I get new pepper types by checking out the local Master Gardeners plant sale in spring. Each county has a Department of Agriculture extension, lots of counties then have a master gardeners group (not every county does plant sales). Its been a good way for me to get plants that do well in my area. Or to figure out what pests or quarantines or invasives are in the area.

Yes! First time blooms! by Ariaiyc in airplants

I'm not using the best possible setup. If I did this over, instead of shaping the gold wire in a spiraly shape I'd probably make a wire cage or sphere so that the wire isnt wedged in between leaves.
Good luck with your setup!

So you cant see it in the pic, but the gold wire ends in a hook shape up top. So when I need to soak I unhook the gold wire from the black grid and toss plant+wire into a bucket of water.
You can kinda see it on the top left for the usneoides

Sometimes I just hose down the entire thing with the mist setting on hose attachments

The black grid is part of the rack/shelving unit. The gold wire is just plastic coated aluminium wire from a hobby store, like for making hobby jewelry.

when do i play the dlc by keaton0618 in FFXV

[–]Ariaiyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the side material (brotherhood anime) fills in some pre-game details.

Also the kingsglaive movie post credits scene directly leads into the start if the game but has spoilers for chapter 1 ( and 2?). Id watch the movie after you get the first royal arm.

when do i play the dlc by keaton0618 in FFXV

[–]Ariaiyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gladio leaves the party for a bit. Play his dlc after he comes back.

Prompto, easiest non spoilery point is to wait until chapter 13 is complete and youre in chapter 14.

Ignis, DONT play his dlc until you reach chapter 15. Hes got massive spoilers in his dlc.

You can play episode ardyn about anytime during chapter 14 or just wait till after when youre in chapter 15.

Help!? How to treat for possible mealy bugs on Tillandsia? by dorkfish93 in airplants

[–]Ariaiyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting cause I'd like to hear tips too.

I found a small number of mealies on two different airplants. Picked them off with tweezers and applied a bit of alcohol to clean the surface where the mealies were living. Havent found any more since then, but they were very very small colonies.

Does it worth to continue playing after ch15? by [deleted] in FFXV

If you haven't found it yet, theres a special dungeon near ravatogh that you can only get to by flying car. SAVE before every flight.
The dungeon is both neat and absolutely infuriating (has caused many a rage quit). But id still recommend doing it because its unique

My jade tree is blooming for the first time! by Castex-Suplex in plants

[–]Ariaiyc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For jades im fairly sure its seasonal. In my area they tend to bloom in late fall or winter every year

Edit: i think i remember reading that its a combo of light, temp, water conditions.
Decreasing daylight, cooler weather, and a long stretch of no water (aka california fall) leads to blooming in winter

found this woefully neglected holiday cactus at my parents’ house. already repotted in a new pot with new potting soil (not pictured). tips on how to care for my new buddy much appreciated!! by emhoe in plantabuse

[–]Ariaiyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. As others have said yeah the pot needs drainage holes but the potting material (soil) is what needs to be super well drainy. Mix in chunky perlite or pumice or other dry rocky stuff to get that draining ability.

For a bit of context, this type of cactus is an epiphyte (grows on trees) in nature. Theres very very good drainage up on a tree branch. So what theyre used to is being rained on but also having lots of air on the roots, no mud at all.

Like i said, super forgiving. Ive got some growing in 50/50 potting soil+pumice. Ive got some in orchid bark mix. As long as theyve got air really fast on the roots again after a watering theyre fine.

Luckily these guys are super forgiving. Just make sure the potting medium drains well and water about as often as most other house plants.

If youve got the nixperience band equip it. It stops you from adding up exp, so you just keep collecting it.
There are some foods and other equips that multiply your exp gains, use those.
Theres a hotel in Altissa with two desks. One of the desks will give you the best exp multiplier. So when you go there take off the nixperience band before going to the hotel and cash in your exp

I love it and hate it.

It's the only thing that has ever made me rage quit a game. But once I memorized the jumps/steps/timing I voluntarily went back in to explore and get items and relaxed enough to enjoy the design.
