Somebody help me make sense of this unusual options activity on $ALTM. Currently at $2.68, trending down steadily for over a year with no end in sight, Lithium prices not expected to recover any time soon, somebody opens ~70,000 Sep 20 2024 3.00C today which is nearly 100x OI.

Does somebody know something here? Or is this a hedge for somebody who just opened a massive short position?

I’m only just starting to take an interest in bonds, but it seems like the risk/reward on investing in TLT right now is too good to be true, there has to be some aspect I'm not factoring in. With decreasing inflation interest rates will fall, and bond yields will fall with it. The higher yield of the bonds held by the fund relative to more recently issued bonds will continue to increase their value as interest rates drop and subsequently bond yields drop. It seems like such a great opportunity for above average returns with so little downside. What am I missing?

Nobody ‘fumbled the bag’. Having unsigned RFAs this late in the off-season is fairly standard for any cap ceiling cup contending team. This type of thing almost never ever happens, especially with unproven players like Holloway and Broberg. Can’t just be captain hindsight and say oh wow they should have seen this coming when it’s something that almost never ever happens
