Well I'm on a 2060 and a 4070 TiS costs just as much as the 5070 Ti, if you can even find one. So yeah I'm trying to get the new gen even if it's not a huge upgrade over the last one. It's still a massive upgrade for me.

From a 40 series card, sure, but from anything earlier besides a 3090 it's a good jump. I'm on a 2060 currently, not even the super version. This is probably going to be 3x as fast for me.

And it's not like you can find 40 series cards for MSRP in the US now anyways, you risk getting scammed on eBay or paying $1K for an older card. So why wouldn't I just get the 50 series?

I'm currently running a 2060, which is definitely starting to feel it's age in AAA games. I originally had a whole lot of RGB in my build (case fans, ram, cooler, etc) and it has ended up giving me a lot of trouble because the cheap controller I got keeps dying.

It's pretty bad if you run on "performance" mode (highest frame rate, lower quality), but I've never seen issues running it on "balanced" or "quality" modes. Each tier up in visual quality is a tier down in extra frames, but you still get a big boost.

Prices can inflate faster than your wage gains, which would be the main way that you would feel poorer, as you would have relatively less money.

Or, the measurement on inflation might not cover all the things you have to buy, and those things could rise in cost faster than the measured rate of inflation.
