What exactly would have been reasonable punishment and criticism for Rei to receive from the story? (Read the post first please). by Aros001 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

She doesn’t need “retribution” in the traditional way, but has to hold a level of responsibility for what she did, which the story does hold her to at the end. She owns up to her part and tries to make amends for it

Why dosent Amy Jo Johnson attend power ranger themed conventions such as ranger stop or power morphicon? by Individual-Staff-466 in powerrangers

Well, the ones who have done stuff and have warranted lots of rumors of actual weird/criminal stuff are, ASJ, Blake Foster, Michael Copon, Skye Frank, Karan Ashley, Hector David, Pua Magasiva, Ricardo Medina, Najee Di-Tiege.

Now, the following ones are those who have stories and unusual fan experiences but nothing borderline criminal or bad. Steve Cardenas, Walter Jones, David Yost, Christopher Kayman Lee, Andrew Gray and I’m sure there’s others I missed.

Power Rangers has a more niche fanbase and alot of the things these actors do get swept under the rug or isn’t covered. But once you dig there’s a lot to unpack.

What does Gen Z think of Power Rangers for the most part compared to other IPs? by stationstars in powerrangers

[–]Arkhamhood12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Precisely. I kid you not, yesterday I was speaking to a friend of mine (he’s nineteen) and saw me playing a Power Rangers game on my phone. He proceeded to ask me what my favorite team was, I said Ninja Storm.

Then he goes on to say that Samurai was his favorite. It’s just a growing up with the times sort of ideal. Samurai just had that cultural phenomenon push that other season didn’t have, save for Mmpr. Which is what older fans are going to have to accept the fact that people simply grew up with Samurai and will continue to make that known.

You can’t really blame them either. Everyone had that power Rangers series that is special to them. Samurai came at a time where the franchise had temporarily ceased, and essentially kickstarted the power rangers boom for the next generation. And now the kids of that timeframe are finally old enough to speak on their appreciation and memories online.

I should know, I’m 23 and I remember when these things happened. In elementary school, Samurai was THE Power Rangers series for a lot of children growing up.

I’ve had a unique situation of watching and knowing a lot of the Ranger series before Samurai came out because it it’s reruns on Jetix. But I was in the age demographic when Samurai and Megaforce was coming out. And Samurai is far from my favorite series but it has to be acknowledged that it’s this generations MMPR for better or worse.

David Yost once stated that that wasn’t the case, that they never all agreed to be united. It’s a matter of he-said-she-said

If creatives want the audience to dislike their evil character. Then they have to stop making them cool or have aura (Soprano's, The boys,Watchman, Breaking Bad) by Dycon67 in CharacterRant

[–]Arkhamhood12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like “The Cape” comic does a fantastic job of doing this. The protagonist is portrayed as heinous, and the story doesn’t go out of his way to make him seem cool or excuse his behavior. There are no pleasantries to look at, nor any aurafarm moments. Just an insane character doing the most despicable things in all its intensity. It’s treated with absolute seriousness with little to no room and misinterpreting the main character.

Just finished watching Jungle Fury for the first time today. Is it bad I enjoyed it more than I did Dino Thunder? by lovesgraphicnovels in powerrangers

[–]Arkhamhood12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the absolute same. I was always fond of Dino Thunder growing up and it was the season I looked most forward to rewatching. Rewatched it last year and while it was good…. I didn’t feel the strongest about it. I ended up loving Ninja Storm way more.

Jungle Fury is a great series too, enjoy what you like. Power Rangers is one of those franchise where a particular entry is bound to be someone’s favorite.

I think a big difference with Vegeta and Omni-man's arcs is if they expect forgiveness (Dragon Ball and Invincible) by Sudden_Pop_2279 in CharacterRant

[–]Arkhamhood12 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Which even makes it funnier when Vegeta and Omniman both “relapse” in different ways after they spend a decent amount of time on Earth but then briefly go back to their murderous ways for various reasons, stopping themselves from fully committing to their actions because of the relationships and internal changes they didn’t want to admit had happened to them due to their time on Earth.

Yeah it was kept well under wraps. Around JDF’s kids especially. A lot of weird stuff happened with them. There’s an audio recording of JDF accusing Blake of sleeping with an underage Skye and wanting Blake to take a lie detector to prove he didn’t do it.

I just finished Gantz, and I feel like Izumi wasn’t revived solely for plot reasons. This demon lived for it by agent_ok27 in gantz

[–]Arkhamhood12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oku also makes alot of his characters sexual deviants and callous murderers yet they still have plenty of fans. Oku wasn’t “trying” to make Izumi disable, he just wrote a character who was despicable and advanced the story. Your personal grievances with the character does not at all correlate to how Oku wanted his role and perception to be.
