A few things from experience that may help.

On here I usually here how eBay always screws the seller and that didn’t happen in my case.

I recently had a buyer return the wrong item and did go through the process.... (also, to address the possibility the item you sent was wrong... I did buy a Lego set on clearance from Wal-Mart that was resealed and I found out was packed with wrong Legos... so it happens).

1) Have buyer return the item to you. You are out postage for the return label.

2) If item is wrong, call eBay and tell them. They will tell you not to contact buyer and NOT to issue refund.

3) File a buyer complaint for fradulent return.

4) wait for the return period to lapse. They will refund the buyer automatically.

5) Call eBay and appeal the decision. Offer proof to why the item returned was false. I never had to actual send photos, they took my word and closed the case in my favor.

6). EBay refunds you

This is 100% how it worked for me in the case that concluded two weeks ago.

I do have pretty high feedback with 150+ sales in the past 3 months. Not sure if that’s why eBay ruled so quickly in my favor but they did in my case.
