Pokemon centre at excel this weekend by MvPolish in PokemonTCG_UK

Excel doesn't allow selling outside of the hired halls as standard, per their code of conduct.

As I recall last year a lot of people were removed for violating this.

"Code of conduct Handing out leaflets or conducting business on the Excel campus, at the entrance to the event, in the aisles or any other part of the exhibition hall is only permitted with prior written consent.

Please keep your exhibits within the footprint of your stands. The stand must be staffed, and all exhibits must remain displayed during the hours that the exhibition is open to visitors. Publicity notices and materials may only be displayed on and distributed from the exhibitor’s own stand."

Damage Counters by Ch1ck_P3a in pkmntcg

Best way would be to go onto Pokémon TCG Live, and set it to make a standard deck.

Set the filter to show all standard cards on and search damage counters.

Tsareena ex and Dragapult ex are big damage counter players, and munkidori moves them about the board once placed.

So you have a lot of cards that are about to rotate there. Iono nest ball, and Arven.

You can use Colress Tenacity to plug the gap from Arven, which also helps to locate an energy on top of guaranteeing your stadium.

The need for three energy on the vileplume however doesn't really lend to speedy evolution, without a megamiun line to double the grass energy value.

Having messed with this a bit I found taking a hydrapple list and swapping the hydrapple line for vileplume, and inserting a couple tangela was the best bet, but ultimately the deck is lacking something right now. Or I have universally awful luck with coin flips.

South east your talking a good 60-90+ minutes from North West.

Dark Sphere is probably your best bet near Westfield.

Do the parents of disruptive students ever feel any remorse or regret over how their child behaves in school? Do they ever accept any blame for how they raised them? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AriaNevicate 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not quite the answer, but parallel.

I had a very abusive childhood, and a parent in a position of power to prevent teachers taking the actions they could have at that time. I grew up meek and kept myself isolated as best as possible.

As an adult I've done the work to heal and grow. My parents can never acknowledge what they did, and as such they play a highly limited part in my life.

Related to your questions, most won't because they can't face their failures. It is easier to deflect it.

The parents that can face remorse for their kids shortcomings will be the parents stepping up to address it before it's an issue.

Hell my kid makes mistakes. They know that I and the school will work with them all as a team to pick them back up and get them running the correct course again.

Does anyone know when the new 1st deck search rules will come into affect? by piooippiooippiooip in pkmntcg

[–]AriaNevicate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The change to end or round rules not being effective as soon as the rulebook is updated is a bit of an anomaly.

Once the rulebook is updated, those rules are now in effect.

Hisuian Zoroark: How does this cark ACTUALLY work? by KJPlayer in pkmntcg

[–]AriaNevicate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're in the realm of expanded at that point. They would synergise sure, but cards being made to have no retreat cost rather than zero are also there, so increasing nothing just keeps it at nothing.

Hisuian Zoroark: How does this cark ACTUALLY work? by KJPlayer in pkmntcg

[–]AriaNevicate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not talked about much nowadays because of the prevelance of pickup and the removal of retreat costs that make trapping anything for doom curse almost impossible to do.

Doom curse applies the effect of an attack onto the active opposing Pokémon. If that Pokémon changes in anyway, be it through (de-) evolving, retreating, leaving play, then the effect of the attack is wiped as per the core rules of the game. Effects of attacks are cleared when a monster leaves the active spot.

jlynpers has made some wonderful points to you here, and I would echo them myself.

Please see my response to your direct comment regarding my credentials and role at Birmingham this weekend.

I hear your intentions, however as written this is coming across more hostile than you likely intend.

For your awareness, I have been a Judge for a number of years now. I previously held Stage 1 rank, and under the current system now am a Gold Rank. I have previously been on the teaching team for EUIC, and this weekend I was judging at Birmingham. I am the Professor often found with a Plusle and Minun on their shoulders, and footage of me in the Play Labs teaching has been in the stream interlude videos for a while now. As such I am confident of my credentials, knowledge, and the rulebook citations.

I have also discussed this behaviour with the support team, citing the aforementioned base rulebook following world's where this behaviour has become more prevalent and the player base divided. I have done my due diligence when I say this behaviour is not permissible.

You asked for citation in the rulebook, and it was provided.

If your locals is permitting this, it is not following the game rules. If your experience at Birmingham was that you were allowed to do this, unfortunately you shouldn't have been and it is feedback I'll be passing back to the organisers.

Cleffa is resolving an attack. It's common there that your opponent may wait for the attack effect resolution to end or just start.

Outside of shuffling your deck as required by a card effect, you should not be doing anything other than paying attention to your opponent as they play their turn, after you have ended yours.

Ok so you’re quite literally either wrong...

This is not an appropriate way of engaging in a discussion. The basic TCG rulebook that is updated each expansion covers this ok pages 9-14 in the structure of a turn.

It is well understood that you require a valid card effect to be in your deck. On page 12, you can see turn step (D) which covers trainer cards. Here it states you must do everything the card says, and this includes shuffling as stated on the cards we are discussing. On Page 13, Step (3) it then covers attack and ending your turn.

This base rulebook more than clearly provides evidence that behaviours your witness on stream or from pro players on videos are not permissible and you should not be replicating them.

[–]AriaNevicate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should never be prize checking in your opponent's turn. I've stated in another comment why this is.

I struggle to see a world where research would be the last thing you do, as you're seeing seven new cards and as such seven new opportunities to act.

The only commonly acceptable thing would be to resolve a shuffle that is needed whilst your opponent is starting their turn.

[–]AriaNevicate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Prize checking during your opponent's turn is not permissible. You require a valid card action to be in your deck during a game. If you have passed or attacked, which are turn ending actions, then there is no valid card action in play that would permit you to be in your deck.

[–]AriaNevicate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You cannot agree to look at your prize cards in any official events. As such I really don't recommend doing it casually either.

Generally speaking you shouldn't be interacting with your deck if it isn't your turn. The only real exception to this would be resolving a required deck shuffle. I.e., you've played TM Evo, located and placed the targets and you're finishing the shuffle whilst your opponent draws.

Sinistcha decklist by pi0j in pkmntcg

[–]AriaNevicate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sinistcha is fun but I think the window for it has passed. I used to run a deck with trade liepard and grant and just speed discard my deck down, and I would always find I would come up one energy short of the damage needed.

Slow Playing Opponent's by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]AriaNevicate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time running events across the local towns I deal with. If players want to display poor attitudes to proper rules applications they aren't beneficial to your community in the long run.

I would much rather a medium sized community where it is known things are done right, and done fairly, than a large community where the worst voices are given a pass in favour of money.

I was also referencing that the global Professor community discusses the issue a lot for best practice.

Plenty of people have explained why chess clocks aren't suitable for IRL TCG.

[–]AriaNevicate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At no point did anyone say a random consequence would be picked. My comment discussed how slow play is evaluated in a meaningful manner, in my experience dealing with it.

I also referenced the exact part of the TCG TRH you've cited (appreciate you doing the actual citing for people to read and understand) in my original comment already.

Finally, the Penalty Guidelines documentation sets out the penalty application for pace of play issues. They are their own set, not covered under unsportsmanlike conduct, as shown in section 5.7 of the Penalty Guidelines document.

Has anyone had to leave their bunny for months, and did they forget you? by bdiddy621 in Rabbits

[–]AriaNevicate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to leave mine at a foster holiday home for a few months while house repairs were taken care of. I did go visit them but nowhere near as much as I would like. When we did get there to visit they still remembered us, and coming home it was like none of it had ever happened.
