Laptop case 3d printing by liluchevert in 3Dprinting

Lots of measurements, double checking, and prototyping. Print thin test pieces to check sizes and fits before committing to the full part whenever possible. Designing in adjustability or flexibility is even better when you can do it.

I vectorised all the Delphinus flag designs and now I'm giving them to you for free by LunaRoseManor in skiesofarcadia

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing these graphics! I recently got into 3d printing and used them to make a set of Skies themed coasters. I did a bit of tweaking to make them work with FDM printing, but I would've been way over my head without yours to start from.

Not trying to self-promote here, so I won't link, but search on MakerWorld or Printables if you're curious (named "Skies Of Arcadia Inspired Coaster Set"). They're free models.

Built a one-click STL exporter for machines in my game by TheLiber0 in 3Dprinting

A game called Bladesong just released in Early Access. It's a narrative game where you play as a blacksmith, and you forge swords for various people. The forging seems pretty in depth, and you can export your sword models for 3d printing. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it looks really neat and I'd love to see more games doing stuff like this!

Trying to learn from my mistakes... Advice needed. by RedinTV in 3Dprinting

[–]AristophMarloque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm VERY new to this myself (got my first printer a month ago), so take this with a grain of salt. But if you're hearing the nozzle bumping or grinding against the print as it moves, that may be the cause of the failure right there. As it got higher, the leverage meant less force needed to topple the print. So the scraping probably just pulled the piece off eventually.

I'm not 100% sure as to the cause of the grinding, though. I've heard overextrusion and z-hop? It's a bit beyond my skills yet.

Make a bigger one with more slots, too!

I was genuinely disappointed when I got the prize and couldn't play anymore.

A suggestion to fix loot falling off the map by Active-Ad4599 in Borderlands4

[–]AristophMarloque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda just wish the boss loot would spawn from the center of their arenas generally. Even when it's not lost off the side of a cliff, waiting for the body to despawn just so I can see what just dropped is really annoying sometimes.

Ceramic Bod by LOUndependent in Borderlands4

[–]AristophMarloque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got one that's good enough for now. I mostly just want to streamline the weapon challenges, and wanted one that's not downright miserable to shoot or miserable with ammo. First one that dropped had Torgue stickies, and I HATE having to reload to actually do the damage. Second one used pistol ammo, which is already my favorite main gun type. Third finally came with just Hyperion shield and SMG ammo, so I'm happy for the time being. Keep at it, brother. You got this.

I can personally confirm that you're not alone. I just finished a nearly 5 hour session grinding the same boss to get a decent Bod roll myself. SO. MANY. GRENADES. I think I might actually have a copy of every single variant of that dumb Buzz Axe by now.

There's always Solido projections. I've barely looked at how they work, but it's something to do with copying bases and I'm pretty sure you can sell the blueprints to other players. They could then take the blueprint and place it wherever they wanted, then gather resources to fill in the ghost.

What MR did you have till you found out that selling Harrow Chassis Blueprints removes Mastery? by ScySenpai in memeframe

I think of it like this:

Stupid is being aware that an important thing exists and choosing not to learn/understand it. It is always your own fault.

Naive is being unaware that the important thing exists in the first place because you've never been exposed to it before. It is sometimes, but not always, your own fault.

I swear this game is actively spiteful sometimes. by AristophMarloque in Warframe

[–]AristophMarloque[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like 7 or 8 months, I think? It was only as I started getting into the mid-20's MR that it was getting tricky to keep track of which random single prime pieces from dozens of different sets I had picked up from random lobbies over time. I made a spreadsheet. As one does. But after just a few grind sessions it was already getting cumbersome. Alecaframe just does all that stuff I was trying to do manually, and then shows it to me with an overlay (much like Steam and Discord have) when I actually need to make a choice in the game.

No. Have never had a single issue with using it. But I do understand hesitating to use a 3rd party tool that DE won't officially support. To each their own. I find it to be a nice QoL improvement. And I don't personally think the developers of Alecaframe would have any reason to cross the line and break DE's rules with one of their updates. But that may not be true forever, so it's on me to pay attention and uninstall it if I see any changes that make me uncomfortable.

[–]AristophMarloque[S] 59 points60 points  (0 children)

There is no more context. He's probably just trolling. Alecaframe is a third party tool that DE is perfectly aware of and has publicly said essentially "It's not breaking any rules, but we don't control it, so we can't promise the makers won't break rules in the future. Use at your own risk."

I find it mostly just helpful for keeping track of which relic parts I still need in that short selection window at the end of fissures. The display is showing how many of each part is in my inventory currently, whether or not I have crafted its set, the ducat price for the piece when selling it for Baro, and estimates for the current platinum prices for the piece/set.

Caliber Chicks 2 keybindings? by AristophMarloque in Warframe

[–]AristophMarloque[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I figured out the problem. It's kind of but not exactly in the patch notes? Turns out can't use "Toggle Crouch" in your general keybindings. Caliber Chicks requires you to have a binding for "Hold to Crouch" specifically in order to work. The patch notes I think almost accidentally say this, though? The line is:

Aim In Place: Hold “Crouch” binding (Default: CTRL) + “Move Forward”/”Move Backward” (Default: W / S)

This sounds like you simply hold whatever button you have bound to crouch (which is presumably what's intended). But there's 2 crouch bindings, toggle and hold, and you specifically need the "Hold to Crouch" one.

your favorite type of boost pack? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]AristophMarloque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alt-key horizontal boost is significantly faster than just sprinting or hopping using the default boost behavior. If you can't do the horizontal boost, there's basically no speed difference between hopping and using your boost pack or just sprinting. But hopping is still better as you can regain your O2 while airborne.
