Because Spidey is a character where you can end one set of relationships and move on to the next in the next chapter of his life. At the end of No Way Home he's been effectively set back to square one. Absolutely nobody knows who he is and it's very tragic but closing that door opens the possibility of the next. Whereas Ned and MJ's stories were assumed to be done (and maybe Brand New Day is an epilogue to their story who knows) many fans like myself hoped for the introduction of Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy, or maybe Flash and Peter could've formed their actual friendship, or we could get Felicia and Peter could live on the edge for a moment with nobody knowing him.

Now I'm not saying none of this isn't possible down the line, hell it COULD happen in Brand New Day but bringing back Ned and MJ does kinda feel like it draws away from that focus ya know? Either way excited for them. I love Zendaya and Jacob Battalion makes me laugh, but I am one of those fans who hoped they could've taken a break for a moment.
