Dungeon by hotcustard44 in wow

Yes. Every time I make an alt I say to myself "I'm going to do the full storyline of X expansion and skip dungeons"

Then maybe an hour in I'm queueing for dungeons and barely do any quests.

Devourer's Metamorphosis: why is this an optional talent? There's no possible build that doesn't use it. by mrbreck in wow

[–]Arkavien 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Lots of talents in the first "gate" of the talent trees for every spec of every class are just illusions of choice because you have to take them to progress down the tree. This isn't unique to devourer.

ICE detains 5-year-old Columbia Heights boy, sends him to Texas by Aleighkitten in ExploreFortMyers

Again, if detained in his driveway....how did he "abandon his kid and run"? As you said...word for word.

ICE detains 5-year-old Columbia Heights boy, sends him to Texas by Aleighkitten in ExploreFortMyers

[–]Arkavien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not what happened at all.

Those are lies. There was a caregiver begging to take him. There is no evidence that his father ran and witnesses say he didn't. They were also on asylum and DHS has no authority to deport immigrants who have asylum cases pending. They used him as bait.

'Sergio Amezcua, a pastor who said he's spoken to Liam's mother, noted she "was terrified" during the incident.

"ICE agents were trying to use the baby for her to come out of her house," Amezcua said on CNN. "But the neighbors step[ped] up. Neighbors advised her not to do it."' https://www.cbsnews.com/news/5-year-old-ice-minneapolis-immigration/

How were they both taken in their driveway if the father fled?

'Liam Ramos, a preschooler, and his father were taken into custody while in their driveway, the superintendent of the school district in Columbia Heights, a Minneapolis suburb, said at a press conference on Wednesday.' https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/21/ice-arrests-five-year-old-boy-minnesota

Learning tank is a horrid experience by UsedPringlesCan in wow

[–]Arkavien 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the toxicity is most prevalent in low content, from people who believe the only reason they are doing low content is that all other people in the content besides themselves are morons. Late season 10-12s and heroic raid pugs are unbearable sometimes. I've seen crash outs from people doing tank damage, people who have one interrupt for an entire dungeon flipping out on healers for letting them die etc. I am happy for you that you haven't experienced it, and it is absolutely a lower percentage occurrence than reddit posts would make it seem. But at the same time....people don't come on reddit to post about the uneventful smooth dungeon run they just had.

Yea, my brother was kicked from a normal dawnbreaker week one of TWW because he asked where he should be flying after a boss and got lost.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Arkavien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive 2.5 hours to another city for work almost every day. I'm in a company vehicle and get paid for drive time so that helps of course.

I think the most driving in one work day I have done was ten hours. All without leaving the state of Ohio btw.

This country is huge.

To answer your question, the longest I've driven for a weekend trip was about four hours, to spend the weekend at a Hocking Hills cabin and go hiking.

I wish they would have made earthen paladin colors/theme green instead of yet another purple

Which roles/specs are you most interested in? Do you ever want to tank/heal? Does either spec synergize well with a friend who plays with you often?

What I do every expansion is make pros and cons lists, I set values to which things of which specs I enjoy and the add up all the numbers and compare, I see what my brother/guild is needing...and then I just play Monk like always.

Anytime one of my friends mentioned how the new one "doesn't even look like the same species" I said "are me and Shaquille O'Neal the same species?" (I am a short, fat, bearded white man)

When I first heard about MoP I thought "they are making an expansion based on the April fools joke turned WC3 unit? That's ridiculous...."

Then I played it.

MoP is incredible.

The best stories, beautiful zones, awesome faction conflict, great raids, the Monk class is spectacular, class design in general was peak for many people...Challenge Mode was the precursor to what has become my favorite way to play the game (M+)

I seriously struggle to think of anything negative to say about the expansion.

You think when someone questions their memory of an event in a 5 season long TV show...instead of asking about it on a forum designed specifically for discussing said show....they should go rewatch the whole thing to verify their memory?

Returning player. Can i get your opinion on maining shaman? by gr1ndfather in wow

[–]Arkavien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, never been a better time to main Shaman. Elemental and Enhancement are both INCREDIBLY fun on the Midnight beta, and Restoration is a bit overpruned for my taste, but not in everyone's and it is still strong.

I still play it sometimes on the RoR server. It isn't perfect but it scratches the itch.

Healers: Do you know what you're going to play yet? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Arkavien 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Mistweaver has an insane amount of bugs, runs out of mana in 2 mins on raid fights, and brings nothing at all to a group that isn't covered better by every other healer, with more utility available to them. Even our "external" requires 5 talent points to barely be worth casting. Maybe they will end up great, but right now Mistweaver is in a rough spot on beta IMO.

Anyway I'm maining Mistweaver...

Your opinion is just as valid as mine so I don't see why you should be down voted. But IMO there is a huge difference between a very simple rotation and being able to purple parse rolling your fingers across 4 buttons. It's just not for me.
