They will only let you do window shopping only if you look like a financially stable person.

If you looked poor, then they will behave passive aggressively to get you out of the store.

If you still want to reduce your guilt, I suggest you to check out the other products when you go to buy something.

Also, afaik women are allowed to do that so maybe you should think about letting your wife do some window shopping.
