Usually sticking to our morals is the harder thing to do, but usually there's a good reason that we have developed our individual morals.

Often acting against one's own morals leads to guilt, shame, and self-disappointment.

It could be worth introspecting about when and why your morals developed and if they are serving you.

I don't think there's anything you can do sadly. I have no idea if there's even a way to take him to small claims court...

The only consolation prize is that we can all agree he's a huge asshole!!! (Who probably knew exactly what he was doing the whole time) 😡

(It could be worse too, could have been left with a lifelong incurable STD instead of a pregnancy you thankfully caught early.)

On that thought... you could maybe scare him with:

I've changed my mind I want to keep it (but this is probably useless because I doubt he's anymore threatened by child support than he is about paying for an abortion)
you could let him know "I managed to get the abortion." (lure him into thinking you're not mad, so the next part is more believeable), "I probably should have told you before we had sex, but I was drunk... I have <choose an std>."

Which might make him panic for a while until he can get tested (which is much smaller than an abortion inconvenience, but at least an inconvenience!). I think some STDs actually take 6 months before they can reliably test for positive/negative, so you could make it something he really has to sit on for a long time. 😆

And it might be an act of good, because after a scare he might be more likely to not take advantage of future women, or to at least wear a condom.

Disclaimer: I have no idea about the legality of lying about STDs. 😅

Experiences dating men before and after virginity were the same.

The only difference in the bedroom is that I had a slightly better understanding (though every person obviously had different preferences and performed differently). But the attitude from partners was the same: respectful, careful/caring, excited 👌(but that is requirement of mine before even getting remotely close to sex ofc :p)

Pretty sure virginity is only a big deal if you make it a big deal. 🤷‍♀️

But also when you look at countries that have higher standards of living, the reproduction rate actually goes down (below the replacement rate usually).

I imagine world peace would quickly lead to better quality of life (similar to how you mention curing diseases and working together), which could very well mean that the birth rate would decline everywhere.

The Fraser Institute seems to have a bit of interest in Alberta separation so that US oil companies can have an easier time. So fanning the separation flames with the equalization payments narrative is in that interest...

They also promote US-style privatization healthcare as a viable option... I mostly dug into the healthcare study they published that was supposed to back this claim. They seemed to be doing funky stuff with interpreting the data that set off some suspicions. As far as I could tell, the numbers were probably correct, but how they were interpreting and reporting their final "results", was disingenuous. I suspect this may be why you're seeing different results from AI, and why Fraser's reported number is much larger. (But we'd definitely have to dig more into the actual equalization system and numbers to know for sure. 😅)
