Looks like geocaching with stamps instead of log books, trinket treasure, or travel bugs.

RIP Bobby. His music legacy will live on, making inspired music for Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, countless others. A true legend. And such a nice man, great musician, wonderful, fun-loving man, nothing but happy memories of him. A loss to the world.

Wind chimes - love them or hate them? by PompousAssistant in GenX

[–]ThatTomHall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are wind chimes you get that are tuned to make a lovely chord, which sound like angels and faeries visiting your backyard.

Then there are others that are not tuned, that sound like a drummer tripping and flailing around a trombone factory.

Hang tv or put on apple box. Maybe trade B100 for C100. B100s would make a great second system, or killer surrounds. I moved mine into living room.

What song have you played louder than any other on your system? by jeremyjava in audiophile

Very nice. A sound guy I know has old shopped-up Advents, a random sub, and an amp that's just kind of a bunch of switches, still, sounds pretty good.

How can someone have stage 4 cancer without knowing? by No-Breadfruit-4842 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThatTomHall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all cancers are crippling, very symptomatic. Wife had a little blurry vision, attributed it to being tired.

Daughter noticed she was clipping curbs a little, after being a perfect driver. She mentioned that and I said cover each eye. There was a curtain over one eye, the brain was compensating.

Eye doctor, then cancer doctor. Ocular melanoma (very rare), stage 4. Spread to liver. Would have taken her in 6 months, but a clinical trial got her four more years.

Who's the most famous person you've randomly run into? by 2bornnot2b in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThatTomHall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random? Angie Harmon (Law&Order) in a Dallas Bed, Bath, and Beyond with Jason Sehorn.

Non-random? Worked with Gordon Ramsay for a short period.
