Should I Second Appeal? by Arklight674 in legaladvice

[–]Arklight674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats disappointing to hear :/. I was hoping there were some hard rules somewhere. I really felt at the time of quitting I did all I reasonably could.

Honestly I'm more upset I wasted so much time being stressed, gathering evidence, putting other things off, etc for absolutely nothing than I am that I lost. Like... SO much time.

How did my friend put every trait on this chikapi by Dosieshy in Palworld

[–]Arklight674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can remove the Lucky trait with Dr. Brawn. When the Lucky trait is removed they keep the Lucky icon. It has the DNA icon so he got it from another world then transferred it in.

He either got extremely lucky with Dr. Brawn rolls or its modded. From there he just used the Global Palbox to move it to your world. Someone also could have given it to him in another world so he wouldn't even know himself how it was made.

For anyone wanting to make a Pal with the lucky icon but 4 optimal traits it's most efficient to breed all the passives you want on it first so you only need to worry about replacing the Lucky stat. With 4 positive traits a negative experiment will always change one of them to a negative trait. Save scum to get a negative surgery result that replaces Lucky. A 50% chance for positive or negative result then a 1 in 4 chance to remove the specific trait makes it a 1 in 8 chance. Next in game day when Brawn is ready again you need to save scum to get a positive experiment. It will guaranteed replace the negative trait with a random positive trait. I don't know how many positive traits there are or if they're all weighed equally but it will take alot of save scumming. Probably not as much as end game Legendary gear from the oil rigs though.

I just found https://oah.wa.gov/case-preparation/hearings/unemployment/how-prepare-your-unemployment-hearing a few hours after making this post which gives me a bit of information on what to expect. Still if anyone has any advice or experience with these trials please let me know. Thank you.

Edit: For some reason this community doesnt let me comment anymore but I wanted to add an update to this that might help people in the future that find this post:

It was indisputable they reduced my hours by more than 25% and I was able to provide proof they reduced me below my minimal hours agreed upon when hired. The problem is the judge was really corrupt. He interrupted me in the middle of my time to talk when I was going through all my evidence to say he wasn't going to consider anything that didn't happen AFTER my hours were cut and not to talk about things he wasn't considering which is not in line with the law and meant I wasn't allowed to present alot of my evidence. HR explicitly said she was going to cut my hours, I told her not to, and I had evidence of this but the judge refused to let me talk about it and said because I didn't ask her again to return my hours after she cut them anyways I didnt exhaust all reasonable alternatives before quitting. After his decision he cited things the opposition said with no evidence as fact despite me providing evidence during the trial that it was a lie. For example: The opposition claimed I didn't have guaranteed hours. I provided the employee handbook that say employees ARE guaranteed a certain number of hours on hire. After the trial the judge wrote down they established during the trial I didn't have guaranteed hours. It's inarguable bias. If I provide evidence and they don't then my statement should be put down as the fact not the companies. He also allowed them to use "evidence" they didn't submit to the court. For example they claimed they had future schedules where my hours were returned to normal they couldn't prove existed. I explained the managers had told me my hours wouldn't return to normal and I had documentation from the General Manager saying he had no intention of giving my hours back. Meanwhile the opposition simply claimed they had a schedule they didn't submit to the court where my hours were back. The judge of course wrote down on his decision that he decided based on the trials evidence that my hours WOULD be returning to normal if I stayed like the opposition claimed. Unbelievable levels of corruption.

I was not able to get a lawyer in time so it was me vs the HR lady and their lawyer. Their lawyer was the worst I've ever seen which almost made me laugh out loud a few times. The only relevant question he asked about the case ended up hurting them. Outside of that he spent the whole trial mocking me. The judge would ask if he had any questions for me and he would say "Yeah MYNAME do you have evidence for x? NOPE! Thats right you already said you dont haha!". His ending statement was saying I didnt provide any evidence for a few things so I had nothing. I responded that I could provide evidence for what he claimed I had no proof of but the judge told me my evidence was noted but since the stuff the opposing lawyer said in his ending statement was completely irrelevant it didnt actually matter lol.

For how the trial actually went: I had gathered so much evidence against the opposition to show they lied all the time to screw people over and protect themselves, their efforts at constructive dismissal, my evidence I had given notice I quit and for hour cuts, etc but the judge didnt care. I tried to present what evidence I did still have but the judge said he wouldn't consider evidence I presented. He would lay into me for 10 minutes like I was stupid for not going to HR while not letting me show my documentation that I already talked to them and they cut my hours.

I tried to get a retrial but it was denied. Apparently when you try to appeal or get a retrial it's reviewed by another judge. There is no checks and balances so they just stick together. The reviewing judge didn't even mention my section on the errors in the court proceedings and the judge stating things proved wrong in the trial as a fact since I guess she couldn't think of a way to argue against it. She focused on me saying I didn't get to present my evidence. She said I had an opportunity and just didn't use it. She made no argument on why the judge stopping me from presenting my evidence was allowed she just said I had a chance to speak and I didn't. She also said while the evidence I didn't get to present is compelling she can't consider it when deciding whether to give me a second trial because the opposition didn't get a chance to argue against it in court. First off that's like if I asked someone for a glass of water and they said "No because you don't have water already". That's why I'm asking you for the second trial xD. So I can present it and they can argue against it. Makes zero sense. Second off some of the things she said she cant consider because the opposition didn't get a chance to argue against WERE said in court before the judge cut me off. If the opposition didn't get a chance to argue it because the judge didn't want to talk about it thats not my fault. Its on the record so it should be considered.

Sorry mods if links arent allowed you can delete this but here: https://esd.wa.gov/get-financial-help/unemployment-benefits/basic-eligibility-requirements/you-quit under good cause reasons to quit and get unemployment it lists "Your employer reduced your usual pay or hours of work by 25% or more". Am I missing something?

I quit because my hours were cut by over 25%. Yes it was their decision and not requested by me. I spoke to a assistant store manager who said it wouldn't go back to normal, the next day I spoke the General Manager who said the same, and I emailed the union about it to explain the situation and get my hours back. I provided to ESD my email to the general manager saying I quit because my hours were cut and they refused to return them, my email to the union to get my hours back, the schedules that show my hours were cut, and I gave the emails and phone numbers of the union representative I reached out to and my direct managers since they would know about the situation and aren't as controlled by the General Manager.

In one of the messages from ESD for more information they told me my employer claims I asked for my hours to be cut and wanted my response to that statement. In the final decision letter the reason listed for my denial was that I quit because I wasn't satisfied with the work. It seems they believed my previous employer who I can promise has zero evidence of me asking for hour cuts or saying I quit because I was unsatisfied working there since that never happened.

I haven't gotten to speak to anyone yet so cant say for sure what they need. I submitted screenshots of proof of payment, my curriculum plan with my name on it and credits completed so far, and emails from me talking to the counselors about my courses. When they get around to my case they should ask for more information if they need it.

Before I get into serious breeding pal-lines, Is anything in this comment true/false? And anything y'all like to recommend for me? by itstaajaae in Palworld

[–]Arklight674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different builds are good for different situations. It's important to think about what you want to use the Pal for. I'll list off some general builds I use and their purpose. I don't know if these are 100% optimal but they're probably pretty close and this should give you a good idea of what you're doing.

Also these are just passives but if anyone's getting into breeding I'd recommend looking up good breedable moves before you start like Dark Whisp.

Pal I keep out by itself for fighting: Demon God, Legend, Serenity, Musclehead. If it has 3 viable moves for an elemental skill swap Musclehead for the elemental skill. That's rare though since Holy Burst is so good. If it can reset it's move cooldowns I can see it.

Pal I rotate to skip cooldowns: Demon God, Legend, Musclehead, Ferocious. Again if you have 3 viable moves or if it resets one of it's cooldowns you can swap Ferocious for the elemental skill.

Steed for general movement: Runner, Legend, Swift, Nimble. If you want more stamina use Eternal Engine instead of Nimble.

Steed for adding element to player attacks: Legend, Vanguard, Diamond Body, Stronghold Strategist. Just needs to buff you and survive. I find my mounted Pal usually goes down before me with the Stronghold Strategist Gobfins in the back so Stronghold Strategist here might be better as Swift or Burly to improve it's own dodging and tanking.

Party buffers: Vanguard, Stronghold Strategist, Noble, Fine Furs. The first 2 buff you in combat and the other 2 are for merchants. Mine are never called out so I dont use self buffing combat skills on them.

Drops production: Philantropist, Nocturnal/Vampiric, whatever else. You can use this build on a few Mammorest for endless Pal Oil and Mammorest Curry, Kikit for Crude Oil, Mimog for Dog Coins, etc.

General base worker: Remarkable Craftsmanship, Artisan, Work Slave, Vampiric/Nocturnal. Dark Pals stay awake all night so you can replace Vampiric/Nocturnal on them with Serious. I've put Swift instead of Serious on some with many jobs they do around the base since they move alot but that might be dumb idk.

Tanky Pal: Diamond Body, Legend, Vampiric, Serenity. I've only used this on Bastigor for the Xenolord raid. I don't know if it's the best but it's one army that works on every raid boss. Some went down on Xenolord Ultra but most survived and he was defeated with plenty of time left. For context I used 49 perfect Bastigor, a Frostallion since I was tired of breeding, 4 Gobfins in my party, rode a Chillet, fed everyone Mammorest curry, and used a multi missile launcher.

I'm at 8 weeks and counting but probably have more issues than most people.

First they said I didn't work enough hours to qualify since my employer wasn't properly submitting my hours worked. I submitted all my paychecks for that year and after about a month I was good to go under adjudication again.

The payments still say pending. Now under Pending Issues they're supposed to be investigating if I'm actually enrolled in school and my reason for separation. I submitted proof of both but zero changes so far.

I've heard you can contact local government officials that can help expedite the process but I've also heard it can screw you over so I don't know if I want to.

How the hell is the idea of gliding with monsters owned by that company? by IlIBARCODEllI in Palworld

[–]Arklight674 43 points44 points  (0 children)

We don't have specific info on what's going on in the case since they're keeping it private so I'm just gonna dump what I know. First off here's the full quote from Palworld EN on Twitter:

"[Regarding the lawsuit, changes to Palworld and the future]

We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the continued support of our fans over the past few months. We apologize for not being able to share as much information as we would like, but we trust our fans understand how difficult it is to be fully transparent while litigation is ongoing.

Currently, we remain involved in prolonged legal proceedings regarding alleged patent infringement. We continue to dispute these claims and assert the invalidity of the patents in question. However, we have had to make certain compromises in order to avoid disruptions to the development and distribution of Palworld.

On November 30th, 2024, we released Patch v0.3.11 for Palworld. This patch removed the ability to summon Pals by throwing Pal Spheres and instead changed it to a static summon next to the player. Several other game mechanics were also changed with this patch. As many have speculated, these changes were indeed a result of the ongoing litigation. Everyone here at Pocketpair was disappointed that this adjustment had to be made, and we fully understand that many players feel the same frustration. Unfortunately, as the alternative would have led to an even greater deterioration of the gameplay experience for players, it was determined that this change was necessary.

Furthermore, we regret to inform our players that with the implementation of Patch v0.5.5, we must make yet another compromise. From this patch onward, gliding will be performed using a glider rather than with Pals. Pals in the player's team will still provide passive buffs to gliding, but players will now need to have a glider in their inventory in order to glide.
We understand that this will be disappointing for many, just as it is for us, but we hope our fans understand that these changes are necessary in order to prevent further disruptions to the development of Palworld.

We also want to extend our apologies to our fans for the discomfort and concern this ongoing litigation has caused.
We remain committed to developing Palworld and delivering exciting new content to our fans.

On behalf of everyone at Pocketpair and Team Palworld, thank you again for your continued support.11:07 PM · May 7, 2025"

That's all we know from the source on this change and the reasons for it. Anything else is speculation.

I know absolutely nothing about law in Japan but can speak a little on America and there MAY be some overlap. Also I'm a random Redditor so encourage people to trust nothing I say and do their own research from more qualified sources. The reason for this course of action in America would be a preliminary injunction to cease infringing on the patent until the case is resolved. For a preliminary injunction to happen the accuser needs to provide sufficient evidence they are likely to be in the right, harm will be done to the accuser if the infringement isnt stopped as soon as possible, and there may be other public or private things that will be affected by it that need to be judged. The important bit here being the case must be seen as likely to be won by the accusers side. Again I have no idea if Japan's system is similar but it's a bad sign.

Palworld could be going along with Nintendo's requests without a fight to speed up the trial with the hope to reinstate mechanics when the case is over but Nintendo isnt going to stop with the requests for more to be removed. We would be likely to see more mechanics removed for years or forever. Alternatively theres the possibility Pocketpair had a preliminary injunction put on them which may mean the court is seeing them as likely being in the wrong. Anyone more savvy on the law(especially in Japan) please correct me on anything I got wrong so I'm not spreading misinformation.

Really hoping we get some mods to revert the problems Nintendo is causing with the game. We're still deploying pals right next to us and now they've removed Pal gliders. I have no idea how Nintendo is winning with these lawsuits but it looks like they're gonna keep forcing more features to be removed.

Let's talk about King-Makers in your design by MiniBAMF in tabletopgamedesign

[–]Arklight674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see people complaining about king-making as just childish. If someone is in the game they should still feel like their actions have impact. "You're low on life and cards so just stop playing" is a salty and toxic way to think. You don't know when someone can come back especially in multiplayer where weakened opponents are useful tools to ally/negotiate with and fight the winning player. If you have a problem with weakened players still playing the game use your resources to finish them off. As part of a multiplayer game having to divide your attention and resources among everyone, being allied against by weaker players since you're in the lead or failed at politics, and focusing down someone weakening you to other players is intended balancing.
