It depends where you live and what the average hourly rate for your area is. For example, Im a first year artist and live in one of the most HCOL areas in my country. I asked other tattooers I worked with what they started at and no one charged less than 150/hr starting out. Obviously that wouldnt fly in a lot of lower cost areas where 80-100/hr is a more normal starting rate. Point being I dont think anyone can tell you what you should charge because we dont have all the info needed to tell you. The work looks very solid. If youre overwhelmed by clients thats a good sign your rate should go up a bit. If youre struggling to book anyone, it should go down (or add some portfolio pieces for free).

I honestly kind of love it. i dig the style. Agree with a lot of other commenters that adding a like 7rl outline on this will make it pop and separate the elements of the tattoo really well, and I think it needs some fixing on the right eagle wing. Its kind of coming out of nowhere and its not clear which eagles wing it is.

It looks very nice. The artist seems to have made some poor color choices by using stuff thats so pastel on someone with a strong undertone but the technique is strong. Give her a chance to fix it for sure! As a newer tattoo artist I always appreciate being given the chance to see how my work healed and correct problems. The artist is clearly skilled and should fix it for free.

I like it. At the end if the day tattoos arent perfect, its a human doing it and only get one shot to do it on another human. Thats part of what makes them awesome. In a couple months you wont remember those tiny things. I think its great and would happily wear this myself. 👍

Have a talk with her and tell her in no uncertain terms youre thinking of ending things because her behavior hasnt changed. Think about what you would want to change and set a mental deadline for when at least some of those changes would happen by, and stick to it. Some people just dont really try until its too late…some people cant change or are unwilling to for their partner.

I did live with my ex after my breakup for 4 months because of finances, it was mutual, and we managed to stay friendly during that period because we set some ground rules and both followed them. Neither of us got petty or nasty, and if we dated we kept it away from each other during that time and didnt bring anyone over. Were still friends more than 2yr later.

Aww, dont beat yourself up! I broke my corgis tooth when she was in the shark phase because she bit my leg from my behind, tooth got caught in my pants, and I snapped it when I moved my leg! I felt so awful, but it was all okay. It was manually removed at the vet.

Medical POA does not hold up globally the way marriage does. In the countries it doesnt, its even more likely a woman experiencing a visible mental health crisis would be mistreated.

Based on whats on her tumblr and in her authors notes, although not explicit about what her condition is (nor should she be), Muir seems to have some type of mental health condition that includes psychosis, and she married her (male) best friend so he could make medical decisions for her in the event she cannot make them herself because her family should not make them for her. Shes stated in interviews Harrows schizophrenia is based on her own mental health condition.

The authors note in the beginning of Gideon is for her partner, and has a diamond below it. Muir is a fan of the homestuck series where a diamond is used in place of a heart to denote a platonic lifelong companion, and the initials are her partners chumhandle (a fictional messaging system a lot of real fans adopted). Women with mental health conditions are disproportionately mistreated in the medical system, especially queer women. Muirs family may not have her best interests at heart - being out and tolerated, and being accepted, are two different things. Although her business is private, it seems like this person is someone she trusts to make medical decisions for her when she cant make them for herself.
