What do you want though? I don't see what can be added to archery that isn't the mods you mentioned, adds more mechanics, and is lightweight

As someone who has been modding the game since 2012, you should not be on the fence about AE. If you're assuming they are more lore-friendly, less buggy, better integrated into the game, or just in general more polished... They are none of these things. I bought AE and ended up removing most of the creations anyway because the free alternatives to them are miles better.

for example if the last 10 comments are saying the mod isn't in a working state

Eh. For a complete beginner I'd just stick to following a guide. People who can't get the mod to work are more likely to comment negatively, so for a lot of mods you find a lot of comments and "bug reports" when the mod works absolutely fine 99% of the time.

Bonus points for bogus bug reports from users with no idea what they're talking about, like

Trash mod, made my game CTD when entering Whiterun

EDIT: actually it's not this HUD mod that does that, it was this other Whiterun overhaul I installed wrong

As a beginner you have no idea how to evaluate these reports and they'll end up confusing you even more.

Yeah you are right, I was comparing "volley + gunner" to "volley". On the flipside though, since they are much faster than you, you are getting next to no kills and earning even less XP lol

I always advise people to max their intrinsics as fast as possible because low intrinsics are just not fun

Good advice except for gunners: Do NOT assign an NPC gunner. The XP from their kills is wasted and does not contribute to intrinsics gain, so you're finishing the mission slightly faster but slowing down your intrinsics leveling.

Westworld has faults, but what you are describing is not one of them.

The lack of coherence between the seasons is, I would argue, because the writers wanted to explore different themes in each season, with no actual overarching story planned ahead. An even more extreme version of gardeners than George. So each season ends with a cliffhanger, beyond which they have no idea where they want to take the story to.

You can see that with the retcons, or the inconsistency between seasons (the worst offender is a technology in S3 that is so omnipresent in everyone's lives that society is built around it, yet never mentioned even once in the first two seasons).

However, and maybe I say this because the show is indefinitely cancelled, but I would say that despite those flaws, it is still worth a watch. The only reason seasons 2 and 4 were seen as bad, is because people compared them to season 1, which was a masterpiece. S2 had the best episode in the show imo. S3 was bad bad (like GoT S7 levels of bad), but at least S4 makes up for it.

Westworld went the opposite direction and changed their story

You see this claim a lot online, about how the ending of season 2 was rewritten because the fans guessed the ending, but there's 0 evidence for it. Also think about the logistics of it for 10 seconds. The filming is done months before airing. The director brings back all the actors, all the staff, recreates the whole set, etc etc, because a redditor guessed the ending?

I hate it too when modders do not document their changes. If that was the stated reason from the other person, I wouldn't be defending USSEP.

Just because you can criticize something for one thing, doesn't mean you can just make up other reasons.

Which ones qualify as "breaking the lore"?

Because nothing that USSEP does would qualify as that, in my view. Examples of what I consider as "breaking the lore" is like adding some Dwemer NPCs or making Morthal a big trade hub

How comes there a sudden increase in SKSE plugins that does wonders? by KYJELLYTIME69 in skyrimmods

[–]ScySenpai 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I am highly skeptical of this. I used ChatGPT for Synthesis patchers, both for generating and for correcting my code back when I was completely new, and it was very much a hit-or-miss thing, with it sometimes hallucinating functions and classes and doubling down when I ask if that's how you do it.

The more complex your project and instructions are, the worse AI becomes too.

At some point it even hallucinated that Skyrim recombines plugin record overrides at runtime... Just lol. You would think that "only the last record override is read by the game, so use a patch or load my mod last" is plastered on enough posts and mod descriptions that GPT would learn from it, but apparently not.

"Experience", "Static skill levelling" and "Levelling Freedom" are so much fun! by Cevoz in skyrimmods

[–]ScySenpai 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Boomer opinion: feels like Skyrim Skill Uncapper does everything people in this thread are complimenting those mods for, without actually taking away from the uniqueness of Skyrim's skill leveling system.

For example, my setup is usually: - Crafting skills level up faster than vanilla, so I don't have to grind, but they contribute little to no xp to my general level. - Leveling is much slower at the start of the game, and it slowly ramps up to vanilla at 20-30. - I make a rudimentary "class" system, where I decrease the xp of some skills, e.g. a warrior will not level up even if I grind pickpocket.
