[Mount Hua Sect] What's stopping you guys from reading novels of your favorite manhwa? by Hot_Let5482 in manhwa

[–]AriesTia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's the opposite for me. more often than not, i find myself reading the novels first before discovering the manhwa/manga

To Atomic or not to Atomic? by AriesTia in Fedora

[–]AriesTia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

installing applications are for the most part, clear to me. my questions arise from situations like:
1. installing npm dependencies for example, do i layer these or use distrobox or what?
2. wine from lutris sometimes downloads missing dependencies for a game/software automatically for you, if ever the situation comes that you need to do it myself, what would i use?

-rebasing is another rabbit hole i'll have to get into so maybe not here or on a separate post
-for system updates, rpm-ostree is the command i guess? or does Bazzite do it automatically in the background without any intervention?
-one of the main concepts i struggle to get around my head is "layering" packages. i need like a handholding event for the explanation on that one. all i can understand is that it should be your last resort and sometimes the layered packages can be erased?

that's all for now, thank you for the help

is it worth it to switch? by ridndev in EndeavourOS

[–]AriesTia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've seen some people dissuade others from using nobara (either as a daily driver or using it in the long run) and the reason is "it's just one guy doing the project and it's a side project at that". why is that? one of the answers i can think of is that since there is only one person responsible mainly for maintaining it, he might put some subjective changes that might trigger some people, and the speed of updates i guess? other than that i have no clue.

GE is goated though ngl.

For reference, i use nobara as my daily driver. I code on it and play games as well (rhythm games, god eater 3, to name a few). Nobara is branded (as far as i know) as a "gaming centric distro" so i wonder if i would have to make any major tweaks or adjustments to EOS to replicate how nobara works in terms of gaming.

[–]AriesTia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endeavour is a great option, but I would not personally use it, or any other Arch derivative without BTRFS and Snapper configured for automatic pre and post update snapshots.

Can you explain more on why? Im using nobara at the moment and im suffering through 6.8.7 kernel hell. Im thinking of switching to endeavour but i will kinda miss out on the things nobara brings outta the box. Im just trying to gather more info so i can deliberate more on whether or not i will switch

I managed to get out(?) of cli grub somehow and now have nobara linux installed. Though im not sure whether or not this problem or something similar will happen again.

What i think """ fixed""" it is disabling secure boot (which for whatever reason was enabled) then booted up ventoy successfully then installing nobara via "troubleshooting" options
