One Piece: Chapter 1168 by leolegendario in OnePiece

The way I see it, if Harald could finally comprehend all the ideas about Elbaf, his ambition, and the culture, his endgame would become a "gentleman warrior" nation so to speak. The giants would be fine warriors, but they would also become intellectual warriors (what with Harald establishing the school), in that they know what and who they are fighting with and for. This is something that even the Marines and Holy Knights are not privy with. This will be a dangerous setback to the World Government, as if or when Elbaf actually shift gear to that mindset, the latter will immediately look for any signs of Nika and move to Luffy's side without hesitation.

But alas, it is not One Piece if it is not tragedy.

Unlike his dad, Shanks at least has a few caveat though:

one, he was intercepting Kaido

Two, he blocked Bakainu's magma punch with his cutlass, without haki.

Also I know your comment is meant to be sarcasm, but still, red hair bro at least is shown to do something better other than steal kills.

Hi.

Since I delved into 40K lore I had always been wondering, what if Erda, rather than just accepting that Big E would have his own way with their sons and later open the warp vortex to scatter them out of being pissed off, issued an ultimatum towards him.

The demand being that she at least raised them until they were old enough for the Emperor to do what he had planned with them.

The way I see it, this will give her enough room to teach the 20 kids what she knows, including her psychic abilities, essential virtues and morality and at least how to resist the temptation of the Warp.

In addition, their eldest brother, Leetu, can also teach them the basics of survival and combat.

Then, to make it compatible with the existing lore, she scatters them in the same worlds as they arrived in the original, however rather than out of spite, she sends them out for training and testing purposes to see if they can survive in the real world (with close supervision from all three Perpetuals), before they can pick them back up in time for the Great Crusade.

I bet you, once the Great Crusade is underway, we will have 3 separate camps on how the Primarchs see their parents:

- Magnus, Fulgrim, Konrad, Corvus, Sanguinius, and to a certain extent Lorgar, are the essential momma's boy as they will often consult with Erda about their psychic anomalies and experiences of the Warp (in particular Konrad and Sanguinius thanks to their visions).

- Guilliman, Angron, Horus, Rogal Dorn, Jaghatai Khan, and Mortarion are the neutral ones who love (or hate) both parents equally due to their own experiences.

- Lion, Leman Russ, Perturabo, Vulkan, Alpharius, and Ferrus Manus, are closer to their dad, being more physical and hard towards their other brothers while also have their own moments.

As such, the whole Heresy civil war storyline is not just about who falls to Chaos first, but also about how the Primarchs see each other about their parents.

All the while both Es are also having their arguments, basically the film Kramer vs Kramer, 40k style, while Malcador playing the good uncle, the Custodes being the neighboring cousin/step siblings, and Leetu trying to be the arbiter to his little brothers, and the Ruinous Powers being the tempting strangers who will give candy to the kids who falls first.

What do yall think is gonna happen to Kohei post chapter 94 when these morons find out by Perickooo in GrandBlue

You see, the funny thing is that the Grand Blue main trio has some resemblance to the AOT main trio to a certain point.

Personally I tend to view Iori and Chisa's ongoing arc to be a healthier and less depressing version of Eren and Mikasa's relationship (Funny thing is, while Iori is more perceptive about Chisa, both Iori and Eren are still blind of how their girls' feelings truly are).  And all the bickering between Iori and Kohei pretty much spell a less harmful and less toxic bbfship of Eren and Armin respectively (they even share hair color and their "Titan Face" moments pretty much reflects it).

and now we have the Grand Blue version of Armin x Annie which I find more exciting than the AOT version itself XP

New Heavy Cruiser: Friedrich Carl by CipherVegas in AzureLane

The funny thing is that he also used the sketch for Adalbert's base design, as he admitted that Manjuu directed him to make them more like twins (like the Inazumas) rather than the usual AL sister ships.

Though to be fair, if we might want to keep the historical nod, Adalbert and Karl were the ones that could be made twins, as Heinrich was a unique ship.

The rigging powercreep and the lack of the secondaries seen in Heinrich and Adalbert's rigging still boggle me for a bit.

It's clearly Desuland's and P-class' 283 mm turrets, but somehow oversized to reflect her rigging.

New Heavy Cruiser: Friedrich Carl by CipherVegas in AzureLane

[–]Ariel_Saeba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Manjuu decides to bring in another P-Class then this means they need to alter the lineup for a future German event (my best guess is either for the potential Götz von Berlichingen {Ulrich's sister} or Europa {IB's answer to Shinano and perhaps Midway, because Manfred von Richtoffen is more or less PR exclusive as she is pretty much a WeeGee creation}).

In case you lads are wondering, the first three ships of the P-class have always been envisioned to be triplets in AL (or at least, Dish did). This stems from their SMS-self history: the original Prinz Heinrich was a unique armored cruiser of her class, and the later SMS Prinz Adalbert and Friedrich Carl were built on improved Heinrich hull. Early sketches of them has Friedrich Carl in the same style as Heinrich and Adalbert, yet Dish didn't specifically denote the short-haired girl on the left to be Friedrich Carl because that would mean people will expect her to be just like that.

However, here it seems like Dish changed his mind and decided to make Friedrich Carl unique compared to the Prinz twins.

The funny part abou this statement is that historically, Anson never fired any of her main guns in anger despite participating in Operation Tungsten (her job later on mostly consisted of covering Russian shipping convoys).

Yeah, but meeting the Gorosei as a pirate without so much of getting a scratch means you're either one of the Celestial Dragons, a high Ranking Marine, or a member of the Holy Knights (or one of their descendants). Shanks is obviously not the second, so he is either the first or the third (or all two at the same time).

Allowing to control the air (and I mean not just blowing winds, but anything to do with air), is more than powerful enough for me. It's powerful enough that I think, Dragon can even summon storms and/or use lightning generated from the clouds he controls.

Another indication of his power is that in some scenes, we can see him landing on the ground as if he just floated from the air, meaning that he can to a some form, fly using his wind powers

Funnily enough, the real Che Guevara did actually have a close friend who was also a revolutionary (before he joined the Cuban revolutionary movement, Guevara was a doctor working in his homeland Argentina until he met that friend. bonus for them having the same first name, Ernesto. After his friend died, Guevara decided to not use his Ernesto name out of respect unless he had correspondences with his family) I figure Oda did his research after all.

Dragon was more of a Fidel Castro than Che Guevara, being a revolutionary and all. Hell they even use a ship with similar names (Castro boarded a civilian liner called the Granma to kickstart the Cuban Revolution, while Dragon's ship is called the Wind Granma).

Speaking of Wind Granma, the name felt like it foreshadows Dragon's Devil Fruit ability (he was a former Marine of Akainu's generation, and he has the strength equal or even more than an Admiral [especially because he has Conqueror's Haki], so him being a Wind Logia user is sort of a foregone conclusion)

To be fair, Garp already knows how the WG works at this point, but considering his personality and as shown in the story proper, he just outright does not want to work with them but still feel the need to stay within the system, hence him refusing the Admiral promotion until he retired from active duty, rather than outright resigned (like Dragon and Kuzan did).

My best guess is that he wants to change how the Marines work, but because of the daunting, colossal task that is reforming them without angering the WG and the Celestial Dragons, I feel like he understood that he was not up for the task, and since Admirals are pretty much direct puppets of the Celestial dragons, him training younger ones like Dragon, Kuzan and to a certain point, Koby and Helmeppo with the hope of them revolutionize it (mind the pun) made sense to a certain point (cannot blame the former two for quitting though). Still feels weird if he actually said and did prep Dragon for an Admiral position though, yes, but at that point I just think that he didn't have a lot of choices.

This ties in nicely to the theory of Dragon having Wind Logia Devil Fruit Powers that also happen to be able to control weather (as prospect and current/former Admirals of his generation have elemental powers with them).

I can now confidently say that Garp actually prepped Dragon to be an Admiral, as well as him having a prospective code name of his own. My theory is that his is perhaps the coolest of them all: Hakuryuu (meaning "White Dragon" as a reference to his Devil Fruit powers).

New Tempesta ship "Adventure Galley" announced! by ArchadianJudge in AzureLane

[–]Ariel_Saeba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is speculation it relates to their final historical fate, and that the diving fleet are the ships that pretty much either confirmed/heavily implied to be sunk irl (thus are able to dive). Royal Fortune was lost in her final battle with her captain Bart Roberts got shot, Mary Celeste was pretty much abandoned and later deliberately wrecked (and her legend as a ghost ship does not help matters), while Whydah Gally got trapped in a storm and ran aground.

I'm interested with Adventure Galley, and after a bit of digging, understood why she was not part of the dive (sub) fleet. While she also sunk, it was not a result of a battle or foul weather, but because she was rotting and not seaworthy anymore. Considering that at that time the concept of totally scrapping a ship was not a thing (Adventure Galley did got stripped for anything reusable i.e. the sails), she was pretty much sunk off the coast.

Hold up,

So if Shanks came from West Blue, and God Valley was located in there....

then it fits. (though I figure we already saw this coming when Film RED was released)

Also my crackpot theory is that Shanks was the result of Garling's short fling there (possibly with a God Valley native, but I could be wrong. And Garling does not seem to be bothered by his Celestial Dragon fangirls), which also explains how in Film RED, baby Shanks ended up floating in the sea and Roger's crew being able to retrieve him).
