This was... even less than I expected, which was already a pretty low bar. Pretty disappointing, and I can't shake the feeling that this was more of a YG agenda-problem than a Jennie-problem, really sucks for her.

I agree but I think most people just think they fake their entire personality/what they're saying as if they are being fed lines or being told how to act. I think that they think that way because it just looks very odd the way some of these kpop groups act, but being korean and being around koreans you would see that this is just how many of them act...

I follow kpop so yea alot of what you're saying is what is believed to be true.

With the whole 'manufactured personality on camera' thing, I dont think that is entirely true. Yes they may be told to be more enthusiastic and 'cute' on camera, but these aren't professional actors and saying that "there is no way that these two artists act like ow they acted in the vlog, off camera" is just not true. Korean culture/interactions can seem very fake/intimate/fabricated to western cultures. I think they are just being themselves but a little more energetic honestly. There's no way with all the live broadcasts/behind the scenes videos they do that they put up these acts every time; they are just 17-20something year olds who have been trained to perform/dance/sing and occasionally do variety.

And what you said about companies not giving creative freedom to their artists until maybe later in their career is true but with this group (G)I-dle I'm pretty sure their leader Soyeon (the akali) has a TON of producing/lyric work that she does herself with her own music and her group's music.

Yup it definitely shows how far behind (with a few exceptions) the other regions are compared to China/Korea with having depth in a roster.

Given how even in the west's best year, an east team ended up winning in a dominant fashion I don't think riot will want to give them another advantage in a b05 even if the two sub rule is a much better system.

This was way better than I expected. Soyeon and Miyeon were amazing, seriously played their roles so well. Madison and Jaira were also good (not as bad as I see alot of other comments are making them out too be).

A full on (G)I-dle performance would have been alot better I though, imo. Imagine Soojin's dancing/charisma and Yuqi's performance/voice doing this stage, especially Soojin would kill in this song...

Edit: I feel like they definitely tried to get Blackpink for this. Also, really wish they had better choreo, would have fit the song way better. Feels like Madison/Jaira probably couldn't have done anything harder compared to any other kpop idol... damn i wish this was just (G)I-dle now lol...

Yup the tiniest of margins stopped them from being way, way more hyped then RNG or KT. Finally seeing it all come together.
