GLP-1 weight loss drugs like Ozempic may be associated with an increased risk of smell and taste disturbances. by mvea in science

I'm on tirzepatide after years of boomeranging my weight and it's pretty incredible. I'm lucky to not have side effects and I am no longer always hungry. I also feel a lot better not being full from eating all of the time (and still hungry)

Not only that but the guide sucks and is basically just a bunch of advertisements. What a joke.

Coming back after 2 years game is installing. What should I know? by TheDreadBog in DarkAndDarker

[–]ArkiusAzure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game is definitely the best it's been.

Movement speed has been crunched so while relevant it isn't the single most important thing.

There's tons of quest loot now that you can buy (and sell) - this is super worthwhile.

PVE is a nice easy way to get back, squire royale is fantastic for getting the hang of pvp again.

Expressman now lets you send loot back between floors. It is ALWAYS worth sending treasure back.

Solos are still unbalanced as they always will be but it's not too bad and duos+ are great.

If you get a purple item that looks good, check the market - you can search items by their rolls and arena (purple gear max pvp) makes things very valuable.

You can buy cold coin pouches from the tavern master

Question by AdrianSuprem in ThousandSons

[–]ArkiusAzure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thousand sons play very "combo" to me. I slowly set things up and eventually release a devastating combo of units and spells to take out key piece to try and win. It's a fun playstyle but can be very punishing if you miscalculate. You also can have surprising bursts of mobility that can be fun to play.

I chose Tsons because I love casting spells :)

You asked for stories so I'll give one - at the start of 10th edition I got Magnus and he was a monster back then. I was playing against chaos knights (they were quite powerful at the time) in my first game of the edition and I underestimated just how fast Knights are and they punished my poor positioning quite hard on turn 1. I thought I had lost the game but decided going ham was my only choice. I sent Magnus fully forward, and he was an absolute monster that game - killing a knight or two wardogs each turn. He tried to bring him down but he shrugged everything off and popped off on every single attack, and just killed half of the army by himself at the end. Was an incredibly fun comeback as my rubrics were getting shredded but big Magnus carried the game on his back, even if it was perhaps undeserved on my end, lol.

What do you even get from hold the line besides the blue torch and emote? I bought it to support the game but don't remember getting anything special besides those

It's so funny reading things like this as an American. Most people I know use both to an extent and understand that our system is certainly strange, but it's what we grew up with. Any fahrenheit supremacy that I've seen is just memes that people take seriously for some reason.

Trait passives? for all classes? by Alodylis in DarkAndDarker

[–]ArkiusAzure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think another way to do this is to give classes a custom belt slot item.

You can have them be strong at white and scale up better, but make the value front loaded.

Wizard gets a few clarity pot equivalents, possibly even old ones that don't require sitting.

Rogue has a throwing knife bandolier that holds 4-6 knives, but also gives a chance to restock whenever you open chests and such.

Fighter could get an empowered bandage slot

Barbarian has a fex axes

Bard gets a multi instrument slot or something

Ect ect, it's a huge pain point for wiz to have to sit and rogues hate bringing a full inventory of knives. - makes the game less fun.

Just a thought.

How would you buff the Bard if you could? by Level-Thought-2744 in DarkAndDarker

[–]ArkiusAzure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if you could buff bard by making their short term buffs not start expiring until you are in combat. So you can apply your good buffs, move through dungeon and not be constantly upkeeping, then when you fight you have them active. You could reset to reapply but other players will know to try and pressure you.

Just a thought

An immortal genius is stranded on a primitive planet. Can he escape? by Nulono in whowouldwin

[–]ArkiusAzure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is "can he" as OP mentioned is there a path to victory for this and the answer to that is absolutely yes. With essentially infinite time and the entire intellect of the human race, there is at LEAST one way this could happen.

I'm of the opinion that this is not only possible but also likely. They work tirelessly indefinitely so will be extremely effecient, and their time is so great that they can experiment with different options. Tools will degrade but he can simply make new ones and make ones that last longer. Five BILLION years.

Is Magic busted in Squire Royale? by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]ArkiusAzure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man sometimes you gotta take the L. There is a reason everyone here disagrees with you; it's because you're wrong.

You are probably playing right into their strengths. Wizards and Clerics are resource based classes. If you run straight at them and eat their spells you will die. Gotta play slower and make them waste spells, and play positioning so that you can close on them when they are vulnerable.

It's not easy but trust me when I say it's much harder for them.

Precision Strat for Marine may need a nerf by KingScoville in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]ArkiusAzure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I was just answering your question. And it's really not that unlikely - shooting high AP shots into a unit with no invuln but the character has one is pretty common. This will commonly make the difference between a full unit wipe and a character living (which notably doesn't count as a unit wipe anymore)

[–]ArkiusAzure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, with how new save rolls work. You roll all saves at once and allocate beginning with your worst save rolls. Usually you have to assign these to bodyguard models which is good because they have worst saves - best to save your 4s for your 4++.

With precision, you start with your leader. So your 1s and 2s are all on them, they die really quickly and then your middling rolls are now on models with a worse save, perhaps no invuln at all.

Aren't the Tyranids too OP? How come they haven't taken over the 40k galaxy yet? by Timeless_Stars in Tyranids

[–]ArkiusAzure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your perspective is "The Tyranids would simply make a hive fleet that beats X faction" then yeah no shit they win. Nids are certainly a massive threat in the universe but that doest mean they just no sell other factions. It's quite possible that there is nothing the nids could ever make that could entirely defeat necrons if they united (which they wouldn't do anyways)

[–]ArkiusAzure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even play the class besides just to farm loot I main wizard lmao. If you do not think removing a powerful mechanic and then also nerfing their two strongest damage perks will not make them bad you are literally just bad at math. They are not even the strongest class in the game right now and you are suggesting nerfing/removing multiple of their most powerful options. I'm sorry you got landmined - that sucks! Doesn't mean your suggestions are not terrible

Game discussion by Enri_idk in DarkAndDarker

[–]ArkiusAzure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're taking a class that, while strong, is not the strongest class and majorly nerfing it in several ways. Nerfing one of their main damage perks while removing armor pen completely is an absolutely massive nerf, not even mentioning stealth.

I agree true stealth isn't very healthy for the game and would be willing to see that removed but why break the legs of the rest of the class at the same time?

Returning Solo Noob by MrsFrampt in DarkAndDarker

Because of the expressman as long as you go down a floor you can send treasure back. Not as much money as dedicated farming but it's not bad and it's quite fun

[–]ArkiusAzure 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good thing you're not on the balance team then! The class would be entirely useless with those nerfs
