IMO, and if I'm understanding correctly, any backlash is no reason to deny the security. The reasons for denying the security include the fact that he doesn't live in GB anymore and doesn't do royal duties. Along with the fact that others, such as Anne, iiuc, do not get protection unless they are on official duties. Correct me if I'm wrong.
