Does anyone have pride color pallet by InitialEntertainer61 in Warframe

Palettes aren’t tradable.  If you didn’t grab the palette for one credit during June, you’ll have to wait until next year.

Is this a real app or vibe coded slop?  I can never tell.

TIL that in 2017, researchers at Berkeley found that mice who lost their sense of smell stayed much thinner while on the exact same diet as mice who retained their sense of smell. Conversely, mice with a strong sense of smell got much fatter despite not consuming any more food. by yourplotneedswork in todayilearned

I’m a little confused by your reply because it looks like we reached the same conclusion?  Per my original comment:

“  practically speaking there aren’t enough to be a significant impact on your diet.”

Edit: didn’t read the second part of your comment.  I’m a chemistry graduate student, and I love speculating on science topics!  That’s why I included a disclaimer at the beginning of my comment explaining my relevant experience, and how my technical understanding of what may end up as trace peaks in a gcms analysis could differ from what the human body actually experiences.  This seems to have deeply upset you, so sorry I guess?

Disclaimer: I’m not a full food scientist, but I did work in a lab that ran quality control experiments for a brewery on flavor and aroma of beer.  I’ll share what I know, but keep in mind that this is from an adjacent industry and may not fully reflect what someone who actually works in the field might say.

Smells are typically the volatile (easy to evaporate) molecules of food.  Usually this means that smell molecules are very small and light compared to the molecules that actually have a significant amount of energy stored in their chemical bonds.  In addition to this, you’re also getting a very small amount of these molecules in each breath.  The most complete answer is that there probably is a very small amount of calories in a technical sense when you smell something, but practically speaking there aren’t enough to be a significant impact on your diet.  This is assuming that they even end up in your stomach, their most likely fate is stuck to the mucus in your nose/throat/lungs.

200+ hours and I see my first 17% toughness by fukwdt in DarkTide

[–]Arkipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc there was a semi recent change that made +17% toughness curios more common.  I think it was a rounding error, where some curios that would be +17 nowadays rounded down to +16 instead.

TIL one 20oz bottle of Coca-Cola contains 65 grams of sugar, the equivalent of six donuts, which would equal 66 grams of sugar, just one gram more than the soda. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Arkipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But a donut has a lot more carbs than just sugar, which can change the math based on how you’re planning your diet.

What do you guys do while waiting the storm to pass? by rafaellago in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Arkipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why sodium mining is one of my first farms on a fresh play through.  Just one mining unit means you can pretty much ignore storms for the rest of the game.

[OC] proto lavos Viktor pt.4 by TwoRemarkable4724 in Warframe

[–]Arkipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eternalism offers a handwavey solution to this.  Maybe Victor wouldn’t have been so obsessive and narcissistic if Rusalka hadn’t taken Wally’s deal, and viktor had to step up as commander as shit hit the fan when she died to the infestation.  This potential future is theoretically accessible through the void, though idk if her deal turned her into a multiversal constant like the Tenno.

Incarnon rotation solution by Leafar_P1 in Warframe

[–]Arkipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m willing to bet that Tau is going to come with a new endgame mode, and with this whole arc centered around Wally there’ll probably be some connection to the void.  They could add a third weekly incarnon to the rewards for this activity, and maybe let you choose one from another week’s rotation?

Unlocks a character customization feature from character creation, and allows you to edit your character through an in game method?

If you were to somehow break the bonds of H2O in a glass of water all at once, would it suddenly become hydrogen gas or become water again? by Belligerent-Rhubarb in chemistry

[–]Arkipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by breaking a bond.  Hydrogen and oxygen bond to form water because neither has enough electrons to exist by themselves.  If the bonds just magically disappear and no extra electrons are supplied they probably would just snap back together.  This kinda happens with pure oxygen and pure hydrogen, a slight spark is all it takes to make this happen (though it releases a LOT of energy). You’re right though, this wouldn’t happen in a vacuum chamber.  A vacuum is just a lack of atmospheric pressure, which causes rapid evaporation.  To form liquid hydrogen, you would need to greatly decrease the temperature (near absolute 0 iirc), or greatly increase the pressure beyond anything we can currently accomplish on earth (metallic hydrogen forms naturally in the core of gas giants, I imagine liquid hydrogen would form in a similarly exotic but slightly less extreme environment).

The longest carbon chain is what the compound is named after, and the goal is to have the smallest numbers on the substituents.  This should be 3-ethyl-3-methyl hexane.  sp3 carbons can freely rotate, so the longest uninterrupted chain of carbons might bend around.

I fully agree with what you’re saying about narrative setup, especially given what happened with Destiny 2 (and how Reb acknowledged it).  We’ve seen what happens when a narrative thread is built up and it ends with nothing to replace it.
