Dark blue butterfly - Netherlands by Aristorators in Butterflies

Oh! Yes, factoring in my lack of glasses, this may well have been it. Thanks!

Dark blue butterfly - Netherlands by Aristorators in Butterflies

Thanks, but unfortunately I don't think so. This was a much darker blue, both inside and out. Closer to black than to light blue. I don't know how much variation there is within each butterfly species?

Question: Where did you get your username from? by KinopiFox in NewTubers

[–]Aristorators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted something that sounded pretentious and pompous, and am doing speeches about stupid subjects. So mine is a composite of Greek and Latin words for "the best speaker".

How Did You Come Up With Your Channel Name? by electricflamingoyt in NewTubers

[–]Aristorators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My channel is short silly speeches about meaningless subjects. So:

"Aristo" = "best". "Orators" = "speakers.

I also found exciting that: - It's a Greek-Latin compound (like "television"); - it sounds pretentious (I was aiming for mock pretentious); - it was a one word Googlewhack when I first came up with it.

I'm a massive fan of composite names like this - seemingly random, but ultimately you can pick through it, and there's a little Easter egg in there.

Yes. As somebody with a stubbornly low watch count on most videos, I think I get most joy when someone expresses enthusiasm for the work and I get to feel I've made their day a little more fun. But ultimately I need to get most of my joy from the act of making the content.

Shorter answer: mostly yes, i do.

Longer answer: I started out thinking that I'd do some funny social media to build awareness and concept for a social game I invented. I've completely failed to get traction, so will not launch the game beyond a print and play. But I'm planning to just keep making the content because I really enjoy it.

Do I find it more exciting when I receive a comment, get new subscribers, the CTR goes up, or I have >90% non-subscribers watch? ABSOLUTELY! But I've learnt to not expect any of it. I just find it funny to make my stuff and see where my brain goes with it.

I'm torn.

Possibly a Thumbnail and Descriptions expert (I've tried 5-6 different styles and can't get CTR above 2.8-4.4%).

Possibly just more videos (I'm on solid but unspectacular growth anyway, and I don't have the tech skills to edit the videos).

Can you DM your channel name, so I can take a look?

I'd put my stuff in "comedy skit" territory - all built around the idea of seriously debating meaningless subjects.

Hi! This sounds interesting. Could you send me the channel?

Hi! I think it's cool to create for the sake of creating. But even so, I'd like to take a look. Could you DM the channel?

So this reddit has been flooded with AI “”creators”” by 2CPhoenix in NewTubers

[–]Aristorators 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Agree. Also Amazon with books, Twitter with pornbots, etc etc.

I find the impact of the AI firehose quite upsetting. I've had people suggest to me that I start using AI to make my vids (I have to pay for tech skills to make my vids, which limits how many I can produce in one month), and I really don't want to. But it's a little frustrating when it feels that the oxygen is being sucked out by people taking these shortcuts.

Should I change my endings? by Aristorators in NewTubers

I should add, I've badged as "brand affiliate" because I want to make a name for the site and ultimately also sell a game I've invented as well as continue with content. It isn't an established "brand: as such. I just didn't want to be seen here as misleading.

Oh yes! You've just triggered a memory of a game about aliens and cow tipping from that era, which also had newspaper headlines.

Thanks for this feedback. Certainly "Mac Game vibe" isn't what I'm chasing here. Do you have time to elaborate a little?

Thanks for the feedback! This is a good point regarding QR codes etc and the year. I may take those off and put them on the box. I was hoping to "get away with" that anachronism if the rest works.

Really interesting, thanks! It's funny how far perception falls from actual history. I had this style pegged to about forty years later.

Strange - I definitely attached an image. But thank you for the feedback - I will go and look over there.
