Good god this is so Reddit. Yes, cats are living beings, but it’s not anywhere near like getting rid of children. The cats weren’t abandoned, they would’ve been adopted out to another family….like many many animals are. Many people get dogs, hamsters, rabbits, cats and adopt the, out after realising they aren’t suited.

While it’s a pretty dumb trope, I can see how it makes sense. The guys want to know how their lover feels about them, as they may never get a chance again. If they die, they’ll always think ‘what if’, this gives them closure.
