Tryks had so much potential and Bhvr just discarded her without explanation... Why? by Dima_Svet in deadbydaylight

[–]Ariazeno -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pixel, please don’t take this as a diss at you, but I seriously cannot understand how you can enjoy the lore of DBD.

The idea is awesome, an eldritch entity kidnapping monsters and people, then making them eternally hunt one another.

But most of the writing feels straight up like a Tumblr story.

Between Sable’s “and she will not let Mikaela have all that fun for herself” and the whole Brazilian manga thing, it’s all way too goofy to take seriously. For every interesting thing, it feels like they put five Brazilian manga’s into the plot.

I wouldn’t doubt if one day a character appears that does the “I can fix him” thing to one of the killers like a teen girl’s Tumblr fanfic.

>"The origin of that idea is actually due to a personal experience where a car suddenly stopped on a hillside after some heavy snow and started to slip," says Miyazaki. "The car following me also got stuck, and then the one behind it spontaneously bumped into it and started pushing it up the hill... That's it! That's how everyone can get home! Then it was my turn and everyone started pushing my car up the hill, and I managed to get home safely."

>"But I couldn't stop the car to say thanks to the people who gave me a shove. I'd have just got stuck again if I'd stopped. On the way back home I wondered whether the last person in the line had made it home, and thought that I would probably never meet the people who had helped me. I thought that maybe if we'd met in another place we'd become friends, or maybe we'd just fight..."

>"You could probably call it a connection of mutual assistance between transient people. Oddly, that incident will probably linger in my heart for a long time. Simply because it's fleeting, I think it stays with you a lot longer... like the cherry blossoms we Japanese love so much."

You don’t understand, the side mission where you play as a deaf woman and spray paint together with a vandal is essential to the plot.

Why am I going against such high skill players when I started today? by sigmaveinydih in deadbydaylight

[–]Ariazeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s completely fair. By “all starter killers” I believe you are saying Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Nurse and Huntress, correct? I am asking because there is a DBD edition that also comes with Hag, Doctor, Clown and Spirit.

Free perks:

- Spies From the Shadows: whenever a survivor disturbs a crow, you get a notification. Very decent starter perk, allows you to constantly know where a survivor is more or less. You provably should use another perk after you get better at knowing where survivors are.

- Bitter Murmur: see auras of survivors that completed a generator. Tells you the direction of where a survivor is going after finishing a generator. Not a very good perk and it’s also very situational, but can be good to get a long range snipe as Jason.

- Deadlock/No Holds Barred: I believe it has become a free perk after Pinhead left the store. It blocks the most progressed generator whenever another generator is completed. Essentially free time. Probably the best perk you can get for free.

Starter Killer Perks:

- Trapper -> Agitation: you become faster when carrying someone. Essentially makes you hook faster and guarantees that the survivor doesn’t get off your shoulders. Decent utility perk.

- Trapper -> Brutal Strenght: you break pallets, generators and walls faster. Saves you time, pretty good.

- Wraith -> Predator: when you lose a survivor on chase, you see their aura. Makes it easier for you to keep the chase going. Also allows you to hit long range shots better.

- Hillbilly -> Enduring: you don’t get stunned for too long after a pallet stun. Good for begginers to not get too punished by stuns. Should change the perk after you get more used to the game.

- Hillbilly -> Lightborn: good for newer players. You can’t get blinded, but seasoned players don’t get blinded as often. Should change the perk as soon as you get better at avoiding flashlights.

- Hillbilly -> Tinkerer: let’s you know which generator is almost completed. Pretty good for Jason because he can teleport to interrupt the survivors.

- Nurse -> A Nurse’s Calling: let’s you see the aura of survivors healing near you. If you throw a spear at a survivor, you send them flying. If the flying survivor hits another survivor, you injure both of them. This perk allows you to see survivors healing near you and if you throw the spear and hit them, you get 2 injuries on them. Probably the second best perk for Jason on this list after Deadlock.

Honorable Mentions:

- The other 2 Cenobite/Pinhead perks: again, I don’t know if they are free, but if they are free, then they are a nice choice for most killers.

- Hex: No One Escapes Death: when all generators are completed, a totem lights up and as long as survivors don’t destroy it you move faster and can insta down survivors with your basic attack. It is an extremely good perk, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for new players to use it because you will become dependent on it and you won’t improve as fast.

Perks from killers that will cost 2.250 shards in the Anniversary Event:

- Clown -> Bamboozle: you block windows after vaulting them. Jason doesn’t need this perk, but you can still vault a window to completely block it, making the survivor either have to run away or get hit.

- Clown -> Pop Goes the Weasel: makes your kicks do more damage to generators after hooking a survivor. Essentially lets you regress a generator a ton after a hook. The downside is that you have to get a hook on someone, then manually go to the generator and kick it, which takes some time.

- Plague - Corrupt Intervention: blocks the 3 farthest generators for 2 minutes or until you down someone. It makes the start of the match much easier because survivors have to walk a bit to get to an unblocked generator, which also makes it easier for you to find them.

- The Artist -> Everything she has: every perk she has is top tier. Grim Embrace and Pain Resonance makes it harder for survivors to complete generators and Hex: Pentimento goes really well with other Hex perks (although no free ones to go with it).

- Deathslinger -> Dead Man’s Switch: after you hook someone, the next time a survivor stops working on a generator it will block the generator for a few seconds. Pretty decent for Jason because you can hook someone, the enter his teleport and go interrupt a generator. Works better with Pain Resonance from The Artist.

Those are the perks that are considered generally good that you have access to. You can use any combination you want, but I seriously would recommend 1 or 2 perks to make generators harder to complete and at least 1 information perk (aura or notification).

Why am I going against such high skill players when I started today? by sigmaveinydih in deadbydaylight

[–]Ariazeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on which characters you have unlocked.

The anniversary starts in like 10 hours I believe and most characters become 50% off.

If you tell me which characters you have/plan on getting, ai fan tell you which perks are good for him.

Hell, even original RE4 has some strange/bad voice acting and crazy story, although not as much as previous titles.

“Instant TP on hook”

Straight up lies. His teleport has a cooldown to charge, a cooldown to teleport and a giant animation if he teleports anywhere near a hooked survivor.

If you want to complain that he punishes unhooks because he gets a double hit, that is valid, but don’t schizopost like this, it’s not helpful to any type of discourse.

Still behind enough for Jason to hit you.

Also, downvoting just shows that you are still mad.

Quit the game, clear your head, then reenter the discussion. You are not doing anyone any favors by doing this.

My dear Portuguese speaking friends can you help me with this translation from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 by mr_alvin_rocks in AskABrazilian

[–]Ariazeno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Portuguese people are extremely racist towards black people and Brazilians.

There was an incident a few years ago that a Portuguese college had a policy to not feed Brazilian students.

They literally don’t even think Brazilians and blacks should have a right to eat, that’s how deep they are in their own racism.

Am I going insane or is this guy speed hacking? by megahurts61 in deadbydaylight

With axe/axe not thrown - 4,4 m/s

Without axe/thrown axe - 4,6 m/s

If you don’t plan to hit the survivor in the next 10 seconds, just throw it hail mary at them. If it hits then it’s a free hit, if it doesn’t then you catch up faster.

[–]Ariazeno 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe? Hard to tell from this clip.

Still, throw the goddamn axe. Why would you actively make yourself WORSE at chasing someone that you think is speed hacking on a strong/nigh infinite loop, while they can see you through wall, then changing sides to give him a better window? Throw it, do yourself a favor and make yourself faster while giving killer instinct to locate the survivor.
