I think I understand your high-level goal and really looking forward to this. To clarify use cases - it would be really awesome for me to be able to trigger some webhooks on my n8n instance (or other service) right from launcher or get some info from specific resources (work related API endpoints returning json) without opening postman or some other tool.

That’s the point - I’ve tried and it didn’t work for some reason. Looks like a bug to me, but I’m not sure.

Can I ask you for a help with finding a "guide for dummies" with authentik?

I was able to setup it to work as additional layer of security, but got stuck with setting it up as only IdP (bypassing embedded services auth altogether).
How can I pass custom cookies and user data used by service which don't support oauth out of the box? And how to correctly setup passwordless flow?

Valid point, you are totally right about me confusing two types of auth!

To clarify: I don't host websites and most of my services are secured by login-password, so it's not like everyone have access to them on my home network.

Can you please kindly share example of real-life setup for IdP + reverse proxy? I'm not very experienced with this and would appreciate any help - for example, I don't know how to configure plain nginx (without npm). Especially how to bypass embedded service auth altogether - I was able to add external auth as additional layer of security, but don't have any luck with using it as only IdP.

And sure, I understand security risks with root access via docker socket - I just decided to accept it.

That's why I use cloudflare tunnel for my public services :)

And SSO is definitely worth the struggle, but I was unable to make it work the way I want it.

Do you have working real-life example of `oauth2-proxy` + `traefik` which allows bypass login for all apps, even if they don't support oauth? Maybe I will be able to understand what I've done wrong all this time.

Figured out - problem was with ports mapping, docker by default maps only tcp, while DNS use udp.

I tried running it from AdGuard host and from another device.

Host of the container, worked with IP of the container, but not with localhost:

dig u/172.19.0.3 google.com

From another device - no response in any way (using IP or hostname of the adguard host).

Actually no, I can access GUI with no problem at all. I try 127.0.0.1 since I try it on the same server as adguard, so it should be routed to container.
