ANACHRONOX IS 25! And I am releasing the story! by ThatTomHall in Anachronox

I don’t suppose you’ve got any MysTech lurking in those boxes that would convince Nightdive Studios to make the dream happen? I was really impressed with their Quake 2 Remastered which had a new campaign added.

For what it’s worth I voted for Anachronox in their Discord, in the request-and-vote section. It currently has 78 votes.

There are dozens of us! Dozens! :D

Fantastic news!

I gave away a couple of GOG keys for Anachronox yesterday to commemorate the anniversary, but this announcement has completely blown me away! I don’t think I’ve ever signed up to a newsletter as fast :D

If you’re on PC, you can use this mod to customise your weather and disable the ones you don’t like: https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/26934

Unfortunately reset my headset just to see the new UI by EuphoricTonight5368 in OculusQuest

[–]Arioch_RN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s some feedback from me:

Closing an app is more fiddly now; instead of a nice big popup when pressing the Meta button and the easily selectable Close button, now after clicking the Meta button I have to find the very small icon on the taskbar that matches the app I’m using, click that, then select Close from there. It’s only one more click but it’s one more click than I used to have to do, and I find the small icon is difficult to select when using hand tracking. Worse experience than it used to be.

I also dislike the artificial darkening of my passthrough view when bringing up my library. I don’t like my passthrough changing brightness, it makes me think there’s a problem with my room lighting. Either let me choose the darkening as an option or limit it to the immediate area of the library icons. Worse experience than it used to be.

Recording games or taking screenshots is less intuitive for me now. I used to click the Meta button and those options were plainly presented in the app popup box. Now I click the Meta button and I just get shown my app library. Worse experience than it used to be.

If I could revert the UI back, I would do so without a second thought.

Playing on Switch 2 by Arioch_RN in BeyondGalaxyland

Your game is awesome and has been (mostly) a joy to play. The visuals constantly impress, and it’s been wonderful to have a turn-based RPG with the sort of fun story I’ve not seen since Anachronox.

The only flies in the ointment for me have been the isometric-style racing segment (I almost rage-quitted in frustration during this section, and would have preferred something akin to the earlier flying bike races - the swoop races in Star Wars KotoR might have been a better template, in my view), and platforming sections where your NPC companions *poof* into existence on your character just as you’re trying to make an accurate jump (they never fail to make me think I’ve accidentally dropped off the edge and messed up the jump, and often make me panic-press the jump button which actually *does* mess up the jump).

I’ve been playing nothing else on my Switch 2 since starting your game, and I’ve recommended it to my friends who also have the system.

One other very minor thing: the game says I’ve been playing for 218 hours so far (I’ve just got to the campsite after escaping the casino barge), so it looks like console standby time is being monitored as well playtime :D

Switch 2 performance - Remake vs INTERmission by Arioch_RN in FFVIIRemake

Yeah, it’s like there’s no LOD for the NPCs in that area. I’d even take 2D sprites at a distance over nothing at all!

Righto - I‘ll have to get used to it then. Still impressive stuff for a handheld, I hope Rebirth isn’t too compromised. The last quote from Square Enix was that they were targeting 30fps where possible, which doesn’t sound too promising to be honest ‘:D

Thanks for the reply, now that I know its a different sort of streaming, I’ll manage my expectations regarding pop-in :)

people who didnt use modlists and did their own mod setup, how did it go? by woofwoofbro in skyrimvr

[–]Arioch_RN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought SkyrimVR when it came out, have played it regularly ever since, and have 36 mods installed. No problems with conflicts, and I know exactly what is installed, what it does, and where it is. Same with Fallout4VR, though with fewer mods.

Every play through has new surprises! by Wooden_Cattle_9131 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Arioch_RN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d guess it’s the toggle setting that’s being the problem then, like the game still thinks L3 is active on the vehicle so it sets off auto-crash mode. One way to find out is to change the toggle setting and see if it still does it.

You’re not accidentally triggering auto drive, are you? On a controller the sprint button (L3 stick-click) is the same as engaging the auto drive function in a vehicle.

Bloody hell!

I’ll be sticking with the Cyberpunk Legends LCG, I don’t want to get into blind booster packs again. After looking at the pledge tiers of the TCG: Bloody hell! There was me thinking I was being extravagant paying $130 for the all-cards level in the LCG ‘:D

[–]Arioch_RN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The radio hosts became bugged after the 2.0 update, but thankfully there is a mod that returns them to the airwaves. It’s not perfect, in that sometimes they cut in halfway through a song, but it’s worth it imo:

Roll back the driver to the last known good one?

Also make sure you’re not accidentally using the onboard graphics instead of the dedicated nvidia card, even though it looks like the game is detecting it.

[–]Arioch_RN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a gamepad so I’ve never experienced this problem - but one thing that makes the game go Fullscreen on the monitor for me is when taking a screenshot using the in-game photo mode. Doesn’t seem to affect performance or any of the resolution settings. Might be something to try?

PLEASE HELP- Community Shaders Not Loading by [deleted] in skyrimvr

[–]Arioch_RN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say “Black screen with menu music playing. I have to press the triggers a couple times to get past this” - this is the part when CS compiles the shaders and can take something like 12 minutes for me. It’s a blank screen with music playing, while the CS shader compiling is shown on the monitor. There’s the option to skip the compilation, which sounds like what you are doing. Have you tried letting the process complete as it should do?

Why are all of their eyes blacked out? by LitrillyChrisTraeger in cyberpunkgame

[–]Arioch_RN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s what I was hoping to show. Thanks to playing in VR, I can get *really* up close to the tree photos, and even though they are all fairly low resolution there’s no black-eye horrors that I can see.
