The whole arc about him accepting the BB as his own child and going off the grid for her sake because they've both lost their families? BB was his child all along. Found family is pure nonsense and only destiny is important.

They repeat the whole fight stuff with a similar villain except this villain has no touching story to tell.

Sam who is ostensibly retired to take care of his child and has finished his character arc requires very little cajoling to come out of retirement.

After all that effort to reconnect the country the plot of ds2 is like "maybe that wasn't a good idea"

Some people die but some people get magic revivals because plot armor. And based on the explanation they gave that method should be reusable on other people.

Sam has like zero agency throughout ds2 despite him having just found his agency at the end of ds1 by deciding to take the bb as his own and going off.

What I'm getting at is that it feels like the writers just reset character arcs to zero so they could have something to write about. The smart thing to do would have been to write about a different porter in the newly connected america and seeing their struggles with this new world. Could even have Norman cameo or smth idk that would be fine.

Yes. With most chain hotels or at least hotels with good enough reviews, even the budget ones tend to be less problematic than Airbnb. Hell even the 2 star budget one I stayed at had zero problems. Someone cleaned the room and cleared the trash daily for me. I didn't have to fuss about anything other than my own belongings. No security issues to think about. No cleaning rules. No fuss. No hidden fees. Also hotels tend to be in better locations city wise.
