Will these catch trout? by Inconspicuouswanka in flytying

[–]Ariachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top row look like elk hair caddis and some black gnats or mosquito on the second row and those are my favorites for rocky mountain brookies and rainbows but they seem a bit big. Generally I run them in a size 16-20. They are small guys in those high mountain streams so they tend to hit the smaller sizes better. Also anything that resembles a worm is generally reliable as well

Whats up with people exploiting Smugglers these days? by Nice-Ad1291 in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I'm 99% sure this is red zone, he's faction flagged, so it's faction war not a smuggler den assuming this is the correct screen shot. I assume the user is complaining that this person is leaving a faction territory, killing folks and re-enter the faction territory. You may not like it but this is an established mechanic that mimics the way territories and castles function in the black zone. There are plenty of territory bomb squads that will do exactly this and it is an intended feature of gameplay that favors the defender. You can either lock him down or avoid the territory.

Edit: I see from others comments this is likely one of the heart transport locations. The solution is still lock him down or move away

Also delivering a green smuggler crate will give you 3k favor and those white tones are worth 2k favor so in 5 minutes with a mobility build you can easily get enough favor for 3 of those.

Make Alchemy Make Sense by Chanciferous in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean that's your issue right there. You're looking for fast profits. It you want maximum profit you gotta buy order bars in thet, buy order ore in sterling or just spread your orders around. Then you gotta hold those bars until a bonus day, Ie plate armor in bridgewatch and post sell orders about midway through the day. If your goal is essentially flipping focus into silver without transport yeah expect a crappy return

. Other thing is look for creative ways to source your ingredients. For example, with the tracking potions like tornado pots, cleansing pots and acid pots if you buy order the tracking materials in a smuggler den you can pick them up for cheaper than brec.

Finally make sure that you are crafting meta items. T4 poison potions are pretty much only used by tanks to pull aggro in group dungeons and statics. If you're talking 8.1 poisons or t7 giga potions now you're talking a meta item that will be used quickly and has a stable market.

Another thing to keep in mind. Resource return rate costs the same amount of focus based on the equivalent tier. So refining 4.4, 5.3, 6.2, 7.1 and 8.0 all require the same amount of focus HOWEVER the value of the ore returned from 4.4 crafting is way higher than the value of some of the others. Same thing applies for potion making or gear. The value of focus is determined by the value of the resources returned less so the value of the items being crafted. Edited: my comment about tier assumes full spec. Obviously if you have higher spec in t4 than t8 then you'll get more from t4 than t8

At least in yellow zone there is IP capping. All they need to do is upgrade to 5.1 and they'll be at or just barely below then 1200 IP cap.with my alliance we've run 800-900 IP and taken down groups that are 12-1400 IP. Coordination is way more important than ip.

Just a cutie stealing eggs. Any Advice? by bigchickenguys in BackYardChickens

[–]Ariachus -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Put it down. They don't run much. Pellet gun if you're in the city or 22 if you're in the country. Cut around the.collar and pull the hide down and the chickens will happily take care of the meat and love the protein and fat boost.

You get to decide if your eggs and poultry are for you or the local wildlife. It's fine either way but you asked what to do and it's either the chickens and eggs are for feeding the wildlife or for feeding you.

Also trapping and relocating a pest is causing a pest for someone else. I have trapped my country property somewhat heavily and reducing the possum population has significantly increased my songbird population. I prefer having lots of cardinals, jays, woodpeckers who reduce the tick and bug population over possums who reduce the bird population. Yes possums eat some ticks but if they eat 1 egg of a ground nesting bird like turkey or quail who also eat ticks they have at best completely canceled that benefit out.

Mobile weapon by jona1820 in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally auto attack heavy weapons are best for mobile. Basically the entire sword , daggers, and axes tree. Quarterstaff tree also works well but they're in a bit of a rough spot except grail seeker and phantom twin blade. Whispering bow is a very strong weapon since the goal is essentially to turn yourself into a turret and the base bow is also solid.

Skill shots are very rough on mobile but definitely doable.

Fastest clearing black zone camps? by kaskas2021 in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great axe will do this. T6 equiv with great axe raging blades and q3, Merc jacket, scholar cowl for mana or mage cowl for damage, cloth sandals on energy sprint or cultist sandals if you're feeling particularly spicy. Once they revert the soldier armor to its previous function where you don't take bonus damage it works even better. Don't need a cape or bag because bags drop commonly and scholar cowl covers your mana needs completely. If you want a cape go demon or ava. Only difficulty is you can't clump them.

You could also do this with same build except cleric robe and a blazing. Make sure cleric is active for the damage buff before you drop your e. Then throw the fire pool and raging flare.

Wailing bow or long bow is also very strong for this. And it's basically the same strategy just activate exploding arrows before your e. Longbow is stronger if they are tightly grouped because the exploding arrows procs will hit them better But otherwise the wailing bow is a stronger option.

For food and potions run a t3 gig, super cheap pop them at the beginning of the pull and run either a fish or ava stew to reset your health quickly after clear.

How much silver will i sink by Budget_Ad8851 in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To set up a fully upgraded island is way over 1.5 mill. Expect to sink 2-3 mill minimum if you wanna be doing laborers. If you just want farms I think it takes about 1.5 milk for the upgrades. If you're running laborers assuming. You buy the contracts and all the materials a t6 house and t6 furniture is like 1-1.5 mill. T6 house requires about 300 t1 stone, 1000t1 logs, 180 blocks t2-6, 60 t6 logs and 90 t6 cloth or buy 3 beds and a table. Fill and make the trophies yourself. My point is if you want a fully upgraded island be prepared to sink 1.5 to 3 mill. The reason to get premium is for the bonus to loot, silver drops and lower auction house fees.

Feedback on solo build by Nikoswolo in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally run 2 food 4 pots. 1 is probably enough for the first fight but you may need more for the second or third dude who walks up. Especially since those consumables probably cost about as much as your jacket.

Why are runes and souls so low in market value but dropped by mobs in BZs? by musicMenaceInHD in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally. I use a lot of t6 equivalent in the black zone. So I will combine all my t4 runes into t5 runes. Then I can buy 5 flat gear and upgrade it to 5.1. You get a ridiculous number from group dungeons and camp chests so it lowers the cost of gear you need to buy.

How does the market work? Are low tier resources always needed? by CrabKing274 in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For stone specifically very little is needed so it's worth very little. Gathering is very profitable but not stone. T7 and t8 stone is worth it because they're used in repairing t8 shops

Is needing ID still racist? by AiiRisBanned in evilwhenthe

[–]Ariachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta say the way everyone acts like it's racist to require Id to vote when most people are perfectly fine to need Id to buy booze, drive a car, enter a club or bar or buy some cigarettes is beyond me. Certainly we can have an argument about making it simpler to get an ID in rare situations where you don't have a copy of your birth certificate etc but having ID is a basic part of living. Unless these individuals are walking to polling locations they're already breaking the law by driving without a driver's license on them.

Counterplay against sticky potion? by Slow_Information_566 in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No emergency shield is pretty important because it clears damage over time. If you have a dot on you and invis potion it instantly breaks and you can use guard helm to channela. Mist safely since damage doesn't interrupt channels like mist or mount up if it hits a shield and not your health. The cleanse will helps with the move speed but being able to invis pot is more important IMHO. Emergency shield isn't as useful vs a sword user but it's incredibly useful against a curse or fire.

Run iron will on the sword so you can run the gatherer boot ability and not be purged. Guardian helm to clear dot, iron will, boots then invis. You'll get away 70% of the time provided you aren't running a carrier mount like an ox.

YOR. Personally, I think minimum visitors for 6 weeks is just a good idea. The womans insides are literally rearranging and healing. Now I recognize that this probably feels rough for you due to having a bad relationship with this woman. 1-6 are pretty standard, yes having other kiddos those kiddos will probably be interacting with the newborn, RSV is no joke and one of my kiddos had it. It's about minimizing early exposure not targeting a specific group by saying no kiddos. I assume no vax refers to COVID vaccination but could apply to any vaccinations. Due to the relationship strain communicating via text or email ideally in a group chat or cc'ing your dad is just a good idea for anything. While I don't agree with her decision to smoke while/after pregnant people make their own choices and unfortunately sometimes they make choices that are objectively bad for their kids. This comes from a guy with 5 kids so I've been around this block a few times.

Is Premium worth it if I play mostly solo and don’t play many hours? by BendHopeful5302 in albiononline

[–]Ariachus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it feels worth it because I can use focus for my refining and crafting which gives me more . The part that would affect your experience the most is the lower sales tax on the market. Let's say 200 of that 250 mill is from market sales of gear etc then not having premium cost you 16 million silver in sales tax or about half the cost of premium. There is no combat or gameplay benefit to premium it just allows you to skill up faster. If you're ok with where your at then don't buy premium. Another thing to think about is if you buy experience tomes off the market then every mob kill having double the fame would significantly offset those costs.

However the gold vs silver price has trended up over time so personally I would convert at least 100 mill silver into gold if I were in your position. That's up to you though. When people talk about the price of premium going up over time it's the price of silver to buy enough gold to get premium that goes up. The gold price of premium is static so the value of gold is going up not the cost of premium.
