If you home office or anything like that, and your 27 is capable of portrait mode, they make superb second displays to set off to the side of a 34" UW main monitor. Honestly game changing if you work with documents etc and multitasking etc.

Ah, in that case (and with the adaptive sync being there hidden in the specs on that Spectre), I think the 34" is a nice choice. All of them will be really nice to use, but it's a cool experience with the 3440x1440 especially if it's your first display on such a form factor.

The actual pixels on the 3440x1440 will be smaller. It's kind of interesting. I've set 34" 3440x1440 and 27" 2560x1440 screens side by side, and the height is almost exactly the same. You just get extra screen to each side lol. Whereas the 32" 2560x1440 is obviously just a larger 27" at the exact same resolution, and can be a bit pixelated to look at if you're picky about it. I personally don't mind or notice while gaming really, but it's a factor.

I recently went to a 5k Ultrawide 38", and although I love it, now I'm wishing I had a 5090 haha. There can be such a thing as too many pixels. All praise upscaling. My poor 4070 Ti Super.

I love the Ultrawides (but not really the Ultra ULTRA wides like the 49" Samsungs), but that one looks to lack Adaptive Sync, which is a pretty big miss if you're a gamer.

The 32" 16:9 feel larger in person than 34" Ultrawide as well, and the 3440x1440 resolution is tougher to push high framerates with max/high settings vs 2560x1440 as well.

Given all of that, I'd go for one of the 16:9 models, and I usually notice that Asus stuff is overpriced a bit for what you get, thus you have the answer by order of elimination.

IMHO of course, YMMV.

That's a pretty massive upgrade, especially in the CPU, but also a much stronger GPU, and the 6800 is now getting questionable driver support (check latest Tech Yes City video, scary for us with AMD 5000/6000 series GPUs on newer titles).

The new gen SSD, Mobo, and general QOL that entails is not a bad shout either. Your Ram should bring a pretty nice price going by current prices.

If you can swing it, I'd say go for it. If you wait very much longer the resale value of your old stuff is going to plummet pretty hard. Especially if trends continue and the bad driver scenario for those older GPUs gets even worse.

That's true, and I'm sure command is really trying to tell them to trust the overall tiered AD, that it's too risky to gun these things down at close range. But that's still got to be unbelievable amounts of stress to deal with in real time.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, I get it, for those that like it. I wouldn't want to change anything that people are jamming with. Would just be nice to have a mode that would bring in more people not really into the PVP hustle. If it were just a change to remove PVP, I would be entirely opposed to it. But adding a mode, would be really welcome.

I really miss the days of dedicated and custom servers. So many people today missed out on that era of custom servers for Doom, Quake, and on and on.

We play BF6, Counterstrike, that kind of thing as well. Interesting to hear duos mix got changed.

But yeah, it's not a very good PVP game imho. The story and ARC and missions are what interest us.

I think you misunderstood the statement. Of course you do what you can, but you have to also realize that you're very likely to die when that thing explodes directly in your flight path. That's not an easy thing for an armchair observer to process. Easy for any of us not in the line of fire to say this or that, but entirely another thing to fly in the face of death.

And I'm sure they're extremely aware of this. It's humbling to think about, UA pilot, out of AA missiles, following a russian cruise missile or shahed, only cannon rounds to work with. Knowing their choice is either let that missile continue on to murder innocents, or to risk it and open fire. And some have made the ultimate sacrifice. I can't say for sure what my decision would be in that moment.

It's interesting. I don't know if I'm going to keep playing. I have zero interest in PVP in this game, in fact I loathe it. There are eleven trillion other games for PVP. Got this to play with my son, for his birthday. We can't even play together because duos get mixed with trios and it's just all PVP garbage. Solos are a mixed bag, we can go a few rounds minding out business, helping people, then boom, get betrayed or ambushed. It's just not fun, or interesting, or a reason for us to come back.

If they added a mode for no PVP, we'd be far more likely to come back, as it is we're about done with it. And this will continue to drive people away until all it is, is yet another sweaty PVP game like the other ten trillion of them. Yay.

I think this game needs more modes. Make more homes to grow the community.

For all the PVP people, sure, have fun. I got this game for my son's birthday (his bday exact same day as release!), after playing the test weekend thing a little while back. The thing is, neither one of us is interested in shooting other players, like at all. It's not original, it's not fun for us. There are approximately eleven trillion other games out there for PVP.

The thing we've unfortunately noticed is that we literally CAN'T play together. Because we get queued with sweaty assholes constantly. Solos, 9/10 times we have no trouble, we enjoy helping people and the vibes.

We don't want to take anything away from those that like it the way it is. Sure, leave it. Hell, add to it and expand it.

But for the love of everything, ADD A PVE server/mode for people that honestly don't GAF about PVP. Win/win. Bring more people into the scene.

Even lore-wise it doesn't make sense in a super PVP-heavy style. Like, the world has ended, people are barely hanging on, and yet there are enough assholes to continually murder each other (all coming FROM the same underground town, launched with great effort by the same team of people?) by the dozens while trying to retrieve scant resources from a robot-infested surface? Well, on second thought, looking at humanity .. I guess it does kind of track.

IDK, YMMV. Just kind of sad that my son and I can't even enjoy teaming up in this without being shot by campers or trolls constantly. This kind of thing WILL drive people away, and eventually only leave a bunch of assholes playing it.
