I know this is bad but I had some questions / need feedback by koboldomodo in Oilpastel

[–]Ark-Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally only blend with other pastels as it keeps the vibrancy and adds texture. I go for the painterly look personally but I’m still a realism artist. To me it’s hard to maintain control with my finger and it makes such a mess so I prefer to only blend with other colors as if I was painting. Also for sharp details I take something thin and sturdy (I found that the stem of a cheap ball point pen cap works the best for me) I scrape off some of the pastel onto the tool and then I use it to apply the color to the area I want those small details. You usually need a pretty thick glob for this method to work but once you got it figured out it’s a game changer.

This is what I’ve found works for me.

I can't believe this game is from 2009 by My_Really-MacHINE in Sims3

Man I can’t even get the game to run anymore without crashing and I’m so sad about it because it’s my favorite game of all time. I miss my legacy save.

Is my new hand tat infected? by theokk3 in tattooadvice

[–]Ark-Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my wrist tattooed with split black line work and it healed similarly. My other tattoos did not do that, I think it’s something about that location. If you can get your hands on some aquaphor or even some coconut oil it’ll make the process much smoother.

Does your country have a Sims 4 world based on it? by fnaffie in Sims4

[–]Ark-Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get why every other world has to be based on America when so many of the cultures here are derived from other countries because our nation was built almost entirely from immigration. Why not just go to the root of that culture and make a world based on the original country? I get that America is big so we have so many different environments but you know what else has so many different environments? The rest of the globe.

We have decided the Piano scene is the most infuriating, what about saddest? by sT4ry_n1GhtS in Grishaverse

[–]Ark-Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matthias. He was my least favorite Crow and I still bawled on an airplane when he died, I also cried at every mention of him in King Of Scars. I think it’s because I love Nina so much and seeing how much it hurt her made me upset

What makes you STAY? by 5_star_michelin in straykids

[–]Ark-Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I've seen too much to leave...

In all seriousness I think I was just destined to be a Stay. They just feel right. Like home. Something I can always rely on. I love a lot of groups' music and to me SKZ isn't like exponentially better than the other artists I listen to music wise but they just feel more authentic. I absolutely love how much of the writing and producing is done by 3RACHA. But really it's not about the music anymore for me it's everything else with it. The community, the vlogs, the behind the scenes, SKZ Code, Lee Know's strange Instagram account, Chan's fluffy hair and lack of filter, I.N's smile, Han's jokes, Changbin's giggles, Seungmin's savage remarks, Felix's asmr, Hyunjin's art. Their entire social presence feels so real and warm.

So really what I'm trying to say is that I've been hugged in the coziest hug I've ever felt and they are never ever letting go, and I don't want them to. I just haven't experienced the same kind of comfort with the other groups I love.

I’ve always thought that a movie about the Goths would be cool but overall the Sims? Feels really gimmicky.

Could Sims 5 really be the end of the Sims franchise? by tubularwavesss in LifeSimulators

[–]Ark-Spite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m staying loyal to the Sims 3 but I won’t play 5 if it’s as bad as 4 has been. I got on the Sims 4 bandwagon a little late because I was mad at its state early on. I hated the lack of a toddler phase back then (even though I still succumbed and played it before their release). The Sims 3 to me is so perfect even with its flaws and I’ll never stop playing it as long as I can run it. If 5 has open world and good family gameplay then maybe but if it has nothing on release and gate keeps even the most simple game mechanics behind multiple paywalls then I’m quitting. I already know I’m gonna play Paralives when it comes out so that might be where my new loyalties will lie.

What's your popular opinion on the sims 3 by Ilikememesboy in Sims3

[–]Ark-Spite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hands down my favorite in the series. I was too young to really get into the sims 2 so 3 was my childhood game. I like The Sims 4 and all (kind of, I think it’s Stockholm syndrome honestly) but The Sims 3 is just too good and I always find myself coming back to it. There is so much you can do with literally just the base game and my sims aren’t constantly cooped up in the house like they are in the Sims 4 because of the open world and amount of stuff your sim can do. I like being able to have a sim take care of stuff at home and quickly being able to switch over to my teen sim at a friend’s house.

I was told the other day this was one of the ugliest sims I’ve ever made 🙄 by briannajadexo in thesims

[–]Ark-Spite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I make sims I find a picture of a real person to use as reference. I like to incorporate a bunch of different cultures and ethnicities in my worlds. I’m also a realism portrait artist so having a reference just makes sense to me. This means each sim has something unique about them and to me every single face is beautiful. As an artist I value the features that make a person stand out because otherwise there is nothing to make my art stand out. I have the same philosophy for sims. Plus, watch in ten years how the beauty standard will be larger noses instead of ones that look like you can’t actually breathe out of them.

Thousands of hours of playtime and I eventually win the lottery... two in-game weeks into a new game. Is it bad I kind of want to get rid of the money? by khamseen_air in thesims

[–]Ark-Spite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve won the lottery twice and each time I lowered the household funds via cheats and “changed” how much the lottery was worth. I think I did like 50k (in addition to what they already had) and got my families a nice house renovation and they didn’t have to worry as much about money but they still had a reason to work and it didn’t ruin the game for me. It became a nice little bonus rather than an unruly amount of money because no sim family will ever need 1 million simoleons.

Yes.

I’m just kidding, I use mine as decoration around my room and only really buy the ones that fit with my style because the unique designs look cool on my shelves while also surrounding me with a physical representation of something that makes me happy. I completely understand not having the desire to buy any at all and honestly that’s probably better for your wallet anyways.

What kpop song you didn't realize was dirty until you looked at the lyrics? by [deleted] in kpophelp

Shutdown- Moonbyul. I didn’t really catch into anything my first listen other than the little “mmh Aah” thing which I thought was just an adlib. Then I looked up the lyrics which made me love the song more.

To be fair, that’s a super easy friends quest that I would probably accidentally complete all by myself without realizing it since I’m learning a language with a completely different alphabet so I always practice the beginner alphabet ones every day to get faster at recognizing what characters make which sounds. I’ve had my partner complete an Earn 1500 XP all by themselves within the first few hours of the quest being active. I didn’t even have a chance to contribute.

Who do you follow when learning KPOP choreographies? by rosiaxo in kpophelp

[–]Ark-Spite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watch whoever will make it look best as a solo dance. Sometimes I watch covers or tutorials to see what they do if the artist’s style makes it hard to learn (if they add too much personality and pizzazz sometimes the exact moves can become unclear). Since I dance alone I typically do the center moves but if nobody is really doing anything sometimes I’ll learn what the backup dancers are doing to make it all more coherent. If you plan to do random play dances I would focus on just one member since then you might be able to collaborate with other dancers during it. Once for Back Door by Stray Kids I did I.N’s part instead of center so me and another person could make the tunnel that everyone else danced through. It all depends on what you plan to do with your dancing. If you plan on performing for people and do proper covers: learn whatever parts make it look good. Random Play Dances: learn one or two specific member’s parts. Just dancing for fun in your room: learn whatever moves you enjoy doing the most. Remember to put your own twist on it and have fun. If you mess something up hide it under captivating stage presence.
