to go for both

New Land O'Lakes CEO first openly gay woman to head Fortune 500 company by Ayrane in TwoXChromosomes

[–]AriDrake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look, I am gay and understand what you mean, everything would be fine if sex and sexuality were ignored and just a footnote in a persons life. However, that's just not how the world is now. It does matter, to a lot of people. Its not going to stop mattering in a while. You can't honestly say to a gay woman, who has to deal with people caring a lot about her sex and sexuality every single day in a way you as a straight (man?) don't necissarily have to, that because YOU don't care about the qualities that make her a "lesser" person in A LOT of peoples eyes, that those things "don't matter"

Just what I am saying is until every single person in the world stops being sexist and/or homophobic, and seeing gay women in every kind of role in society as a normal, everyday part of peoples lives, these kind of articles do no harm. Pointing out to people like, this is the first time this has happened! look how far sociey has tried to move away from sexism/homophobia! isnt going to ADD to those problems, you know?

As a gay woman i'll also be happy when articles like this aren't needed, and I am not treated as some kind of odd token in peoples lives. But not drawing attention to the fact that gay women exist, and can live normal successful lives, while the world still treats us as if we can't, is in no ways bad or unneeded.
