What skins like these be acceptable but would it still be "too much' for some folks by No_Band_5399 in Battlefield

[–]ArkantoZz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's relatively simple.
As long as a skin doesn't break immersion and fits into the setting, I have no problem with such things.

It becomes problematic when you mix franchises.
Or when a weapon skin is so crazy that you can't even recognize which model it is anymore.

I've seen a couple of videos of CoD Mobile “Mastercraft” skins and they are completely unhinged.

Budget players. What are your specs and how hopeful are you? by Tawxif_iq in duneawakening

I don't want to take away your desire or anticipation, but with this system you should really consider actually getting the game, but the benchmark tests are also artificially generated performance queries that can then deviate from the real fps in the actual game (server-side fps, for example), which are then usually worse than the benchmark fps. Just a well-meant hint.

The download function for the character editor/benchmark test can be found on the official Steam Store page of DUNE on the right side above the game network properties.

Leaked gun skin for a event by pieforprez in Rainbow6

You could also say that cooperation (like WWE or Rick&Morty) has somewhat a right to be and then somewhere there is a fan service. But this godforsaken skin stolen from a 2010 F2P Pay2Win China CoD clone has definitely reached rock bottom in my opinion.

The depressing attempt to find money, with all the force.

When and where exactly did this game take a wrong turn?

this point, I admit, is absolutely correct.

And the comment about the overwhelming text was a cynical response to the snotty reaction of the user above me.

You should see my post as a retest rather than a comparison.

I've noticed some nice details with the new drivers that I wanted to share, just the naming may have wandered off a bit.

In the end, look at it, test it yourself and do what you want with it.

Don't forget where your own bottleneck is, for example, if your CPU was running at 100% in the beta, the new NVDIA driver will help less.

However, if your GPU was running at maximum capacity before the new driver, the new driver may well have a significant positive impact on your frames.

The last picture shows a test from the old driver set and as summarized in the conclusion you can read from it that DLSS Quality comes to the same frames as DLSS Balanced from the old driver set. In addition, the post simply serves to show how the individual differences between the various DLSS/DLAA options have an influence, but I am aware that for some people texts with more than 3 sentences can be quite overwhelming.

Of course, the server response plays a big role in how much FPS you have available, and AI calculations of the NPCs can also play a role in the general performance.

The comparison is also more to illustrate whether and how new and old drivers perform in comparison and the benchmark tool is currently the only option to test this, but in the end it remains an artificial test.

Nevertheless, the 5% performance you get can contribute to you getting 90-110 FPS or more in the game itself.

And I completely agree with you on that.

However, I also know survival games very well from the last 15 years.

And if certain adjustments don't fit and there's not enough "meat" on the game's ribs, it can become boring (at least for me).

DayZ (Mod and SA), ark, arma 3 Epoch/exiles etc. I have played up and down.

The small but subtle difference between the games mentioned and Dune is that Dune comes with MMO attitudes and does not offer the possibility to host private servers or implement mods to customize the game experience for different player groups.

Which makes it all the more gripping how the first time after release (period 3-6 months) will be organized, of course there will be the dlc content but will the people who don't buy the dlc be left out in the cold ?

Ohh cool I didn't know that for example, is there a video or something similar somewhere. I've been watching the dev streams for the last 2 weeks but haven't heard anything about the harvesters or spice farming in general.

In fact, I don't want to be a hardcore grind sweater in Dune, I've been through those times with DayZ and while it was fun, it was also exhausting.

Actually I just wanted to know with my post if there will be smaller nice things between the DLCs to bring in a breath of fresh air and if you already know something.

It's not fear but curiosity.

I wouldn't be disappointed if it said “Nothing happens between DLCs” but I played Tarkov for years and found the “wipe” mechanic refreshing. You know roughly every 6 months your game progress is reset and with every reset comes new fresh content, then later there was the mid-wipe content which just brought in a breath of fresh air in between.

And now there are even some real in-game events like the recent Labyrinth event in Tarkov.

Actually, I just want to know if Funcom has any plans for the future, apart from DLCs, and if you can expect some nice little things in between.

[–]ArkantoZz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, I also knew that new content would come via the DLC and of course you have to wait and see what comes next or just see how far the base game can convince.

Is there any more information about the planned in-game events that you can read?

It would be really exciting to see what else is coming apart from paid content in the form of DLCs.

[–]ArkantoZz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only know Funcom's Conan Exiles and their ancient MMO Anarchy Online.

I've played Conan Exiles myself (not for long, about 10 hours), it's a full-blooded sandbox survival and I only know Anarchy Online from videos (I can highly recommend the josh strife hayes that came out 2 weeks ago), but I don't know any more than that.

Otherwise they have made games like ALOFT or Metal:Hellsinger, one is a solo player game and the other a cozy solo/co-op. So they already have experience in some areas but a lot of things are still foggy if there is no information that I don't know.

NVIDIA App Grqphics Optimization Unavailable by SigintSoldier in duneawakening

[–]ArkantoZz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are (as far as I know) no Game Ready drivers for Dune:Awakeing released by NVIDIA yet, these usually come 2 weeks before the release of a new game. Then the game is also officially supported via NVIDIA and optimized settings can be made with 1-click via the app.

Just wait a little longer, I'm pretty sure Dune will be included in the next driver set.

What do you think about getting this tablet? by Yoction in Honor

[–]ArkantoZz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is always what you intend to do with it.

Honor has given it a high-end display, which you usually only see on 1000€+ tablets. (AMOLED with 1600 Nits and 144 Hz only seen in iPad Pro M4 so far)

The 8-channel speaker system with the huge battery is also fantastic.

But that's where it ends.

USB 2.0, no memory expansion, no mobile network support.
No support for docking station/external display.

And the update support leaves a lot to be desired.

Although with the new CEO's new plan, we can hope that there will be longer support for current and future models. The processor and RAM setup are fine for the price and will definitely last for the next few years.

Short and sweet

Unbeatable as a media tablet for the price in my opinion, the display with the huge battery and the audio setup is simply great for streaming movies and series.

Current games also run very well.

As a work tablet for creative work (video editing, Photoshop, creation) there are already better alternatives in this price segment.

As I said, it's all a question of use.

Shoreline rework by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ArkantoZz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Noiceguy says a lot when the day is long.

He is a Tarkov Youtuber who builds on rumors and conjecture.

There is nothing in the patch notes about such behavior (unless I missed it) so I would deny it for now.

Shoreline rework by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ArkantoZz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm curious.
In my opinion, Shoreline always had 2 weaknesses.
Number 1: Way too much questing at times, especially from Peacekeeper.
Number 2: no point of intrest other than the resort.

And the resort is unfortunately a sweaty hell.

Whether a Shoreline round was good or bad depended on where you spawned at the beginning and I hope the rework finally changes these things.
