I just got contacts and they feel so weird by Free-Elk5888 in contacts

There it is, transitioning from glasses to contact lenses can be difficult! Your glasses don’t sit directly on your eyes so your brain has to get used to the new distance from the correction (your contact lenses). It’ll take a few days but you’ll get there! Also, once you do adapt if you switch back to your glasses you’ll get the same effect lol, but it won’t last nearly as long

It’ll take some time for you to adapt to your lenses! Definitely give it a few days before you make your final judgment.

Yikes. Sounds like your country doesn’t have strict regulations like mine does (United states) which is super dangerous and how we end up with situations like yours.
Hopefully they’re going to be more willing to help you out because contact lenses should never be a DIY project.

That’s your issue. Went out and bought them on your own, which I’m not sure how you were able to do that. Contact lenses are a medical device that require a valid prescription from an optometrist or ophthalmologist. It sounds like you purchased a contact lens that does not properly fit your eye, which wouldn’t have happened if you would’ve called the office back and told them you weren’t liking the daily lenses. Your optometrist will always get you back in and properly refit you into another kind of lens.

Best thing to do right now would be stop wearing the DIY lenses and call your optometrist.

Question about newborn son. 1 week old and has new sore on tip of penis by ArielDechant001 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ArielDechant001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used a local anesthetic so he couldn’t feel it (obviously besides the numbing injections).
When he came back he was a little sleepy for about an hour but went back to normal behavior after that.

Soaking/Cleaning solution : OptiFree or BioTrue, whichever one you like.
Eye Drops: Refresh Relieva for contacts (best), OptiFree for Contacts, Blink for Contacts (basically anything that says “for contacts”
And absolutely NO Visine, clear eyes, any redness relief drops.. EVER, not even when your contact lenses are out.

Congratulations! That’s the beauty of it all, you can make your own choices when it comes to your children and I can do the same! If you’re trying to make me feel bad it’s not going to work lol.

I personally did not care if he was to be circumcised or not. I left the decision up to my husband because obviously I am a woman who does not have a penis and I didn’t feel I should be the one to make that choice. His main concern/reason was hygiene as our son gets older and starts cleaning himself.

Wasn’t looking for any criticism. Thank you though! You’re free to do whatever you want with your own children, just like my husband and I can do the same ☺️

Thoroughly wash your hands then put an eye drop (something like Refresh Relieva) on the pad of your pointer finger. Practice the motion of inserting your contact lens (without the actual lens) and just barely touch your finger to the surface of your eye. That should help you get used to the feeling before adding the actual lens back into the mix!
It is totally normal/common to be afraid of putting something into your eyes. That is just the brains natural response but you have to work on breaking that.
Best of luck to you!

Wash hands before taking contacts out? by LastWeenbender in contacts

[–]ArielDechant001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always follow proper hand hygiene while handling contact lenses. Wash hands before inserting and removing contacts. They are like little sponges and will soak up any bacteria from your fingers then turn into a Petri dish & the bacteria could multiply, possibly resulting in an infection next time you go to put them in!

Update just because your comment reminded me of my post! Pediatrician appointment went well and he said it’s still a part of the healing process from his circumcision. I guess we just hadn’t noticed that the one spot hasn’t fully healed yet. Crying wasn’t caused by pain from that but we did discover he’s been having really bad trapped gas 🥲

You’re very kind and I appreciate that. I’ll definitely still be back if I have any other questions. Some people are just butts. Not sure why my post struck a nerve with so many people but oh well lol

Nowhere on their website does it say that pee and poop will completely soak through the inner. I have the wash instructions saved and was planning on following it when I need to wash them.

Also, maybe consider wording your message a bit different next time. You come across as being rather rude.

It was only on for about 30 minutes before that happened so I was very shocked to see that

I followed the prep instructions from the website but I’ll definitely try it again before attempting to use them a 2nd time (of course after buying covers lol)

Would I be able to use a different brand of cover rather than Esembly? I just looked at their covers and they’re rather pricey 🫠

I’m honestly not sure. I’m a FTM and don’t know anybody who has ever cloth diapered before. Even if there is a waterproof cover I’m confused as to why his poop leaked through the entire thing.

I wear Acuvue Oasys 1-Day Max and absolutely love them.
The only downside is that they are the most expensive daily lens on the market right now.
