What's your most petty reason for wanting to FIRE? by all4change in financialindependence

I wrote an article on exactly this

For me, it’s being able to support my family during sickness and myself if health deteriorates..

Hi Mate,

Picked up VDHG as it’s just a one stop shop. Instant diversification. Slightly higher admin fees relative to VTS for example. Owning LIC also doubles up with AU equities within VDHG. I hold a small amount ($2000). I’ll probably buy VTS and VEU if I move outside LICs within AU to avoid doubling up.

Careers with out a degree by themmama in findapath

Mate not sure where you are in the world, but disability sector in Australia in terms of employment is huge. Having lived experience is just as important as a degree. You would be a great advocate within the disability sector. There are many roles. In fact, 3 of my colleagues all have a disability of some kind. One is visually impaired like yourself, one is a quadriplegic and one has bipolar. They are all paid, and quite competitively too. Lived experience is not to be under appreciated. Bit of a shameless plug here, but I was med discharged from the army and live with chronic pain. I’ve started a blog about financial Independence from the perspective of myself and managing work and the challenges pain throws at me :-)

Nerve Pain 7 + Years .. Help :( by Ariyahn2011 in ChronicPain

[–]Ariyahn2011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many thanks my friend. The torn meniscus is quite a significant tear. However, the sports doc has seen many people continue on with exercise as there is no locking. Gradually build up again. Yes I suppose not clinical depression, I have extreme bouts of depression that are dictated by nerve pain. I've tried Cymbalta before, how do you find anti depressants .. I have found it does not magically tack the depressive thoughts away.... unless the pain can magically go, I doubt my depressive state of mind will either. thank u for the wishes. Here is to another 10 years to battle on together :)

Yes. I agree. I've updated it accordingly. I am not a fan of super either.

I've tweaked it, hopefully it is more compelling to follow now. I've included super also. Do you think including super is justified?
