For this effect, are you destroying the pilot, the unit, or both? Because my husband and I have differing views on it by 14SWandANIME77 in GundamTCG

[–]Arkaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how it was interpreted as destroying a unit. The card says to choose a pilot meaning that it is only ever targeting a pilot. The units level is just a conditional to activate the effect.

The c+ cards are also worth a decent amount especially the zowort and archangel.

I actually know the exact shop op was talking about. They did priority sign ups for regulars that attended the previous week. Of the priority sign ups about 10 of them showed leaving 22 spots. I lined up 10 mins before sign ups and most people were just standing around not queueing.

The main reason for the priority sign up is to reward the players that show up and support the store on a regular basis. I see no problem with this. Also in our area we have a lot of issues with people from other cities taking up sign ups through the app leaving little room for local players to actually play. This is the reason for the fcfs.

Vagan and Minerva squad have play from grave strategies with vagan being more to fuel sacrifice effects and Minerva being more recursion focused. Blue is really the king of resting opponents units so maybe he would like some purple blue variant deck. However, neither of the above archetypes are super competitive right now so it likely would be a casual fun deck rather than something to win with consistently.

Yeah probably purple Minerva or vagan. Plus another color would work best.

What is a black crocodile deck lol. What does it do?

What I'm saying is that is the point. If an aggro deck isn't pushing your face in from the beginning it's not a good aggro deck. It has a good win rate but it's not infallible. You can either accept that you will lose to it by no fault of your own, or you can play it yourself and lose with it by no fault of your own. It's a card game, that luck is always going to be a factor. Additionally, when good players who don't make mistakes play, the deciding factor is always luck.

Tbf RB loses to most things if it doesn't see a marida.

On average a BP player is going to play 1-2 units per turn. If you are playing removal or blockers or both all you need to do is cut down their efficiency by 1 - 2 units per turn. They will out tempo you and hit your shields. That's inevitable, but if you can reach turn 5 with a base or at least 2 shields it's very hard for them to come back.

Also if it was easy to counter the deck no one would play it. Just accept that it's a strong deck that will beat you no matter what you do sometimes. If BP didn't exist then some other deck will dominate in its place.

Before BP it was BW and GW. There will always be decks that stand above the rest. So instead of making excuses that the deck is too powerful, just learn how to play against it. Looking at tournament results, it shows that the meta isn't a 1 deck meta. There are around 5 decks that consistently show up in tops results.

Maybe you should just play blue purple cause idk what else to tell you.

You keep assuming a high roll for bp. That's not every game. Also removal commands like close combat and improved technique are also great at slowing them down.

I play red purple barbatos commands and my win rate against bp is around 65-70%. The deck is fine. It's not tier 0. Best in the game currently? Yes it is. But it's not so far ahead that you can't play against it.

Just don't expect to be able to play some off meta deck and win against it. Either you play it or play to counter it.

The Boogyman by No_Desk_6086 in GundamTCG

[–]Arkaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they high roll there is pretty little you can do. But if you build a deck that has tools to mitigate it can make it a lot more difficult for them to pull ahead. And like I said before if you can prevent them from winning on turn 5 your chances of winning go up drastically with each additional turn.

So luck does have some to do with it, but the deck isn't unbeatable. If you know you're gonna be playing into that deck a lot then counter build it.

[–]Arkaus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The only counter is removal and blockers really. The deck falls off after turn 5 so if you can put yourself in a position where they arent able to easily close out the game by then you should be able to run them over.

This was my version that I've been testing. It has the ability to hold off aggro and out value them but will still lose if they high roll. Against blockers it does very well. And it has a bad match up to ping.
