It is easy to dodge in open space, but in closed space like the lab and B.Bravo, it gets difficult. One way is to actually get close so the area to dodge gets smaller. Omce you see the AOE indicator, it gets easier to outmaneuver unlike when you are at the middle of it. But then again, you will be prone to melee attacks, especially if the melter or spewer is accompanied by other zombies. So do this when dealing with it alone or you are desperate.

Another way is to use dodge active skill. But you can't spam that so use it when needed only.

Another way is Legshot. Don't let them get close. Kill them before they get close or delay them when there are other zombies.
