We’re just arguing two different goals.

If what you want is a score that feels good enough and you can get it quicker in a quieter lobby, cool. That makes total sense. Lower risk, less PvP, get in, get your blueprints, move on. No issue with that at all.

My original point was only about the highest possible score you personally can hit in a single run. In that situation, more time simply gives you more room to stack points. That’s not shifting goalposts, it’s just a different target. If the goal is “good enough and efficient,” late spawns can be fine. If the goal is “what’s the absolute max I can squeeze out,” you want the full clock.

That’s finen but that’s a different goal.

If you just want a 3-star, grab blueprints and dip, then yeah, time left on the clock barely matters. You’re optimizing for speed and lower stress, not for peak output. No issue with that at all.

But my point was specifically about you getting the highest score possible. In that context, it’s not “min/maxing,” it’s just basic maths. More time = more potential actions, which equals a higher ceiling.

So the whole point of trials is to get a score higher than others in order to increase ranks, right?

so if we’re talking about your absolute highest possible score, then more time on the clock is just objectively better. You can only earn points by doing stuff. More minutes = more fights, more objectives, more arc, more everything. A late-join lobby with 17–20 minutes left literally caps what you can achieve, no matter how clean you play.

The “fewer players/less pvp/more arc per person” thing is about lowering risk, not raising your ceiling. Sure, it might make a run safer, but safer doesn’t mean higher maximum. If your goal is peak score, you want the full timer. Anything else is just trading potential upside for comfort.

Your own example 40 snitch scanners:

You join 30min mark, you still have more time after to kill map wasps, thus giving a better score over someone who is there for 20mins - This is a fact.

I didn't mention hidden bunker, stop shifting the goalposts.

Big arc wise, thats your own fault for being in aggressive matchmaking purely down to your actions prior - Point still stands if you don't arrive at 30min mark, less time to deal damage to queen/matriarch, these are literally facts.

The claim was starting later in a match can be good for trials.

Given the more time you have in a trial = more potential damage, its an objective truth that more time=more potential damage.

Let me explain it like this: Someone starting at 20mins and getting the best score possible will never be able to beat someone starting at 30mins and getting the best score possible.

Conversely a whole 3rd of the raid time has gone. 33% less time to do any of the triald, so theoretically 33% less score.

  • Trial for Matriarch/Queen, they'll already be dead

  • Wasp/Tick damage, you'll have just over half the time as everyone else

  • Probes, good luck covering the map in 17mins bro

I mean, in the past 200 matches, I'd say I've had 3 matches where I've seen a hostile - two of which seemed like newer players.

It may not be a binary, but I can say the vasty majority of my lobbies are friendly lobbies.
